Review Taim West Village - New York City

Falafel was fresh and very tasty even towards closing time. Lots of options for sides and sauces. Restaurant has a kosher certificate for everything but the two dairy items on the menu.

This place is really more of a takeout place but as always a great place to get vegetarian cuisine. While it maybe easy to miss this place it's in close proximity from the corner of 7th Avenue South & Perry Street.

Really delicious falafel bowl at an affordable price point. You can build your own bowl/wrap or they have suggested combinations.

For the price, quantity and quality, this restaurant chain serving falafel bowls with many toppings is worth it especially if you have an appetite and love veggie options.

Best falafel outside Israel ! Visiting Manhattan from Texas (Israeli family) and have had this place on my list for a while. Finally stopped in today for a falafel pita sandwich. Downloaded the app and got amazing FREE Hummus & Zatar Pita. Get the Mint Ginger Lemonade, you’ll thank them after !

Been going here for years. I was skeptical about the menu change, because I loved the simplicity of the place. However, the new bowls are truly a delight. I’ve yet to try the other protein options, but I love all of the new add-on’s that come with the bowl. The whipped garlic sauce is absolute necessity. Taim remains a favorite of mine.

Great spot to experience delicious Mediterranean food. Excellent portions both with a bowl and a pita sandwich. I keep coming back and it tastes better everytime.

UPDATED Excellent place, very personal service and I spoke to a person there Jennifer who is kind with her time and explain to me a lot of the elements of the place. This is my second time here in two days and I definitely recommend learning how to order because there are probably some right ways to do it and some wrong ways to do it so I think there's a learning curve and there are different things that you might or might not like so I think the next time I will be better off in terms of choosing something that will be perfect. This is a great place and you get a lot of food and there's a lot of options to choose from, and the app works very well. It's a very good situation. I think some tutorials would help because it's a lot to process but this is a great place and I definitely will be coming back. I created a new spot here called pita corner so that's what this is it's a magical spot, so enjoy. ORIGINAL REVIEW YES I thought it was really good and it's an excellent system. That being said, I was a little upset as a first-time visitor how difficult it is to process something that could be more simply explained. There's an offer as well for $5 discount if you sign up for the app which will make it easier for you to order. The display is clear but the numbers confuse the fact that you get a free options of your choice from the list as well as have the option for paying additionally for a different set. I thought it was delicious and I loved what they offer. It's a cute little store and basically a little bit challenging to find because it's tucked away nicely. One thing that stood out is the fact that they offer water. That is rare. I was tired at the time and it was difficult to figure out the system and I spoke to someone there and he understood how I thought the sign could be improved. It's not the role of someone working there to listen to every little thought of another person but I am a top reviewer and I elevate local businesses so I was impressed with the responsiveness of the people there to listen to my thoughts. I thought the falafel was great and I loved all the toppings it's just really sensational amidst lots of unhealthy choices one could have gotten nearby by not going there. So I will definitely be going back and signing up for the app and I really think this is a place to consider as well as several other people told me it's great. I definitely think they have something here and I think with a few simple refinements it can really be a very strong offering and it basically already is. I think that many places are reticent to offer water so I definitely think this is a pretty strong recommend if not basically a strong recommend. I will update this review the next time I go. Check it out if you like and enjoy. Have a great day.

Love their Jasmine rice. There’s just something about it. My order typically has a lot of toppings and I ask for extra! Its possible that when you ask for a lot that the staff forgets an ingredient. So make sure to doublecheck your bowl before you leave if you plan on ordering a lot!

Ordered a Chicken Shawarma and Falafel bowl, and it was delicious! Everything tasted fresh, and it was delivered on time.

Great meal that includes falafel and 8 different toppings of your choice. Great value for money.

Consistently one of the better falafel places downtown... The food is always good, and lines are to be expected during busy hours. This location is the original one, and seating is limited to 4-5 people inside this small "room.". Service, however, has taken a tumble when we visited on 11/15/19, as the original founders are no longer there, so have to rely on workers who are obviously not too thrilled with serving the crowds. So come here for the food but that's it.

