Diehl's Restaurant

I had heard so much about Diehl's, I had pretty high expectations. The food exceeded those expectations. I ordered the baked steak with sage dressing, green beans and rolls, with a salad before and chocolate pie after. Everything tasted homemade, and the chocolate pie was very chocolatey and tasted fresh. The beans did not taste canned. High quality butter was served with the house-made rolls, and there was plenty of gravy with the baked steak. Basically, the food at Diehl's is everything that Cracker Barrel wishes it was. I went on a Sunday just after church so the restaurant was absolutely packed. The service was understandably a bit slow, but I still got drink refills and had a very enjoyable experience. I will certainly be going back to try something else from the extensive menu.

My wife and I have stopped here every time we come to charleston. This makes about our seventh visit to this restaurant. We love the ambiance - very cozy. The food has been exceptional, and the serving is very large. If you can catch the cobbler when it's in season it's wonderful. We have yet to have a dish that we have not thoroughly enjoyed. Absolutely worth the trip!

First time eating here, ( a friend of my hubby's) told us about it,and we decided to try it out. It was about an hour drive. And we was NOT DISAPPOINTED. Had a burger, onion rings and Cole slaw. The burger was handed paddied out tasted amazing. Onion rings was crispy not burned very tasty. Hubby had the baked steak mashed potatoes ( real mashed potatoes) coleslaw and corn. Needless to say he cleaned his plate. Very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this place has been in business since 1960. They have to be doing something right. And the staff thier are very pleasant police well mannered. If you don't go you are missing out.
