The steak tacos here are incredible. I was told by one of their staff that the secret weapon is maggi sauce. So so good! Also love the vibe here and the availability of seating inside and out. Staff were superb!
The food was good. We ordered the chip and salsa for the kids to get started with since El Mitote did not have a kid’s menu. The children shared the chicken quesadilla, which was enough for three kids. My husband’s enchilada Suiza was amazing. My Comida corrida platter with shrimp was great too. One minor thing was that they did not have a high chair for my little one, and we did not recall hearing any good music sitting outdoor. They did not have fajitas, which is my go-to entree in Mexican restaurants usually. The plates seemed to be all plastic, which was colorful but I don’t like plastic personally.
One of my fav Mexican places in the upper west. Close to Central Park! Get a nice Mexican meal here and then go for a walk in the park. We got the mezcalitas, vegan tacos and mushroom tingas!
I’ve heard a lot about this place as it’s on many lists of the best places to eat for the UWS. Very nice meal seemingly more “authentic” and maybe less sophisticated than typical Americanized Mexican food. Nice solid construction outdoor seating , too.
Comfortable place with tasty meals and friendly sevice.We had soup and Tacos Al Pastor,both were delicious.
We came here for lunch on a Sunday and had a good time. Service could be better as we sat for 30 mins and the waiter asked us if we wanted drinks and then no one came to take our order for half an hour. Apart from this hiccup, food was delicious and the margaritas were amazing. We tried the shrimp and fish tacos, and chicken quesidilla. Loved everything including Guacamole and chips. Will be back again.
It's a lil slice of heaven!! The staff,food and atmosphere was great! The mango frozen margaritas OMG!!! I had the El Pasteur burrito! It was THE BEST BURRITO I'VE EVER HAD! That hint of grilled pineapple definitely did it for me. Will most definitely be back!!