Great food! Fresh, delicious and filling! Everything here is fantastic you can't go wrong! The Falfel balls are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating

Overall: With some of the best falafel I've ever had, Taim's reputation doesn't disappoint. If you have any itch for falafel, stop by and grab some! The good: The.best.falafel.ever! It was hot, soft on the inside yet crunchy on the outside, and has a great kick to it. It's not spicy by any means, but there's something there that makes it special. The salad I got came with 6 pieces and a generous base with some tasty tahini sauce. It may not have been the healthiest salad, but I don't give a damn after having it. The not-so-good: Small space, only seats 3-4 inside and 2-3 outside on their bench. So you're better off ordering for takeout, which sucks because the falafel is best hot and fresh. Also, a tad pricey for a salad, and the salad itself had a touch too much dressing on it. Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 10/10

Amazing food!! Loved the flavors. The Falafel were so perfect. Moist yet so crunchy. The spice levels are on point and the whole bowl was a flavor bomb!

Taim is by far my favourite food joint in NYC. Their falafel has consistently been of the highest quality. The two options they offer are green and harissa falafel which are both delicious. Service is very quick and staff is pretty friendly.
I Just Want To Eat
It’s been a while since we went to Taim, an Israeli vegetarian restaurant with few locations in the city. So, as we were going to a cooking class downtown in the Summer that started at 12pm, we decided to stop there for a quick bite. Good that we went early as they only have few seats! We decided to order two things: the babaganouj that is a spread made with eggplant with a nice smokiness, and, instead of falafel that Taim is known for, we ordered their sabich, a sandwich made with fried eggplant, egg, hummus, tahini, parsley, Israeli salad, pickled cabbage and amba, a tanguy mango pickle condiment popular apparently in the Middle East. I love this sandwich that has so many layers of flavors but know that it can be a bit challenging to eat because the pita pocket is so filled that it can break apart.

I had heard others rave about Taïm, the storefront falafel place in the West Village from Israeli chef Einat Admony (Kish-Kash, Balaboosta). There are five locations of this chain; this one plus others in Nolita, Midtown East, Flatiron and the Financial District. We couldn’t miss the three people sitting on the small bench outside the restaurant about to dig into their food. One had a colorful mixed falafel platter ($12.95) with both the green and harissa falafel, hummus, Israeli salad, pickled cabbage, shifka peppers, tahini, za’atar and a pita. Taïm, which means tasty in Hebrew, packs the green ones with parsley, cilantro and mint, the harissa with a signature spice blend and the red with roasted red pepper.

Tasty - Just like it is called

Very small place, 5 people behind the counter, 3 high chairs facing out and a bench out doors.

The air conditioner leaks on you when you walk in or out but the vegetarian food is worth it.

The servers are nice and friendly and the falafel is fresh as well as the pita and condiments.

I highly recommend it!

A great place for vegetarian Mediterranean fare, it's a small eatery mainly for takeaways. We ordered a Greek salad, falafel salad, fries with saffron aioli and honey ginger lemonade. Huge portions, the harrisa balls were delicious and so was the lemonade.

My green felafel sandwich with added babbaganoush really hit the spot. I was visiting from Melbourne and after some really wonderful but indulgent meals in New York, I was craving something nutritious and simple. Taim delivered. The felafel itself was crunchy outside and soft and herby inside and surrounded by smooth hummus, crunchy Israeli salad and soft pita. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5/5 is because Las Du Felafel in Paris has to be number one.

Good match on options, taste, quantity & prices. Tried their Falafel platter - not overwhelmed but happy. The cashier lady wasn't very clear explaining the stuff (not that she was impolite or anything) so I had to go back in the line to take a moment to figure it out myself. Had a good dinner otherwise.

