The ambiance, the service, and the food all vied for first place as far as we were concerned. We had the window table that was exuding French charm and was looking out on a historic site of immigrant living, our food and drink was served with friendly, competent efficiency and the food we chose highlighted French cuisine for French week and was not only presented beautifully, but was so satisfying in flavor and taste. This place not only met our expectations, it exceeded them.
Love the new/old 19-century decor... I expected to walk in a casual and cozy place. Although pretty cozy, Very Beautiful. The music gave the place a real laid back vibe. The waitress was real sweet and attentive. The food was amazing!!! My Friends and I had the Classic Tajine, steak Tartar, and Few Crostinis. To die for. I also would suggest any from the Royal Family sparkling cocktail selections and the mescal-and-Cointreau L’Antonieta. The crew is very hospitable and nice. The Chef is French and uses a very sophisticated technique building the small tapas. Amazing service!!! We will be back here again...
Loved the vibes of this cute and cozy French spot! You may miss the location since it's tiny but the decor is cute, the service is great (thanks Doug!) and the tapas are delicious! We tried several things but the highlights were the frog legs (we were first timers), the crepe Suzette and the drinks...yum! You won't be disappointed, feel free to mention us when you get there :)
amazing service! frog legs were the best i’ve ever had. the duck confit wasn’t what i was expecting so it came as a surprise. not my fave but still decent. the crepe was huge and great to share! overall pretty good and i would return. restaurant week menu met it’s value as i left stuffed
Amazing food prepared from the chef in front of you! Definitely coming back, became one of my favorite spots now. The restaurant is a little small and intimate but it’s a must!
Excuse My French is a cute, intimate Parisian bistro that offers highly innovative dishes with a carefully curated ambiance that we fell in love with.
Each dish brought a confluence of flavors that together made something special. The Organic Balsamic Chicken, the Black Truffle Ravioli, and the Nouilles de Cougettes were all delicious in every sense. We didn't enjoy the Garlic Shrimp Skewer (a bit undercooked for our liking) but it was plated very elegantly.
They were able to create an amazing mocktail using Yuzu and Raspberry puree that is one of the best we've had in Manhattan.
I look forward to being back, but would highly recommend this for a fine dining experience or a romantic date night.
We hit this place randomly but it was a huge surprise! The server fit us in at the bar (very lucky!). The vibe is super super good! Not too loud, very French romantic, well decorated. We were here for a drink but the food was also very surprisingly good! The price is also fair.
Will come again! Nice place for a french style date.
Nice find in the East Village. Tucked down a few stairs is a long narrowish, cozy, French stylish spot. Good craft cocktails and tasty tapas. Was quaint but the space was filled with good vibes
This is one of my favorite little hidden gems in the East Village. I always work it into my evenings when I jump around the area. The reason I keep gonna back is the menu. Everything I’ve had so far I’ve loved. The things I want to spotlight though are the three items pictured. The Croque Monsieur is the best I’ve had since I visited Paris, by far. The frog legs, which I had never had before, are outrageous. The first time I smelled it being prepared was the time I ordered it, and I’ve never looked back. Lastly, their crepes are super delicious and rich with flavor and the perfect end cap for a meal. I love this place, and go back whenever I find myself in the area.
All the dishes were packed with flavor! From appetizer (simple yet juicy olives, cheese) to main courses all were delicious. Definitely worth breaking my usual vegan diet for. They also have a few good vegan/vegetarian options for main courses. The ratatouille was especially flavorful. Also as someone who does not like alcohol, I certainly enjoy the couple of drinks I've tried here in the two times I've been. Service is always friendly, fast and also impressive (because the guy just memorized all the orders without writing it down!). Loved that the kitchen is integrated in the restaurant, making it feel cozy and more transparent.
The price is a bit overpriced for its food. The vibe is great, but I wouldn’t come here for the food
Great for intimate drinks or homey French small share plates. Reservations are highly recommended since the place is quite snug. Escargot and beet salad are a must.
