Ruchi Restaurant

My experience has been great for the lunch buffet and much less than that for dinner visits. Even though the food was amazingly tasty on both occasions, the customer service at dinner time was below average. When my husband and I were there the first time, it took the waiter 10 min to our table after we arrived even when the place was empty. We thought we were there too early. Then, 25 min more elapsed before the food was served. Oh, but when we tasted that food.... all was forgotten! The tea I ordered was lukewarm and also took an inordinate amount of time to get to the table. We noticed too our server and waiter had soiled garments. The last time my husband went there for dinner alone, he had to leave after waiting for 15 min for a waiter to take his order. He went to the neighbor Indian fast food and said it was the worst Indian food he had ever tasted. Therefore, we only go to Ruchi for lunch and never again for dinner. My rating is an average of the visits, I would rate lunch a 5 stars and dinner a 2, and only due to customer service. If I were the owner of such restaurant, I would try to improve customer service to offer a first rate dinning experience. If they did that place would be packed because the food is delicious!

They have great Menu everyone for the cost they take, it's too cheap and good even. Even the items and varieties they have is great and only place I have seen giving seafood for this cost is this I believe. But only drawback is with the deserts which are not that great and sometime it seems it's not freshly prepared which is not more tough to have with bit old ones. Except that it's well preferable for the menu and cost they have got.

Buffet was awesome. I had a best Tandoori chicken in US so far and also best mutton curry (Gongura mutton) i have ever had in my life time as the mutton was not elastic like in other restaurants. It was very soft and delicious to eat. Feel like repeatedly visiting for weekend buffet. Price is good just 11$+taxes and buffet is available in lunch from fri day to sun day. Keep up the good work team.

I had an outstanding service last week on the 7th of September at this place on my second visit. The food was amazing. The best Indian food dining experience in Illinois so far. The service was real admirable for the Buffet. When usually none ever bothers for the food quality or ur needs. Here you have staff come over and take orders and feedback's on a Buffet. That is not common. Although i was not happy with my past Al a carte experience i am forced to think that was just a bad day for them.

I always take non-veg. Unfortunately I had to eat Vegetarian today and it was simply superb. Gobi Manchurian, Chili Fried Idli were at their best. Shrimp and chicken-65 were awesome. Customer service was pretty good. Inspite of huge crowd, they were able to give you the ordered items pretty quick. Overall it was a great food today... Thanks to Prasad for the wonderful service...

Considering the food i would have given 2 - 3 stars but based by default they charge 15% TIPS themselves to the bill if its 5 persons and above. They consider even Kids of age 2 & 3 are as adult. Till then the staffs were polite after we enquire about the charge no body respond properly and doesn't react. With no option i paid the with TIPS charges. I haven't seen in any restaurant charging tips by themselves. Really bad and will not be going back.

I have had good food here and had good impression until late oct-2017. Had Masala dosai and idly for takeaway one night and when we opened the side dish boxes, 3/4th of the boxes filled with oil. I should have thrown it away but we drained the oil n ate it as we were starving and guess what, my wife fell ill from stomach flu for almost 2 weeks and trust me, I heard nearly 4 of my friends telling they had stomach upset after eating in Ruchi!.. Although the customer service was good by a girl @ruchi, I am so furious for having food there and spending few grands at hospital!!!. There is something wrong with the hygiene of this place!!!!
