A couple months ago I wrote a review that was based on the course conditions at that time. It was a time when the course was badly dried out, with exceptions to the tee boxes and the greens. Apparently, there was a major breakdown of the irrigation system at the time, and I wasn't aware of the cause or extent. That being said, I swore to never play here again. Now all has been repaired and I have to say that Blacklake is back to being its beautiful self once again. I'm back playing here again as well and would encourage anyone thinking about playing Blacklake to do so. The three 9-hole legs bring on a good test of your skill level and delivers a lot of variety for players of all levels. Come try it out and you will see what I'm saying. I think you will find it an enjoyable, and memorable experience. Have fun, hit them long, and hit them straight!
We love this golf course! 27 hole course, three 9 hole options. Two of the courses are more rough and woodsy, and one is more manicured and green. A challenge on all 3. They offer a first tee program and they also participate in the PGA JR program. The golf shop has what you need when you forget something, and the bar and grill is fabulous. The people are helpful and friendly. They just upgraded some of their carts and there’s always plenty stocked. The driving range has a wide area and there is a good sized putting area, with a secondary putting and chipping area behind the clubhouse. There are live bands and events on the weekends sometimes and great specials at the grill during the week days. A really great place that we truly love!
My friend and I had never played Blacklake Golf Course. We are from Bakersfield and we are both 80 years old.
We played the lakes an canyon courses. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. The pace of play was easy. The courses were challenging but fun. We’ll certainly drive there again.
Beautiful course with some difficult holes. Had a great time here. Will definitely go back to try the two other courses
Fair price, great fairway, nice green. Not too hard to play.
The course at Blacklake is great. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful. I will be back for sure.
If you bump your ball, it's still a great day for golf!
I will beat this course someday. The Lakes course is deceptively easy. At first glance, it looks like it should be a piece of cake but there's always a tree in the way that you thought wouldn't be a problem.
Excellent course especially when you're trying to get away from the heat of Kern County. Surprisingly the course wasn't busy at all on a Sunday. Great place to visit if you're ready for summer weather with a high of 75°.
Was great service for my mom's celebration of life.
