Amorino

It’s cute inside, the staff is nice and there is a large selection. I’ll admit when I saw the regular cup I thought “that’s not very much for the price”, but I was wrong. It’s a generous scooping and was more than enough. The dark chocolate was a wow and the crème brûlée with pistachio crumble was a surprise. Both were delicious. Bonus that they have outdoor seating even in the winter.

Absolutely don’t pass by Amorino Gelato! Everything they sell is to die for, the service is friendly, and their selection is huge. Post pandemic, there is now also some really nice outdoor seating, about doubling their capacity for people to take a load off and enjoy their goodies. The outdoor photo I’ve included was the view from my table outside. We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area! 😋

It’s hard not to like gelato and coffee, especially when their espresso was so good. I had their affrogato, and my husband had their macchiato and chocolate moose (because he got to keep the jar for his home-made jam or sauce). Only not too perfect for us that day was the gelato for some reason was somehow icy, like we taste ice in the gelato. But the flavor was good.

This is the best gelato we had in NY. The flavors were delicious and the texture was so soft. The experience is kind of chaotic because the place is crowded and nobody explains how it works so here it is: you have to pay by yourself in any of the self service screens available and then make the line just to pick the flavors. It is really slow because as you can see in other photos they serve a cone decorated like a flower so they take their time to build them. Anyway I really recommend this and would definitely come back! We had blueberry cheesecake and something like “inevitable”; loved both.

When you get there, you must order and pay from one of the 2 screens where you can pick your type and size of treat. The machine will print a receipt, which you'll give to the person being the counter. The location is very busy. It looks clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and informative. Periodically, the people behind the counter will remind you that you must place your order at the screens first. They also point you towards the sign where the line starts and forms, which is in the store and not towards the street, which I like. Keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and it also keeps the sidewalk clear. I tried 10 flavors, and they were all amazing! My favorites were dulce de leche, coffee, pistachio, and chocolate, but I think every flavor here is delicious. They also sell macarons, cookies, and other treats. My experience here was good. It did feel a little busy, but once you get your gelato, it is all worth it. I definitely recommend this place.
