I had an absolutely fantastic meal at Smuggler's! The only thing that was better than the meal was the service. We tried several things from the menu and were absolutely wowed - especially the Duck Bacon & Sweet Corn Wontons and the Beer Friendly Smash Burger. Unreal!

OMG! Brand new restaurant, completely rebuilt after fire a couple years ago, absolutely beautiful, overlooking Hess Lake in Newaygo. Just off M-37, easy to find if you’re not local. So worth the effort! Can’t wait to dine there this summer on the stunning waterfront patio. Garage type doors in the dining room look like they open to that patio weather permitting. Tried the Reuben, excellent choice! Hand cut corned beef makes a delicious sandwich, opted for salad instead of fries at a minimal up charge, worth it! Quick service, in & out within our one hour lunch period!

Food was good but it seems like the menu was more limited than the old Smugglers. The new building is beautiful and look forward to dining there in the warm weather. Help was very pleasant and professional.

Food is delicious, portions are huge, and food came out fast. Had an early evening reservation on a Friday which was good because it was quiet and chill when we arrived. By the time we left around 630-7p it was so loud I could barely hear myself think and there was hardly any room to move around. I think it will definitely be better when the roll up doors are open and there's more space.

First time visiting. Came from 37 Mi away heared good and mediocre reviews, we absolutely loved the place, parking was more than enough, well lit, restaurant was up to date, clean!! Atmosphere was fun , menu was great, prices were on par, portions were amazing. Definitely will be returning. Donna the manager was perfect choice for the position.

New place is stylish. Love the what they came up with. Service was excellent. Got right in, no wait. Though I think next time I will make reservations. Food was excellent and generous. Whitefish dip very good. Tacos filling and tasty. It was my husband's birthday. He got a free dessert and he got the caramel apple pizza for us to share. Wonderful dessert!

We made a reservation (highly recommended) and was promptly seated. Our waitress was great; friendly, timely, and knowledgeable about the menu. While the restaurant is great, this is not the place to go if you want to have a deep, meaningful conversation with your dinner companion. The floor plan is open with tall ceilings; while very pleasing to the eye, the sound bounces around, making it very noisy. Drinks are strong, and the food is great. Will be better when they add more gluten-free options. The menu is on the pricey side, but it's worth it. Extra lighting around the opening of the parking lot would be optimal as it is very dark, and drivers need to be extra aware of pedestrians.

I've been to Smuggler's at North Shore twice since they opened, and I can't wait to go back! The food is fantastic - the taste and presentation are on point and I can tell it's made with great care and attention, and with high quality, fresh ingredients. The cocktails are great too - that might just have been the best old fashioned I've ever had! The staff are friendly and the building itself is clean and designed beautifully. The lovely view of Hess Lake rounds out what I'd consider to be one of the best dining experiences I've had. Lastly, I'd recommend you save room for dessert as they have some delectable options such as the blondie brownie which was the metaphorical icing on the cake (if you'll forgive the thematically consistent but perhaps cringey food pun) for a Sunday dinner in November!
