The best Ethiopian meal I have had that was not cooked by my grandmother ( and she is the best cooked that ever was).
Perfectly seasoned dishes, friendly staff and Homey atmosphere...love, love this place! My only regret is not thinking ahead and ordering injera to go!
The food and atmosphere are awesome! Staff is very friendly - lamb tibs and the spiced chicken and onion dish especially good.
If you want to try Ethiopian food for the first time, you should definitely go to this authentic restaurant. I had never tried Ethiopian food and I was so glad to try here for the first time. I came here with my sister and her husband and I kid you not, we fell head over heels in love with the food! It was so good and flavourful!! The ambience was just perfect. The service was good and the prices according to me were reasonable. Overall it was a pleasant experience and also totally worth it!
The first time i had the ethiopian cuisine and i am glad it was here. Amazing small joint, but with great food topped with some nice beers and a lovely staff. Thats all u need.
Ethiopian food that's on point! The ambience and serving style is probably not as great as the other Ethiopian joints on the island but this is a great place to try the cuisine easy on your pocket!
Amazing!. Seriously amazing food. I highly recommend the avocado salad and the sangria
Wonderful food. Not sure why anybody would complain. Delicious!
An Adventure in Gastronomy. Queen of Sheeba is a delightful restaurant offering very savory dishes. We were served two type of lamb dishes, chicken and accompanying dishes. The lamb and chicken were cooked with a balance of spices which did not overburden the palate with pungeant/strong tastes. The injera bread is good, much better than others I have tasted. The bread has an interesting texture which I would liken to a non cooked Mexican corn tortilla ( as it would be in its "masa" form and texture). However the taste of the injera bread has a hint of sourness (please do not whince at the idea because it is not a powerful sourness but a delightful accompaniment to the meal). The restaurant is small and tables are close together creating an atmosphere of coziness. The subdued lighting adds to the coziness and would be just the thing for a couple celebrating an event. This place is a must for anyone who seeks adventures in gastronomy.
Lovely Atmosphere Decent Food. After going there twice, Queen of Sheba provided a great, ethnic atmosphere that was true to its Ethiopian roots. During my first time there, it was a wonderful experience due to my lack of knowledge of Ethiopian food. However, my second experience was a bit flawed. The food took a very long time to be made and compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I have eaten at, the food was nothing special. It was good, nonetheless. Two of my friends who had not eaten Ethiopian food were severely disappointed, but this could be attributed to their distaste of Ethiopian cuisine as a whole. Otherwise, you get what you pay for and the food was quite filling.
It was marvelous not spicy great flavor definite pick.
Great Ethiopian. I've been to several Ethiopian places now and this is as good as any of them. Try the Honey wine (tej) and get a sampler platter (can easily feed two). Think Indian food served on spongy tortillas (injera) that have a sourdough flare. Great options for vegans/vegetarians too!
Go for the Veggies!. Just like the real thing: Go for the veggie dishes (though meat is good too, but just not as delicious as the vegetarian options)
First time trying Ethiopian food and I’d say this is a good place to start. They offer sampler plates with both meat and vegetarian options so you can try out a variety of their dishes. Tasty food and good presentation, would definitely recommend.
I came here for lunch, I asked the waiter what was the spicy ones she showed me the top 3. I went with the beef like she recommended. It was nice I wouldn’t mind to go try the chicken wot. The food was nice look forward to trying other things.
Fabulous food for a good price. Sampler platters are perfect if you’re new to Ethiopian or really hungry. The restaurant atmosphere is humble and the service pace is rather casual, but if it’s food that matters to you it won’t disappoint. For 4 people, a veg and non-veg sampler plus a little extra injera is plenty. As for drinks, the seltzer cocktail is very refreshing, highly recommend, and a heads up—the honey wine is very sweet! If you want to be served really quickly go for an early dinner.
Ordered via iPad the vegetarian Sheba sampler dish and lentil sambousa. The sampler is a nice option to try a variety of dishes, however, the gomen wot didn’t have enough flavour IMO. The misir wot was delicious and my favourite.
We were seated quickly and our order came out in a reasonable time too. The restaurant is definitely a popular place.
Delicious and a great intro for Ethiopian cuisine, which is so good.
The resturuant isn’t much to look at inside or out but the food really is so tasty.
I’ve been many times and also think the prices are reasonable.
Food is good. Good portions. First time to try Ethiopian food. It was the right place to start with.
Amazing food worth a try
Maybe they can change the lights and put more dim lights if they want but being in this neighborhood this restaurant is amazing
A great Ethiopian restaurant. Attentive service without being intrusive. Menu on an iPad!
The ambiance was really great and the food tasted good too.
The menus were iPads so it was very easy iterating through the menu. We started off with the honey wine and the meat Sambousa. The wine was tasty. The meat in the sambousa was juicy but the outside crust was over fried and tasted a little burnt.
For mains we had The Taste Of Sheba which was a platter with samples lots of dishes on the menu, everything tasted good and we got plenty of injera. We also added an extra portion of Tibs Wot.
The dinner was really good. It’s been a while and I don’t find good Ethiopian restaurants often; so, i was really looking forward to going there.
The staff was friendly and the food was great. I had the sampler, which was a lot of food - in hind sight, i wish that i split it. My only criticism is that the flavors on the sampler were very similar; so, it was a little challenging to keep track of which dish i was enjoying.
I would definitely go there again.
