If you havent experienced this place, you are missing out, big time! This is in our rotation of the top 3 pizza places in the Delaware area! Probably the best in the mid-atlantic region if we explored more pizza shops.
WFPS always has the freshest, highest quality, as-local-as-can-be ingredients for their mouth-watering pizzas and sides. They have the farms and regions of where ingredients are from with the option to buy many local cheeses and other products. They use fresh, delicious dough and watching the men load up and cook the pizzas is mesmerizing. The atmosphere is laid back, but not lazy, and the background music is always nice and tasteful.
When we bring in our 4 year old, they have asked if he would like a piece of dough to play with whole we wait, which was thoughtful and generous. He thought it was awesome, too. Previously, chefs have come over to ask how everything tastes and even gave us tips on preparing our own dough at home!
On Sundays, we go for the brunch. Free coffee and water, out of this world breakfast pizzas, and top-notch service. The facebook page is always up to date as well as the site.
Coming from a pizza oven in the back of a truck, to a brick and mortar spot is quite an achievement, but to do it with as much grace and taste as WFPS has done is a serious feat. I wish them the best in the many, many, many years to come and recommend it to any and everyone!
Our favorite pizza place! This is truly the best tasting pizza around. Can't wait to try each pie that is on the menu, there are so many to choose from. You can never go wrong getting your pizza at Wood Fired Pizza. Always delicious!!!!
I saw the article in the paper about the new ownership so we thought we would give it a try. We are always looking for great pizza. We heard great things about the old place, but we never made it down. We finally did. We ordered carryout for 3 pizzas. We ordered a pepperoni, a spicy Italian, and a shrimp scampi. All three pizzas were outstanding! High quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We have been in the area for over 20 years and have yet to find really good pizza. At least for our taste. We have now. We will be back, and I urge you to give them a try you will not be disappointed.
Very good pizza. Had the fighting blue hen and spicy Italian. Crust was perfect. Staff was friendly. Will visit again.
First time in to Pizza Mariana and we found the Tuesday special $10 for some specialty pies. We got the pizza bianca: garlic oil, ricotta, mozzarella and spinach. We paid to add house made Italian sausage and were not disappointed. Yummy pizza, good crust. Will be back again on a Tuesday for sure!
Great experience. Pulled into parking lot, checked rating- 4.7 stars- went in. Delicious. Artie pizza was not bland, it was a little bit spicy. Mama Mia Pizza with housemade meatballs was distinctive. Good beers on tap. Quiet, full view of oven and pizza prep. Wish I lived within 20 miles.
Local college hangout. Fantastic pizza!! Wood fire oven makes all the difference. Garlic knots with cheese were great too. Looks like they have a lot of specialty pizzas and American fare appetizers. The place could have been cleaner especially a mop. But in fairness, it was the end of the night.
We love this place! All ingredients taste freshly made and the food is amazing! Although it can be expensive. I LOVE the Cesar salad because the dressing tastes house made!
Pizza is awesome. I could easily eat 2 of their pies. Pepperoni is great. The wood fired angle makes each pizza amazing. And if you happen to have leftovers, even better in the morning. Closed on Mondays! :(
