Old timey 1800s hotel that excels as a local pub for both the Newark crowd and Blue Hen student body. My Buffalo Wing Egg Roll was outstanding and the bar tending staff was super attentive and fast af. went back for the Farmhouse Burger, and it was perfectly prepared. I'm calling, Best Burger in Newark.

Went for our 40th college reunion (yes you read that right!!)...got there around 6:30, no one was there except a small group of us. Set up shop at some high top tables and the rest of the group got there between 7:00 and 8:00. Had a good selection of beers and some good appetizers. Had a great waitress...Ellen was her name. At around 10:00, all the "kids" showed up. It was great to see that the Deer Park is still the place to go!! We plan on going back sooner than 40 years!!

This place is really big inside and even has two bar areas. We've wanted to try it for a while but when college is in session, it always looks pretty crowded after 7:00. We went on a Wednesday in July and even though the parking lot was full, there were plenty of tables as well as seats at the largest bar (the other wasn't open). The Brussels sprouts were good but a little underdone and the farmhouse burger was good but they were out of mushrooms. (Since it's only about half an hour from the mushroom capitol of the East Coast, that seemed odd.) My husband had a pizza which wasn't bad for a bar pizza but I'd suggest getting something else. The appetizers took quite a long time to come out and fries with the burger were room temp. The bartenders were personable and the drinks were nice size.

First time here and was in the area for business. College town, so lots of places to visit. This place was terrific for lunch, and the food and service were spot on. If I was local I'd be back!

It's a historical place so the fact you can sit in there and eat in a sanitary state is award winning it's self. Food was great the only place you can get outside of a Chinese fast food restaurant to get cheese steak egg roll. To describe them I would say OMG then my mouth would water š,...... Last thing because I'm not going to detail everything, I'm a firm believer lettuce and tomato should come on every burger though no charge!!!!

I liked the history of the place. But it's too bad they built that parking garage across the street, from it. I don't know what was there before. It should have just been a park. You know LANG.

I am a Tuesday night 1/2 price burger regular. I eat low carb, so always have a special order. No bun and sub broccoli for the fries. Most times my food comes out as ordered. The regular staff is tremendous! Wish I could name names, but I overall have good experiences at Deerpark!

We have had brunch at the Deerpark many times in the past. We've always been happy with the Bloody Mary bar, some time the fixins aren't refilled as soon as needed, so we stand and talk to strangers while waiting, (good way to meet new people).
Last Sunday (04-15-2018 was bad. Not only was the bar not stocked well, but the wait staff must have been short handed. Our waitress had to many tables, it was obvious. When she got to us it was a rush to order, drinks where slow to arrive. And the worst part (a biggie) we had two orders of Eggs Benedict, both orders where cold, the English muffin, ham, egg and salmon all didn't have any warmth. Rather than send them back to the kitchen we told our waitress and eat with the rest of our group.
After looking back we have had some cold plates in the past. This may be our last brunch at the DeerPark for awhile.

Great times there in college, awesome Sunday brunches with family, even had Sunday brunch the day after my wedding there š Itās not fancy dining but thatās why I love it - itās great service, good food, great drink specials, live music and fun times. Deer Park will always have a special place in my heart!

Who has brunch with 0 options for kids? No pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. Only eggs. The food we were able to get was pretty bad and 3 of 4 of us barely ate it. Scrapple was so overfried that it had the consistency of toast. Took lots of leftovers home to give the dog...he wouldnāt eat it either. I love going to DP for a few beverages, but Iāll never eat there again.
Service wasnāt so hot either. There was an event after a 5k upstairs but downstairs was virtually empty. They seated us at the only table in the restaurant that had someone at the adjacent table. That person was a teenage girl in tears over a sprained ankle. The entire hour we were there, not a single staff person came over to ask her how she was doing. I should say that she did have a bag of ice before we sat so I donāt think they left her completely stranded.

My home bar, one of my favorite places to be. My husband and I frequently went to Deer Park when we first started dating. We have so many great memories here. Before my husband, I spent some of the best nights of my life (with some of the best people I know) right at Deer Park. Aside from the nightlife, their food is great, the drinks are great, the bartenders rock, and the managers/bouncers do everything they can to ensure their patronsā safety. From brunch to bar to dance floor, I will always love Deer Park.

Not much of a crowd. Server was quick with the drinks, but took almost 40 minutes to get our food. Part of my order was a house salad. It arrived with my entree. Food was decent.

bouncers are racist !!! I wouldn't recommend going unless you're you wanna get denied the bathroom "just because" but you watch them let white girls in. Also towards the end of then night the bouncers get very disrespectful

Never have had a bad time here. Always great food, beers, and an awesome historic feel. And the upstairs always has great bands to watch. If you're just in town for a night or two, the Deer Park is a must.
