Red Egg - New York City - Photo album

The food made for a pretty standard dim sum experience. I like what I got and the place looks very nice, but I wasn't impressed with the food quality. FYI: They charge you tea once you have sat down and they ask if you want some.
Great food. Great service. Less msg in my opinion. Don't get the soup dumplings if you are looking for a thin wrap. The wrap is thicker than I would prefer.
Excellent dim sum. Clean restaurant. Pleasant service. Everything we ordered was tasty and presented wonderfully.
Great dim sum. Little bit pricy. The durian cake is awesome.
Red Egg, a pretty relaxed upscale Chinese food restaurant and Dim Sum place is great for some excellent food above delivery or the lower tier places in the area. They have private rooms for events as well. The food was pretty good. For a group of 8, we tried pretty much every dim sum available and e
They have Dim Sum in the evening. What more do I need to say? Great selection and also a full menu.
We were there today and overall it was pretty good. We had high standards coming from Vancouver which has very good Asian food and we weren’t disappointed. Food was good and service was good too. If I had gone with more people we would have ordered more dishes to try. Tried the pork buns, great. Shr
It's interesting that there's a wide range of reviews ranging from really bad to great. My experience the three times I've been there has been great. I've only come in for dim sum and I found the quality to be excellent. Also, I only order the steamed dim sum and not the fried. The only one tha
Red Egg is one of the very few Dim Sum establishments in NYC where you can make a reservation, which is how we ended up there. We were pleasantly surprised by the very good quality dim sum here! The service was good and restaurant clean. The only reason for a four versus a five was the traditional
Great dim sum without the loudness of other more popular places! Also without the hassle of ordering from carts, as you order off the menu. Quality of food is good, especially the shrimp dumplings! Decor is also nicer than other places.
I came here for desert after a not so good hot pot lunch. I was happy that we had gone there just for pick up because the place was packed. The place is very bright, I can't really comment on the wait staff since I did not dine in. But the cashiers were patient and friendly. I love the cannoli her
Good ordered (not the carts) dim sum option in a quiet part of Chinatown. Feels a little dark and opium-den like, lots of red and black accents. Peking duck buns were nice; they slice the duck at the table.
Came here for a friends birthday. The ambiance is blah... The good thing about this is that it is on Centre and not on Canal, Mott or Elizabeth Street. I have walked past this place many times and I was excited to try it. The place was not packed.. A few tables were occupied.. And there was us. The
When I walked in into the restaurant, I saw IKEA lantern lights painted in red and gold against fully black walls. I thought I am going to have another fusion Chinese food experience. But the food turned out to be very authentic. Great experience. The only thing was they seem to be short of people,
This place is tucked away on the block, and you'll see the blaring neon red egg signage from the street. I grew up in Brooklyn and Manhattan eating Chinese dim sum and banquet style foods with family. The quality of food is similar here but a bit pricier for smaller plates. The decor is a little mid
Real Chinese food - if you're missing Taiwan or china, eat in or order out from Red Egg. Sure, the bitter melon in my dish could have been sliced into smaller pieces but that's my only complaint. I've also ordered through seamless and the hakka braised pork was a huge hit at my Chinese food dinner
For years I've only gone to Golden Unicorn on Sunday afternoons for Dim Sum, and while I still do so, discovering Red Egg's dim sum selection is on par, if not better than, Golden Unicorn's! Small and intimate space, friendly staff and delicious cuisine all at a great price! Highly recommend.
Stumbled on this place based on Google Maps recommendation. And at first we were wary because it does not look like a restaurant let alone a Chinese Dimsum place from the outside. And the place inside is so unlike a Mott Dimsum place, it so clean and and I would not think its this dimsum if not for
