Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner - New York City - Photo album

The most amazing diner. Not all polish and patter, but a warm welcome and staff who have genuine smiles and want to engage and assist. We felt very welcome and were given help with our orders. The food was just fantastic. Be ready to be very full, but totally satisfied and pleased. Huge portions of
Absolutely amazing. I haven't eaten so tasty for a long time. Matzo ball soup: rich broth, and matzo ball tasted like if there was meat inside. Big portion. Pastrami sandwich: just 2 pieces of bread with LOTS of juicy meat between them. Maybe a little expensive, but worth it. Pickles and coleslaw:
The food here was INCREDIBLE! There are so many delicious and authentic dishes to try! My favorite thing to order is the Chicken Parm sandwich and the matzo soup! The serving size is MASSIVE! The food quality was incredible and I highly recommend eating here! It is a hidden gem, and who doesn’t love
Sarge's Deli in NYC is the real deal, offering an exceptional dining experience. Their Reuben sandwich is hands down the best I have ever had, and their cheesecake and banana cream pie are among the finest I've ever tasted. Trust me, it's worth trying Sarge's over Katz deli any day. The only minor
This restaurant serves the best pastrami in town! The flavors are rich and the texture is perfect. The attention to detail in crafting this dish is evident, making it a standout choice. Highly recommended for pastrami enthusiasts!
What a classic New York experience. The giant pastrami & corned beef sandwiches were fantastic, as was the "Robin" (grilled open pastrami, swiss cheese and sauerkraut sandwich). Great burgers too, and the crinkle cut skin-on fries are super. Complimentary homemade coleslaw and pickles are so good. W
Tldr; good Jewish deli, a bit sad and rough around the edges, but p goood food and service - had the matzo ball soup, pastrami sandwich, and special platter - was p good, we hadn't tried the apple sauce, knish, and sour cream combo - that was surprisingly nice! - decor was dated and worn. Not a lot
I grew up on LA Jewish deli and this place did not disappoint! Local family insisted that Sarge’s was more authentic and better than Katz’s. I wholeheartedly agree. I had the pastrami/corned beef sandwich. It was delicious. I do however wish that the rye was a bit stronger to hold that meat on a san
Visiting New York and looking for a place that serves traditional NY cheesecake. Found this diner through some food blog post and decided to give it a try. Truly not disappointed with the cheesecake. You can make a meal just with a single piece of cheesecake, definitely shareable between two people
Loved the automatic pickles and coleslaw upon seating! Lox Bagel, Pancakes, and French Toast were good too. 😋 The table next to us ordered 4 (big) bowls of Matso Ball Soup, 4 (huge) Pastrami Sandwiches, and some other food/drinks. One (wisely) opted out of desert, so they were only brought 3 (ridi
Portions are huge, that's why prices are a bit high. Food is good! Quick service, very nice waiter. Just place is a little bit dirty, like everything in New York.
Renowned for its array of delicacies ranging from savory sandwiches to the sweet allure of cheesecake, Sarge's culinary expertise shines both in its dishes and its vibrant dining atmosphere. A quintessential pillar of New York's gastronomic landscape since 1964, this eatery boasts a hall of fame tha
Really enjoyed the signature pastrami. The service was really good and soo was the. If you’re planning to go, 1 order of the pastrami is a portion large enough for 2 people.
Great food. Even the vegan Reuben is amazing. However the service could be a lot better and the place needs to be a whole lot cleaner. Those issues aside, it's a great deli for someone in midtown wanting a great deli sandwich.
Delicious! The pastrami is amazing. The Cheeseteak was superb. And you know me. I'm pretty critical when it comes to cheesesteaks! Well, this one is in my top 5 all-time! The sauce is delicious. The bread is perfect. The meat is top notch! The fries! Crinkle cut in-house and very good! You gotta put
One of our favourite pastrami place in NY! We loved getting to try the pastrami while they make our sandwiches which makes the wait so much more worth it. The service is amazing and we highly recommend!
Great location and even better food. The Matzo Ball soup is fabulous, easily better than my mother made. The meat platter with potato salad is enough for four people, I failed to eat as much as I wanted to and we boxed the rest to go. Service is efficient and ideal, I waited ten minutes for the tabl
Sargies is New York for us. We visit every time we are in New York and it never fails. Because of Covid, we hadn’t visited for the last four years. However, everything was as good as we remember. The Pastrami sandwich is exceptional and there’s something unique about the atmosphere. The service is q
Really nice old spot. The waitress was wonderful and helpful. Had the pastrami sandwich on rye and it was good but a bit to greasy.
