The best Cesar salad I've had, really good Vodka sauce. Cool place. Awesome service.
Loved this restaurant! It was super cute inside and dinner was insanely cheap. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I went on a Wednesday for their winedown Wednesday special. My boyfriend and I both had bread, soup, wine, pasta and shared a dessert for under 60. Everything was very good! We'll definitely return upon our next trip to NYC.
Great food, service and wine list. The house red was delicious. Terrific atmosphere although the acoustics aren't great, so it can get a bit loud when it's crowded - but, hey, it's New York. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the bathroom was below par. Otherwise, it was fantastic.
This is truly authentic Italian dining in a charming Greenwich Village restaurant. The staff will cater to your tastes and preferences. We like to order a half portion of pasta and then split an entree. Many Italian restaurants try to dress up the dishes too much with heavy creams and sauces. Porto Bello sticks with the proven Italian recipes of good meat, fish or vegetable with some key spices to bring out the best flavor.
Try the mozzarella/tomato salad and any fish entree.
Porto Bello is a charming little restaurant that serves good authentic Italian cuisine. We started our meal, with some delicious grilled calamari, cooked perfectly. Oh a tip, be sure to ask for their balsamic and oil to dip bread in. Oh so so good.
For entrees we had two eggplant parmigiano, one gnocchi pesto and one pene. The eggplant was mouthwatering, the best I ever had. The pene was delicious and the gnocchi was good.
The people there were so friendly and attentive, making our experience memorable.
I highly recommend this restaurant in Greenwich Village. I wanted to try another restaurant for a change and was not disappointed. The staff were friendly, The food was superb and most important my friends were happy with my suggestion in picking a place.
