This is our favorite place in the UES! Food is amazing, from small plate at bar to full dinner! But the best part is bartender...Will! Great service, great recommendations!! You won't be disappointed here. Trust me!! Food, drink, ambiance and music...top notch!!
Delicious food, and excellent service! I had veal piccata, and it was superb! I definitely recommend this place!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner here. We tried the salmon tartare (with soy and wasabi) and tri-color salad for appetizers (both very nice and the salad was well-seasoned) and the spaghetti meatballs. For mains we had the scallops, steak special of the night and lobster roll. Save room for dessert - they have a great cheesecake!
Stopped by here during restaurant week. Cozy space with attentive service, though it gets quite busy after 6 p.m. The PEI mussels were great. I could not finish the rotisserie chicken because of the sheer size. Altogether, a good experience and worth the prefixed price.
Pleasant Upper East Side bar and restaurant. Decor is cool if a bit manufactured-looking. Prices to match, i.e., higher than you think is reasonable, but typical. Service is cheerful. Noise level is pretty high.
Rustic/Modern decor, classic or classy depending on where you opt to sit (bar or dining room). We came here for brunch, and didn't really get much attention from the wait staff. I appreciate honest reviews, so I'll still do the same. The menu is diverse, you will not be disappointed with the selection of unique dishes. I will definitely be back, but will probably try sitting in a booth at the bar for a more attentive dining experience.
A good restaurant, amazing service and very kind, clean with a food that I will take time to describe, the presentation lovely, looks a decoration, the taste well accented, seasoning precise softness and composition of dishe makes your lunch or dinner a good time.
Great find on the UES. Was there for a birthday brunch, had the entire back room which is lovely with library themed decor. Service was professional and speedy and food was delicious! A basket of sweets for the table to start was nice. The chicken sandwich, eggs Benedict, Avocado toast and fried chicken were the hits. Carbonara pasta was just ok. Spicy bloody Mary's were the icing on the cake for a fantastic brunch. Would go back.
I have to be honest, the only thing I wrote while at the writing room was my name on the bottom of the check, but The Writing Room is a great spot to grab a cocktail and think about that next novel. It's dimly lit and fairly romantic, with photos all over the walls. The left half of the space has seating if you're looking to eat while you drink, and the right half has a large bar, in case you're looking to drink while you drink.
Beautiful decor (exposed brick, high back leather booths, and Edison bulbs in industrially stylized fixtures) set the tone for far better than average bistro fare and a small but impressive wine list (great Alsacian selections!). The highlight is the service. The wait staff and hostess are impeccable, both kind and professional -- my waiter, Eddy, would not be out of place serving J. Pierpont himself. I'm told there's a very fun brunch environment and the lunch specials are screaming deals. Worthy of many returns.
Food is really good. Kitchen is making an effort to get the flavors and the presentation on the plate right. Portions are a bit on the small side, prices above average (compared to other restaurants in Yorkville). Preferred area is all the way in back by the library/living room. Nice relaxed ambiance there.
Had brunch here, great atmosphere, good food and drinks. House made bloody Mary was awesome and the fish and chips very tasty.
