Once a year I wow some people that I love with this French restaurant that I love. The husband and wife team is impressive. She cooks and he works the tables - he also provides the duck from his own hunting excursions. The food is magnificent. The wine list is mind-boggling.
One of our favorites, Bistro boasts one of the finest wine cellars in the area. The food- to a dish- perfectly prepared. It is a very small space, so reservations on a weekend night is suggested. There is also lovely covered patio seating available, perfect for a balmy summer evening. If Chef has a special, order it! Bound to be fresh and spectacular.
The french onion soup is a spectacular example of chefs own interpretation of a classic. Served HOT (slide the cheese off the top and don't burn your tounge) the stock is unusually thick and creamy, the onions dellicate and sweet. Husband loves the appetizer of home brined olives. The boar is also a treat, a must try if you have never had boar.
I rate Bistro Le Crillon WELL WORTH THE PRICE, which is, in my estimation, is low for the quality!
Had a great New Years Eve Dinner here. The Rossini (fillet of Beef) was superb. Very attentive and all the TV's were on to watch the Ball drop in New York! Fun!. Highly recommended.
By far the best lobster ravoli I have ever had. It's a little expensive, but it's worth the great food and peacful atmosphere. It's a cute quant little place ;)
A piece of Paris in the midst of Newport...quiet, European ambiance with authentic European fare...invariably a relaxed evening of fine dining with a wine list that is beyond compare...in short, a gem.
The food is simply perfect, and the wine list is hard to believe!
