Stopped by here on a weekend night near closing(I think 8/8:30) as that’s the only time they had available for reservation. The had an extensive amount of items from food to wine. We ordered some drinks first then all the other food items. I don’t know if it’s because it was busy and we stopped by near closing but I recommend ordering everything all at once via drinks and food otherwise you are going to be waiting for a LONG time just to even get your order in. The salad was more than enough to share for a table of 4. Margarita pizza was great, the crust on the pizza was quite crispy but also soft and chewy in the middle, a great tasting crush/dough overall. The fennel pizza has huge chunks for sausages that needs to be broken up, especially if you’re trying to share, tasted like a finer sausage pizza. Mushroom pizza had its own creaminess and had a bit of gaminess from the mushrooms but not over the top which I enjoyed, just enough. The lasagna looked burnt on the outside but was quite crisp and had a green/greens infused layers of pasta dough, it was creamy in its own way. You definitely need to order at least 2 to share decent portions split amongst 4 people because it was quite small. The portion of the lasagna was enough for 1 person. All were quite delicious but I’d definitely go for the margarita pizza as with the mushroom one as well. I’d definitely stop by to try some other items that also caught my eye. Decent place to stop by but depending on time of day, get ready to order all your items without pausing or waiting because you might end up waiting for a while just to get in your items.
Came here on a Wednesday night, there is no parking other than valet parking (unless by some miracle you find street parking on the busy street). The staff was really welcoming and attentive, giving enough space as not to be overwhelmed by the staff, yet still tended to. We ordered the meatballs, potato's, sausage pizza, dessert and a cocktail. Everything came in a timely manner, the potato's were salted and herbed to perfection, nice and crispy. I personally don't like meatballs, but these were delicious! The pizza came, nice and hot, with a crispy crust from the wood oven, we let it cool, but still felt the toppings fell off (the sausage was huge chunks just shredded onto the pizza). The dessert was to die for! The toasted Spanish peanuts paired well with the caramel ice cream and caramel sauce! To go with dessert we got the mezcal cocktail, definitely something fun. Overall the ambiance was good, very European feeling, the food was good, next time I'll stick to a simple pizza.
This was out first time at Mozza. This is such a fantastic restaurant with a very special and relaxed feel. The service was superior and the food was super fresh and flavorful! We were there to celebrate my sons birthday and this was the perfect spot to celebrate. Comfortable atmosphere and beautiful ambiance, we are so glad we picked Mozza to celebrate this special occasion.
Food and service were great! Hard to get a reservation but worth it. A little chilly outside so we sat at the pizza bar and got to watch everything being made, which is always fun. We wound up only having 1 pizza and 3 appetizers (octopus, cauliflower, shaved brussels sprouts) for 2 adults and a child which was plenty. Butterscotch budino for dessert. Cocktails were decent but a little diluted. Nice amari selection and our server gave me a taste of one I had never tried before. Only downside of Mozza is the non-existent parking and having valet on busy/fast Costal Highway. Would still visit again though.
This was my first visit to Pizzeria Mozzarella and just happened to be for my birthday. Quaint, adorable setting with views of the cooks and pizza oven. The bar seating is lovely facing PCH. The outdoor dining section is like a charming outdoor garden feel. I chose the mushroom pizza. The bursts of Italian flavors were extremely satisfying. I can’t wait to go back and try more. The waiters were extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful.
There is only Valet parking so we found some street parking 0.6 miles away and had a nice walk which wasn’t bad. We ordered the Mozzarella di Bufalo because our server recommended it and boy did it live up to the expectations!! I’ve had pizza in Italy and this is the closest I’ve ever tasted in America. The Mozzarella was divine, they put such a large scoop on every slice. The crust was very airy and had the right about of crispiness with softness. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, worth the money!
First of all, the food was outstanding. Everything we had was delicious.
The Mozza Caprese was actually burrata so it was suggested we get the Pane Bianco with it, which I also highly recommend. The spaghetti cacio e Pepe was delicious as expected. The speck pizza was very good but did not have any base sauce. I’m not sure I’d get it again but if you like the ingredients listed on the pizza, you’ll surely enjoy it. I was surprised at the serving size of the coconut stracciatella and it was delicious.
First impressions upon arrival weren’t great. There was a line of cars trying to figure out where to park. There were cars pulling forward and backward trying to make room for valet. McDonald’s and Ferrari lots have no parking available for Mozza so you’re basically left with street parking or valet. Mozza turned their parking lot into outdoor dining so they basically added more seats but removed their parking which obviously stressed the street parking situation even more.
I dropped my fiancé at the door while I had to drive down the PCH quite a ways to find street parking. When I made it inside, the waitress was friendly and promptly and asked if I wanted anything besides water. I replied I needed a minute to see the menu but it ended up taking quite a long time for her to return.
They sat us in the corner against the wine storage and ended up having to ask my fiancé to move twice so they could get to the wine.
The bathroom was a mess. Overflowing garbage with towels all over the floor. Empty tissue box. No soap in the soap dispenser.
Nice place for pizza in Newport Beach. The restaurant is on PCH so Valet parking is convenient. Restaurant has tight seating so if it is busy then feels a bit crammed. The service is good and friendly. Drinks are generally good and wines are good as well. Pizza is well made as are most other dishes. Desserts, in my view, are the weakness here but overall a decent spot for a meal.
Went here again. Post pandemic the seating is more spaced out. We sat outdoors and it was very comfortable. The menu has been updated but most of our favorites are still on it! No more bread sticks. Good experience overall and would certainly recommend it.
Great service!
We had some mess with our reservation and the manager Hendel it quickly and find a table for us!!
Food is delicious ! It's definitely the best pizza we ever had!!
Was perfect!
Thank you.
Sure it's a fancy and romantic place. But come on, $20 for a thin 10 inch pizza with sauce and toppings used sparingly. Not to mention the sauce and toppings only go half way to the edge of the pizza, so it's really like a 6 inch pizza with a 4 inch crust. The flavor is fine but doesn't wow me. The Bianca pizza was delicious with a smart use of fresh sage leaves. The Benno pizza was rather flavorless. Sitting at the counter it appeared that the mushroom pizza looked like it might be good and the sausage pizza looked like it might be good.
