What's better than cold ice cream on one of the hottest days of this summer in NYC?? Ice cream from Jacques Torres Chocolate!!!! I've been the lucky & very happy beneficiary of delicious gifts from Jacques Torres Chocolate but never been inside a store. I visited the Grand Central Terminal location today - the staff were soo friendly and I was greeted by big smiles. It's a small store but soo much to choose from (delicious gourmet candy, nuts, popcorn) and you can make your own gift baskets. Make sure you explore the whole store because the ice cream cart is in the corner. I got one scoop of strawberry and one coffee - both were delicious and the strawberry was especially refreshing relief on such a humid, sticky NYC day. Wish I lived closer, definitely worth a detour on LIRR instead of getting out at Penn Station!

One of the highlights of our day, this chocolate is delicious and if you are a fan in the show it’s exciting to get to see this shop in person. Especially if you will be passing through grand central station anyway..

From the minute I walked in and was greeted from a gentleman named Kevin behind the bar I knew this was going to be a nice chocolate experience . So many cute designs that are unique . Great place to get NY gifts because they have wonderful packaging with yellow cabs on then etc . I learned from the other lovely lady working named Olga that Jacques shops are only here and in France . Since I’m not headed to France anytime soon this is perfect . She also let me know we can do online ordering at Mr . Chocolate. Com ;) and oh btw if it’s cold there’s no better place to get hot chocolate . Enjoy !

There is simply no better chocolate in New York. In addition to the usual delicious items like the world's best chocolate chip cookies, I've been fortunate enough to try some things that don't appear on the menu, such as handmade duja, and a special mixed but holiday dark chocolate bark. I tell all my friends and family that visit New York that this is one destination they can't miss!

Not only is the chocolate great. The really nice woman who work there are helpful and knowledgeable about their treats. They made shopping for Valentine’s Day very easy. They deserve a raise!

I was looking for fine chocolate to taste and I was glad to discover Jaques Torres’s shop. I definitely liked the chocolate, the tastes were subtle, just the right amount of sugar. His chocolates are not too sweet like the industrial ones and you won’t taste artificial flavor! I liked the classic hot chocolate, but I found it very sweet which is surprising since the chocolates were well balanced. I liked it more when it became warm, the hot chocolate became creamier and delicious. One thing I must suggest is kindly change your cups like the one in Starbucks with stopper, you know how NYC streets are busy and any drink won’t survive in this kind of cups, it spilled hot on our fingers while walking to our next attraction. That being said I haven’t liked much the service, it was cold, almost lazy and mechanic welcoming. I guess the staff was tired and not motivated enough to share the enthousiasme and welcome genuinely their clients, which is a shame. I’ll try to pass another day for an update hoping things will change in better.

The hot chocolate is worth the visit. It is very good. Chocolate is pricey. It’s good, but not worth the price.

The prices are somewhat high for South American tourists, compared to the premium chocolate price in Brazil or Ecuador. But it is very good and fine chocolate, handmade and without preservatives, made in Brooklyn. Luxury, creative and avant-garde chocolate.
