Mustard Cafe is the best! Most amazing fruit salad, my favorite cold sandwich is the SoCal Italian, and hot sandwich is Pastrami OC!! So darn good! Oh and get an omelette for brunch! They're amazing!

I have no idea why this place doesn’t have better reviews, but I’m a fan of local eateries that have excellent food! By all means this place is just that! ☺️ I’ve been searching for a decent breakfast spot around Irvine area that would deliver & found no avail, until I found this little gem. Me & my associates are obsessed with many of their items. Their Eggs Benedict, French Toast, & Two Eggs are the go to! Im a fan of French Toast & have not found a place that does it perfect like MUSTARD CAFE! 😍😍😍 I’m trying to work around the menu to try everything and so far it’s been wonderful! Thank you so much for the delicious food! Please keep up the great work! I can’t wait to actually visit this location for breakfast! I love this place!
This place brings back instant memories. It's been almost 20 years since I submitted for my first restaurant to open in La Jolla. The menu they offer is just about identical to menu items I submitted so it's good to see that there was someone who was able to finish it. And they do a good job of it. Fast friendly and tasty. Price is reasonable. So everything is good.
I got the featured item on the chalk board (Curry chicken salad sandwich) which is what originally caught my eye because that was one of the main items I wanted on my menu. Except, mine had dried cranberries in it as an option. I didn't see that here. But it was just as I imagined mine being with boars head as the purveyor which is exactly who I was attempting to secure a deal with. It's almost like the plans I submitted to city hall were passed on to this place. But, I'm sure that good ideas come to many it's just whomever have the means of doing it.
High chairs, fresh sandwiches made right in front of you, and all day breakfast!
On road trip and wanted a place to stretch our legs and get coffee. Staff were patient with me taking forever looking over the menu. High chairs were plentiful for twins. Everything was very clean.
Food came out promptly and you know it's fresh bc this place is a delicatessen. Kids pancakes had a strawberry smile. Almost gave only 4 stars as my Cafe Mocha was weirdly chalky. Maybe they used a powdered creamer. Either way my sandwich was so good it gave a full 5 stars.
The beer, wine, and refreshments looked pretty darn good too but I didn't have a chance to try it. Maybe on a different road trip!
Place was absolutely delicious went with a big party everyone loved what they got, owner even went table to table talking to people pretty awesome!
Fresh ingredients and accommodate a variety of diets, Keto & gluten free, which I'm not on. I have been here several times after hiking in the area. The oatmeal is pretty good. Just had poached eggs on toast with prosciutto on my last visit and it was delicious.
Clean and friendly! Did a take out order today during COVID-19 quarantine... Only a few staff on deck, but they were taking CDC regulations very seriously, which I appreciated! Masks, 6 feet, etc. Food was ready quickly & hot! I’ve been to a few other places that are allowing take out right now - this place is just doing it better! Help them out during this time if you can!
Breakfast here is unlike any other. Anything you order, anything they have is supreme in quality and tastes fantastic. The food comes quickly after order, and is hot and fresh. In perticular, their egg bagels are very very good. With extras such as bacon and such, you can make it taste even better.
Delicious tuna melt, decent tomato bisque (little sweet for me, but fresh). Fast, friendly, no crowd on a Sunday afternoon - for sure a new favorite I'm stoked to make my way around the menu!
Been for breakfast several times - overall the food is fine and they're never busy. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The Figs with Honey on toast was something diffrrent, but messy as you'd expect.
That potato pancakes lox egg benny was awesome delicious. First time trying this place and glad I ordered it. Coffee is nice too.
