Absolutely enjoyed my time here! The 15 course Omakase was excellently done and each piece was tasty and well thought out. I also ordered the oyster appetizer and was surprised it included my favorite Kumamoto oyster. Definitely saved as a favorite of mine for future visits. I am coming back again today with some friends.

Good sushi place in Newport. We try to make reservations but they said it’s all booked up but we can try line up. We got here at 8:30 and the table was available. We love the live sweet shrimp. The head made into miso soup was better than frying it. The server was nice but they seem a bit busy. We had flan and the vanilla one is better than the green tea flan.

One of the best sushi spots in OC if not in all of So Cal. A very low key sushi joint serving high quality cuts of some of the freshest fish available. My favorite high-end spot for sushi whenever I’m in the mood for it. Can’t remember all of the cuts I’ve had here, but you can never go wrong with the otoro, uni(Santa Bárbara), live amaebi, Japanese red snapper, sea scallops…etc. Everyone else can have Nobu…I’m happy with Nana San.

My new go-to place to get fresh sushi at reasonable price, especially when short on time at work. I ordered combo L with assorted sushi with spicy tuna roll. Every item pictured in the bento box tasted fresh and just the right portion. I will be a return customer! Husband and I went to eat sushi at their sushi bar today. Every sashimi we ordered was very fresh!

Nana San sushi bar is one of the best sushi places I have ever visited. It's a small restaurant with max occupancy to41 people at a time. The inside of the restaurant is modern and trendy with live chef counter and bar on on side. Place is very well maintained and clean and staff is very friendly. I have never tried so many different style of sushi before and I loved all the different sushi chef prepared for us. This place is a hidden gem and if you love sushi thus is a place you can't miss

Wow is this place delicious! It was recommended by someone I met on a plane and they said to get there early to get a table. We ordered omakase and we were not disappointed!! I'd return and order more pieces next time. All the sides and desserts were amazing too.

Nana San is our favorite sushi restaurant in OC right now. Everything on the menu is fresh and well presented. We especially like that they have consistently had available toro, wild salmon, black and red snapper. The sea bass sashimi was a new one for us which I really enjoyed. Soft shell crab (crunchy) roll was also delicious and my daughter enjoyed it even after learning exactly what it was. Seaweed salad is also worth trying - simple but you can see their focus on quality in how fresh and bright the salad leaves are. It’s hard to get a table here on the weekend but through diligently calling the day of, we have been able to come a couple times with minimal hassle. You just have to be willing to be “on call” for your table. I hope they don’t change anything about this little restaurant. It has a small intimate feel, but still informal and friendly.

Went to this place on a Monday night and there was no line which was great. Servers were nice and attentive. Ordered the king salmon belly, regular salmon, spanish mackerel, golden snapper, sea bass, unagi, blue fin tuna, toro and a soft shell crab roll. Everything was delicious! Sushi was made well, the consistency of the rice was perfect and most importantly, the rice did not separate from the fish as you picked it up. Even the soft shell crab roll was amazing. The only thing I would order differently next time is I'd skip the king salmon belly as it tastes just like the regular salmon and I'd get the regular mackerel instead of the Spanish one which I believe is more tasty. We also tried the flan which Nana makes every morning and it was worth getting. So far, I find that this is the best sushi place in OC and I would definitely come back.

A small sushi restaurant but has one of the best quality food. This place gets very busy but definitely worth the wait. My favorite thing to order is uni. It's always so fresh. Definitely give this place a try. Reminder this restaurant is closed on Sunday.

Amaze balls omakase for lunch. You can choose how many pieces based on your appetite. Went with 15 and a blue crab hand roll. Lots of interesting garnishments on some pieces others were plain you dip in soy. Rice nicely seasoned.
