The Brooklyn Diner was one of my first stops being back in N.Y. The tuna salad sandwich is by far the best I have had. The polenta side with pomodero dipping sauce I could not stop eating. Our waitress Sarah Elizabeth was outstanding and so very personable, just loved her!
Thank you!
So I needed some breakfast and this was an restaurant that was recommended by a friend. It didn’t disappoint. The staff was nice and they accommodated me eating by myself and fit me in on a pretty long wait so if you were in the area definitely stop by. The food was excellent. The service was excellent and the location obviously was great. If they’re really busy, the modifications to the menu may not be available but that’s understood. I had their scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee and it was spectacular. I will definitely come back and wanna leave everything positive for this place.
If you think you've tasted French toast, think again, because the Brooklyn Diner in NYC takes it to a whole new, almost illegal level of deliciousness with their Pecan and Raisin French Toast. This isn't just breakfast; it's a flavor fiesta in your mouth!
The toast itself? Imagine a pillow fight between crispy and fluffy, and the toast is winning. Each bite is like receiving a loving, nutty hug from a pecan and a sweet, chewy kiss from a raisin. It's like they threw a party on the plate, and cinnamon was the DJ.
Sitting in the diner, with its charmingly retro vibe, you'll half expect a waitress on roller skates to roll up and ask if you're enjoying the '80s sitcom of a meal you're having. The atmosphere is as inviting as a bear hug from your favorite uncle – you know, the one with all the dad jokes.
In conclusion, if you haven't tried the Pecan and Raisin French Toast at the Brooklyn Diner, are you even living? It's more than a meal; it's an edible stand-up comedy show where the punchline is always delicious. Don't walk, run to try it, but maybe not with scissors. Safety first, folks!
Excellent meal, wonderful atmosphere and amazing service. Waffle grilled cheese pastrami was different but very good, was like a New York version of a Monte Cristo. Both burgers where very good, order well done unless you like a little red. Loved the fries and the meal... 5 Stars...
Fast paced diner with loads of good food! It’s close to Times Square and busy but you don’t wait long. Staff is so very nice and friendly and the food is made with care. I had the waffle grilled cheese: so delicious! My only complaint is that my marshmallow was so big in my hot chocolate that I had to take it out! Haha! Not a real complaint though, everything was good and well worth the visit here!
Food: Get the chicken pot pie. So good! It was creamy and has huge chunks of chicken. We would not recommend the steak special. It was SO TOUGH. Tougher than any steak I've eaten before AND it was unseasoned. So we shared my pot pie and nibbled on the unlimited fries from her entree instead of bothering with the steak.
Drinks: The pineapple mojitos were delicious.
Service: The service was top notch from entrance to exit.
Very fast-paced customary New York Diner. Limited diner breakfast menu but food was definitely good. Basic breakfast exactly what was needed and when in NYC you got to have a bagel for breakfast! Served fresh Mexican Coke from the bottle… a definite favorite if you have never had! Waitress was very polite and very busy. Always be ready to order as the staff are always working and busy.
Food was very tasty, out of all of the dishes we would say that the egg Benedict was the best! The French Toast was good as well but know it’s almost like a dessert. Everything was very clean and service was great.
Had lunch here today. First time here.
Service was prompt and professional and restaurant was clean.
I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake.
Burger was hot and extremely tasty. Fries could have been hotter but if you like crispy fries (like I do) these are for you!
Chocolate shakes are made with ice cream NOT chocolate syrup but are not a large as most diners. Not sure if it was worth the price.
Overall, a good experience and I would return.
This will definitely become my go-to breakfast spot when I visit NYC! The staff, including their manager Chris, are incredibly friendly and helpful. Although I haven’t tried everything on the menu, the chocolate cookie, waffles, and Greek yogurt with granola are a must-try! Delightful experience overall.
Pastrami Reuben was excellent. Chicken noodle soup was some of the best I've had in a long time. Fries were good. My server Luis was professional and very good at his job.
