I was ecstatic to give this a visit on our trip to the big apple- the end result was just alright.
We didn’t have a reservation, and we’re seated at our choosing (the bar) Kevin was attentive, and helpful with which wine to navigate next with.
Four stars as
-the aracini was a bit dry, needs more sauce or perhaps over cooked slightly. The plate needed a little finish wipe (nothing to cry over), the bursted tomatoes were a highlight of this dish with the pesto
-truffle pasta lacked sauce too, and not much flavor, another dish that was just ok
-short rib was spot on of the three, the mushrooms were delicate and delightful; the short rib pulled apart without tugging, too very little to no fatty pieces present
-a plus note, all dishes had beautiful presentation to them
-our neighbors had the tower, which was a unique way of cheese + charcuterie
Overall, experience was pretty good, wine list was plenty to offer, especially when there’s wine you don’t normally get to try, atmosphere was cozy. I would absolutely come here for a glass with a friend or book. Wanted to try the wine flight, ran out of time.
This is a great space in New York for a casual meal with wonderful wine. Aldo has selected some great bottles and the staff will help you select based on your tastes. The food is quite good and satisfying. I particularly like the decoration on the inside, and the feel of the place.
Food choices were varied and all very good. Ambiance was really nice and chill, in a sleek space. Wines were all awesome, albeit expensive. Great by the glass list allowed for tasting a couple different ones. Would recommend for a date night or pre-theater dinner!
Casual wine bar menu and vibe especially outside and more intimate, mid-century modern vibes inside. The inside space wasn't too big. There's a wide variety of wines you can select from with a bottle of wine ranging from 60-400+. Small plates are good. We got their 3 cheeses which came with jams and mini baguettes. Their bruschetta was unique and there cherry tomatoes very flavorful. Truffle fries were good as well. I had to wait a good 45 mins. for a seat in the evening.
Great ambiance. Outside even. Magnificent creative carrot side. Beet/ goat cheese was tasty too.
My favorite wine bar in the city! Great selection of wines by the glass, and modern, elegant digs.
Rare place that’s good for apres work, and just as well for date night or hanging out with friends.
Wine aficionados will appreciate the silverware, the pours, the large format bottles, etc. (but the new glasses aren’t nearly as nice as the older ones.. if you had to pick an imperfection!)
Beautiful atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Whole roasted cauliflower was cooked to a little less than al dente with a nice char and the chimichurri on top was a great pop to add to the mild taste of cauliflower. Burrata and mozzarella was good but served chilled which I think detracts from the flavor and creaminess. Bacon tarte was absolutely delicious. Crust was thin and crispy and bechamel sauce was mild but had a slight tang which was a nice offset to the rich bacon. Chilled red wine flight was perfect for a lunchtime. They have a linch special which they have listed on a type of rolling board that they drag around to the table before ordering. I thought this really detracted from the otherwise beautiful ambiance of the restaurant.
Cozy hideout in the midtown jungle with friendly, helpful service and comfortable couches. They have a wide selection of wine by the glass and bottle (mostly 100+) and delicious dishes that’s sharing friendly. Recommend the arancini and duck confit. They also have a fondue menu that’s perfect for colder days!
Nice ambience. We walked in on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy so we waited at the bar to be seated. The wait was only 15 minutes until we were seated on one of the couches. They have a pretty extensive wine list and the waitress made some great recommendations. We had a bottle of the Bordeaux blend and ordered some truffle fries and cheese to snack on. For our meal, we had the crispy duck with casserole. It wasn’t anything special and it wasn’t really crisp at all. But overall I had a great experience. Service was great and the wine was also a great recommendation made by our server.
Really nice wine and snack bar. Very pleasant.
My server was w minako who listened to what I like and make great suggestions of totally different regions. I tried a French Syrah and an Australian red wine. Both were about $20 per glass. Great place, good service. Knowledgeable and competent and friendly. 4.8 ⭐️
