Had the four beers on tap and they were OK. Pretty average as beers go so no raves or rants here. The décor is the standard "Cozy Northern Hunting Lodge" theme. Service was good. Didn't have any food, so I can't comment on that. This place is basically in the parking lot for the Tahquamenon Falls park so the falls are a less than 10 minute walk away. It's a pretty place and has a nice outdoor seating area with a fireplace, too. All-in-all it's a pretty comfortable place to hang out if you're in the area and want a local brew.
It ended up being a rainy day so why not kill some time and grab a bite at the local brewery. Tahquamenon Falls Brewery offers a lengthy menu of safe family friendly food that will surely suffice the upper Michigander traveler. We started with The Smoked Fish Dip and Brewpub Cheese Soup. The dip was fresh and really hit the spot, the crackers could use an upgrade considering it was $9 but whatever. The cheese soup was also quite delicious with generous chunks of ham and aged cheddar.
This is a gem that you haven't discovered. Terrific folks serving snowmobiling families a hot meal and cold brew in an idyllic space. Where is everyone?
Great buffalo burger and fries. The beer was also very good.
Well, we Like it!. We've visited several times as Tahquamenon Falls is one of the true natural gems in Michigan. We have always liked the beer and found the food to be consistently good - not great - but good. I could do without the stuffed wolves, but the rest of the decor evokes the true feel of the area.
Fantastic people, and food!!. The people are wonderful and also have the best blueberry beer ale. I cant wait to get back up there to see them.....
Enjoyed our first visit. We never tried it before because of the wait. Typically we visit the area during the summer. On our visit this time there wasn’t a wait. I recommend the Cherry maple salad. It was delicious. Also the Blueberry beer was delightful
I enjoyed the upper falls more than the lower falls. Possibly because there was a brewery!🍻 The only brewery in a state park anywhere in the country!
Good food, good beer, live music out in the courtyard.🎸🪕🎶 The world's largest gift shop I've ever seen 😱 a food truck. An ice cream parlor.🍦 It's set up like a small town but it's inside of a park.
Oh yeah back to the falls. Yep it's another waterfall. Yep it's a nice walk. Probably on one of the nicest engineered and constructed boardwalks I've ever seen 👀
The upper falls is less pandemonium than the lower falls. Two things I noticed. Firstly you can enter this area of the park without a daily park pass for your car. I'm guessing this is because the people who own the brewery (who used to own the entire area) probably mentioned to someone that it was not a good idea to charge for every car that entered 🤑 There is however a sign saying that you need to have a park passport. I had a day use pass from the lower falls. I never saw a park ranger anywhere in this park.
The other thing of note is a horrible ginormous aluminum bridge, apparently constructed and transported from Florida and erected across the river leading to the island between the falls 🫣.
I don't know what someone was thinking but it's certainly doesn't flow with the river so to speak lol....
Our party of 2 enjoyed the opportunity to have a meal and refreshments after our hikes. Atmosphere matches the northern Michigan vibes, all staff were friendly and welcoming. We tried the beer cheese soup, whitefish dip (recommend trying), and whitefish sandwich.
Stopped in for a bite after hiking the falls. We got the special burger of the day and our first pastie. The orchid on the pastie was a nice added touch. Food and service were both fast and good. Sat outside to eat at one of their many picnic tables. I did notice they add a 15% gratuity to all take out orders. That includes their outside picnic tables. Nice gift shop.
Very cool spot! Had good food. Beer was okay. But being right off the falls was great. I'd definitely go back!
Amazing food and great service. Beers are a+. You must try this place. Everything from the white fish to the duck was 👏 amazing👏
Nice "rest area" when visiting the upper falls. You'll have to decide for yourself whether it's a pre-hike, post-hike, or both!
Tahquamenon Falls Brewery and Pub is the perfect venue to experience an awesome meal and maybe an adult beverage. Everyone is so happy and professional. The food is amazing. We will eat here again. Everything was very clean. And the prices are very reasonable.
Great beer and food. Had the soups. Both were delicious.
Were told about this place by a very nice lady who works at the Shipwreck Museum. She also told us about the Wheelhouse & Goat Locker, but it was super crowded.
Thankfully we were seated immediately even though the place was pretty busy. The atmosphere is nice, very lodge-like, with stuffed toy animals everywhere and a big fireplace. Servers were efficient and very friendly.
I couldn't decide between a pasty and the whitefish dinner, so I was just going to order both (yes, piggish of me) the server suggested that I get a children's portion of whitefish so it wasn't too much food. I'm so grateful to her for that, because the fish was a bit too fishy for my taste so I didn't eat it. :D It's not that there was anything wrong with it, I'm just very sensitive to fishy flavors and only want very mild seafood.
The pasty (my first) was sooooo good!! I liked the gravy even though it could have been a little saltier. I really liked it with ketchup.
My husband got a burger & fries, which were very good too. We didn't have room for dessert, but they had some good choices.
They also have a little gift shop inside the restaurant, which stays open after the big gift shop has closed.
The proximity to one of the main attractions in the UP makes this place a really great find, especially since the food is good & they try hard to do a good job.
