From the moment you step into the restaurant the ambience of the darkness, fire and light is mesmerizing. When you sit down and surround yourself at a table the beauty of this gothic style restaurant continues to take your breath away. The food is phenomenal, the servers are amazing and the food is five stars. When at Javier’s you must try the margaritas they are by far the best I have ever had. My personal favorite is the pepino. Every time I’m in Newport Beach Javier’s is a must. Try it you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent place to relax and their patio looking over the ocean And have some good dinner and some cocktails. Great food & great service🦀🐠🍇🍸🍾
I really enjoyed Javier’s! The food was great and the drinks were also amazing. The service I give a four stars because the hostess seemed to be overwhelmed and forgot to seat us, our reservation was at 7:00 and we didn’t get seated until 7:30. However, the amazing service from our waiter and the food coming fast and being delicious made up for that rough start.
At least two visits. That’s the number of times I’ve had consistent food/service and overall, a great experiences. First time was in Vegas (Aria). Ordered the “La Tablita” steak for two.
Got the same thing this time and it was just as good if not better (we were soberish this time). Got a pepino margarita from the bar (it was nice and stiff) but the Old Fashion was one of the best, if your in to adult beverages. Ordered churros for dessert (freshly made and delicious)but we probably didn’t fully appreciated them as we were stuffed.
Keep it going Javier!!!
We visited from Texas and this food lived up to (and exceeded) all our expectations for Mexican cuisine! Delicious margaritas too! Beautiful restaurant and view. It was very busy so I would recommend reservations
Chips and salsa, chopped salad, 6 Taquito appetizer, enchilada entree (red and green sauce), tuna/avocado starter, filter with chipotle cream sauce/mashed potato and veggie. One of fav meals ever. Best chips and salsa we’ve had.
The chips and salsa that they give you when you sit are Ahhazing. The salsa has the perfect amount of spice! That was a big favourite.
We ordered ceviche as a starter and that tasted super fresh. It was mixed with avocado, onions and sauce. It was good but nothing great.
The drinks are strong and good!
The food was good but not great. My taco had super crusted chicken in it. I got the mixed plate so I could try a couple of things. Enchiladas were great along with the pepper. Food is not authentic Mexican but you come for the ambience and vibe! It was packed on a Monday night!
Didn’t get the chance to have dessert. I will definitely be back.
Seated right away, atmosphere was picture perfect! Food was amazing, had a filet that was like butter! Pat Sajak was at the table next to us, which was cool. Lastly, our waiter stopped us on the way out saying we over tipped, that gratuity was already included in the bill and didn't want us to pay more than we should. That's awesome!
Everything is great about this restaurant the location, decor, service, food and drinks. The cucumber margaritas were delicious and the La Tablita was large enough for 3 people and exquisitely prepared. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.
My husband said we had to visit Javiers becasue it was "the best Mexican food I've ever had. Period.". So we went...and he was right! The shrimp ceviche was just ok, didn't have a ton of flavor, but the mains and even the salsas were amazing. He had the carnitas, which were amazing. I had the steak fajitas. They came out mixed together in a bowl, which is not how I usually see fajitas served, but I absolutely could not believe the flavor. The steak was so tender I could cut it with a knife! And the mixture of the tomato with the onions (green and white) with the pablanos was incredible. Even the guacamole was creamy and delicious and so fresh it actually started turning brown! Definitely go here if you like mexican food!
One of our favorite spots in OC. We love the Newport location being right next to the water. The atmosphere and ambiance in there is amazing. The enchiladas suizas are great! Chips and salsa are fresh. I usually order the black mamba which is great as well. Highly recommend
I've heard nothing but great things about this place, so I finally stopped by for a drink. I ordered the cucumber margarita, and it was so refreshing. It's definitely one of the best cucumber margaritas I've had. The complimentary salsa and chips was great as well so we ordered the guacamole. It's the most creamy guacamole I've ever tasted. The sprinkle of parm made a difference in taste as well.
Overall great experience. I'd come back for an actual meal next time.
