GREAT ITALIAN RESTAURANT. I went to Aqua Marina the other night after reviewing all of the other restaurants in Washington Heights, which are not many and the food is simple and boring. We decided to try Aqua Marina, and we were so impressed. I had the chicken marzala with linguine on the side, it was like home made, delicious! very reasonable price, friendly and cordial service. My mother in law had the lasagna, good portion and again very well done, tasty and delicious! I put this restaurant the same standards to any Italian Restaurant downtown in the Village or little Italy.
Tasty Italian in the Heart of the Heights. Washington Heights, especially the 5 block radius where I live, certainly isn't known for it's variety of cuisine. Your choices are great Dominican food, crappy pizza, or gross Chinese take-out. That's why I was so happy to find Aqua Marina. It's a small Italian restaurant, seats maybe 20, and the food is actually very tasty. Like most restaurants in the neighborhood, it's very affordable. They have daily lunch specials, but the early bird special is probably the best, between 4:30 and 6pm you can get a choice of soup or salad, an entree, and a glass of wine for $10. I haven't been there for the special in a while, so maybe it's gone up in price, but even so, you get good deals and good food at Aqua Marina.
