Props Ale House

Huge props to Props! We were out for a nice little drive and decided to give Props a try. Definitely not a disappointment. The burgers were perfectly seasoned and oh my gosh were they juicy! Personal Opinion here: the sauce on the mushroom swiss burger was a bit sweeter than expected and the amount of Blue Cheese crumbles on the Black n Bleu may be more than most would care for, almost to the point of distracting from the wonderfully flavored beef patty. Again, those were p n Donald opinions. Overall a slammin' 5! Great job to the entire crew. We definitely know where to get a gourmet burger when we are in Niceville.

I've been here several times. However, two of the four times were for large private military retirement or promotion parties so I didn't review based on those. Six of us came in and it was pretty busy but they cleaned off a table quickly got us and got our drink order. From what I've heard from local, regulars, just about everything in the menu is good. The burgers are all a good choice and a worthy option for dinner. On my most recent visit I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was just ok at best. I'm not sure why I didn't like it but it just wasn't very good. The bread was a little too thick when compared to Cuban bread I've had in other Florida restaurants. I always believe that bread is really what makes a sandwich good so that's where my finger pointing is today. I've ordered the bratwurst in the past and it was excellent. The fish and chips looked outstanding as well. The ambiance is comfortable and plane (C-130) based with a lot of military influence. They have very good beers that are brewed on premise. I'll be back for sure.

Over all it was a good experience. Super prompt service. Ordered a Bloody Mary that was decently spicy, although the flavors in the drink itself were just a little flat. The hot wing appetizer was cooked excellently... We got the traditional Buffalo sauce and it had just the right amount of flavor and heat. It was taco Tuesday, and they were advertising street tacos which I was super excited about. I ordered 3 of the pork tacos. I really wish the description had been just a little bit more clear. These are absolutely not traditional street tacos, which would normally be served as fried shredded pork, with some a generous amount of fresh cilantro and onion and a wedge of lime. It really would be more appropriate to call these barbque pulled pork tacos. What they describe as a (I guess) chimichurri sauce is really a super sweet, deep brown barbecue sauce. Don't get me wrong, they were cooked really well, it just really was not what I was anticipating. And because I was not anticipating that, it biased my opinion of the dish over all. When you call something street tacos, they really should resemble actual street tacos... Or at least make sure you give a better description of what you'll actually be ordering. My husband really enjoyed his Wakey Eggs and Bakey Burger and the fries.
