Great meal in a very casual atmosphere. Ordered lunch at the counter and sat down. We got our food fast enough that I was worried about the quality, but actually the meal was great! I've had several local clam chowders and this was one of the best. The fish and chips was also delightful. The traditional halibut and chips is beer battered and very good, but the real winner here is the locally caught rockfish and chips, which is not only fresh, but panko crusted and delicious. And, wow, the tartar sauce!! The dining area has windows into the fish processing area, which isn't really my thing, but I'd happily brave it in the future to come back.
Everything was shut down but the kind lady at the front fired up the grill for us, even an extra customer afterward. We got a clam chowder and a crab melt, both were amazing and flavorful. Our experience was extra special.
Visited the Newport area for 4 days and stumbled across this gem. Great service, friendly staff, and absolutely some of the best clam chowder you're going to put in your mouth. Took me back to my childhood days of eating clam chowder four to five times a week.
If you're in the Newport area go get some food here. You absolutely will not regret it! I will see you all again.
Will and his crew made this a wonderful stop for fish and chips! Deep-fried rockfish with a thin coating made these delish, and not greasy! This is a good place to come to if you want chowder or other menu items, but especially if you want to buy some fresh seafood to prepare yourself.
Great price and service. Variety of seafood items and as a souvenir my son loves crab so we also purchased an empty crab meat can too. Garlic butter went really well, the crab is also cleaned, I expected to have to clean it but that was done before it came to the table. Save about $10 from across the street and get seasonal seafood. You can also see the shrimp processing when in season. I've been going to Newport for years and just never ate here. Also the coleslaw is great too, not the same but rivals KFC if I had both options in front of me, I would take a bit of each.

Loved the Clam Chowder! The shrimp and crab melt was yummy too. Fries were nice and hot. Service was also quick and friendly. Easy to split for 2 people. But may be hard to share. 😉 Very clean too.
This place has a large selection of seafood. Most of it is locally sourced from the boats that fish for the seafood landing facility that it is located in. In season, items are as fresh as it gets. Parking sometimes in the summer is a little hard to come by but worth the walk if you have to park some distance away.
Came here with my sister to celebrate her birthday...she said that it's the best clam chowder she's ever had ..well, she was right 👍 I could have eaten another bowl, but wanted to save room for b-day cake. It's certainly a very busy place. Sorry I can't give you too much more information... there's always "next time".
The rockfish and chips was so good and the Panko coating was perfect. The servers and staff are so friendly and helpful. After my meal, I purchased some fish and they gave me a bag of ice to take it home in.
I liked it so much better than the food and experience I had at that pretentious, overpriced “Ocean” place down the road.
