REALLY GREAT! I was pleased with the large sections of the food groups. The seasoning of the food was REAL home cooking. I price of buffet was cheaper than Golden Corral. I will certainly endorse Western Steer as the winner in all areas of what you crave to eat. I salad bar is huge.

Same as I remember as a kid! Loved it then and now. Building, parking lot, and facilities were clean. Food was fast and delicious. Traveled 1 1/2 hrs to get there from home but well worth it! Will go again!

Love Western Steer. It's a classic and this one is still wonderful! It's a blast from my childhood and this is the only 1 left in NC I believe. Definitely miss the ones in Greensboro and High Point. I have eaten here a few times and great food, service, and thankful it's still there!,

This place is known for their awesome buffet, and for good reason. Whenever we want to take our family out to fill their bellies with terrific food, this is where we go. For about $12 a person you will so full that you're completely miserable 😨.

The fried chicken & flounder were góod. The green beans were so overcooked they were falling apart. The macaroni & cheese was sweet, why sweeten macaroni & cheese. The mashed potatoes were tasteless. The yeast rolls were dry & not fresh. The salad bar & fruit were both good & fresh, but the dressings had been watered down greatly. Our waitress was excellent, I remembered her having worked at the Western Steer in Lincolnton in the 1980s & she has always been a hard worker & excellent waitress. The baked chicken looked good, as did the ribs & shrimp. The chicken livers which I LOVE looked very unappetizing & were floating in burnt grease, so I left those & the sliced meats & gravy's alone. I really wish they had fresher & more appetizing foods like they used to have. I highly doubt we will return.

Nasty food and every inch of that place was covered in filth. The plates were the worst, covered with a greasy film and chunks of food. Not even worth the effort to finish this review. I can’t believe it has a 4 star review and a 95.5 rating. Should be condemned.

Me and my daughter had called and placed a order and we had ordered a baked and rolls. The potatoe looked like it sat for three days and was nasty. The rolls were hard and couldn't eat them
