While spending Christmas weekend in Manhattan we reserved a table at BR. From initial cheese puff to delicious dessert and everything in between the food was magnificent. Octopus was perfectly cooked, polenta was creamy and delicious. Steak was bloody and flavorful while the skate was tender and rich. A great restaurant for a high price but as expected at Rockefeller center.
Brasserie Ruhlman was a pleasant surprise. My family and I were looking for a good restaurant for Sunday Brunch and happened to pass by Brasserie Ruhlman while at the Rockefeller Plaza. The steak was well-cooked and the fries were the best I had on my trip to New York. The salmon and scallop dishes were good. The Lobster Risotto was reason enough to come back every week. Although the Lobster Risotto was just a special that day, I’d suggest including it in the menu. We were ooh-ing and ahh-ing after every bite. The service is another reason I’d come back. The staff was exceptional!
A great French brasserie in a historic place. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Food is always fresh and very good. A menu in between France and America with a hint of Asian influence. The terrace is incredible. On the pricier side but well worth it.
I love this place! I call it my dining room. Food is great (salads, fish, French friends are my favorite) and consistent. Customer service is impeccable and price is reasonable. I love their outdoor dining. They are hands down the best restaurant in Rockefeller plaza
Sat on the patio for a lovely lunch on a beautiful summer Tuesday. Classic french brasserie has all the classics plus some simpler options too. Service was super-friendly and very professional. Had west coast oysters & wife had a prawn Cobb salad...both were spectacular. Pate for an app, and it was great too. A very civilized respite from the madness of midtown & Rockefeller Center.
Absolutely delicious to the last bite. We walked in just by chance as it was opening and lucky we did, because they were turning people without reservations away in minutes. From fresh bread to the fish to the desserts, everything was made to perfection. For the complaints about the staff, it's very traditional French and we found everyone very polite. Not surprised it's so crowded!
Wonderful spot - especially for brunch or lunch - on Rockefeller Center.
In good weather, they have a great patio, and even if it's a bit colder, the inside decor is very nice also.
I've never had anything the least bit disappointing at BR. I do have to report that one of my companion's burger was a bit under cooked, but I don't mind that, so it didn't disappoint me. :)
You should be aware that the portions here can be quite large, so plan accordingly.
We had a great, delicious and (for New York) fair priced Thanksgiving dinner here. The location couldn't be better for holiday visitors. It's directly across from the skating rink and Christmas Tree, right in the heart of everything that tourists come to NYC for. An added bonus is their proximity to the fabulous new FAO Schwarz toy store. We were able to stop by both before and after dinner to give my grandkids an extra treat.
Service was faster and friendlier than many other places I've eaten at in New York plus they were both tolerant of and helpful with my 2 toddler granddaughters, 1 just entering her terrible 2s and one just coming out of that difficult period.
I highly recommend Brasserie Ruhlmann for both tourists or locals. You'll get top quality food with good service all at reasonable prices. It's a true winner!
Excellent food and presentation. we ordered the pate and the Hen of the Woods and the crab cakes to start. Then we shared the plate of the day, the cod fish in coconut milk and bok choy. Everything was delicious.
Great food 5 stars. Very old outdated interior with nasty restroom 1 or 2 stars for interior. Very expensive. Chinese style simple salad costs $31 plus tax and tip. Great location.