I lived in Isreal 35 years ago and visited many times since and I'm a big fan of Israeli food. Taim is hands down the best I have had in the states and can compete with any falafel shop in Isreal. Rude cashier but it must be a tough job as the place is packed. Inexpensive, fast and top notch ingredients, Going back again today before I fly back home to LA

Sure, you can get cheaper falafel elsewhere in the city, but nothing compares to Taïm. NYU students have a penchant for the incredibly cheap Mamoun’s, but I can guarantee you that Taïm is a billion times better.

Definitely the best falafel I've had! I had the green falafel and just when I thought I had eaten the best part of the filling and was left with just the salad, there were more falafel balls!

"Tasty". This would make a a falafel lover out of anyone. Delicious spices, moist inside, crisp outside and not greasy. Great fillings to choose from after you pick which of the 3 falafel flavors you want. Truly great fries with aioli help put this meal over the edge. Beverage choices are lovely, too.

Delicious, light falafel. I got the falafel platter, expecting it to be way too big/heavy to finish in one sitting. For better or for worse, it turned out to be too delicious to resist, though I was left surprisingly happy (without the normal cheap falafel oily sheen that I normally get post-hummus/chickpea indulgence).

Great falafel sandwiches!. This place is really a gem. It's real small but packed with people wanting some falafel. Fresh ingredients and a nice selection of sandwiches. If you like falafel, this place is a must eat.

Great little spot. I'd recommend stopping off at Taim, a lovely little Arabic themed veggie cafe in the Village. I had a restorative strawberry, raspberry and Thai basil smoothie combined with a snack of smoky baba ganoush on a slightly charred and obviously fresh pita.

Great Stuff!. I haven't really attempted a best-falafel-in-NYC search, but of the few I've had so far, this place is definitely the best. Plus, I love having the three options for the falafel! I do wish this place weren't tucked away in a tiny space with no ac, but then I went on one of the hottest days we had this summer.

Worth the wait, eat somewhere else. This place is worth the wait, but it's pretty much impossible to eat inside OR outside of the restaurant.

Worth calling ahead if you can. However the website is down so I'm not sure if you can do this.

***** AWESOME *****. Perhaps the best falafel sandwiches I had since the Jewish Quarter of Paris. The falafel is crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. A perfect eatery sensation. I might add there are 3 different flavors of falafel that you can try as a sampler before you order your main dish. But is was the sabich pita sandwich that really turned me on last week. The sabich is stuffed with fried egglant, with a sliced hard boiled egg, hummus, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, and parsley in a lemon mint dressing, marinated cabbage, tahini, and amba (pickled mango sauce). Every bite is full of creamy, crunchy, and saucy goodness. Never have I had this delicious dish before but I can't wait to have it again. One last thing.... there is not much room for sitting. So plan to visit on off hours or finding an outside park bench or your car to feast on the goodness of Taim!!!!

Great falafels in a very tight space!

Every time I know I’m going back to NYC, I dream of Taim falafel. I love this place so hard! It’s cheap. Under $7 for a falafel sandwich. I have a standing order. Red falafel (Their flavors are red, green, and harissa. The red flavor contains red pepper.)

This is the favourite place of Mme R. A tiny snack bar with no specific charm, but this is where you will try the best Manhattan falafel.

The falafels are among the best I’ve had in the city so far. The green falafels are good, the harissa falafels are better, but my favourite are the red pepper falafels. There’s something about red pepper based foods that I totally love – it imparts a distinct flavour.

This falafel explodes with Mediterranean flavours. They have the perfect texture, crispy exterior with a soft interior. The toppings are all extremely fresh tasting, the hummous was excellent as well (may I add that it was a very generous portion). I would have to guess there were approximately 6/7 large falafel balls stuffed into a single pita.

"You must go to Taim... You must go to Taim" My sister haunted me with these words ever since my last trip to NYC last November. "They make the best falafels EVER!" , I kept hearing her say it. I didn't get a chance to go on my last trip and she was quite persistent that I make the trip this time. For someone who's not into falafels, or deep fried food for that matter, her acclaims had led me to wonder how good this place actually is. To led my sister, a non deep-fry eater to rave about the food, this place must be something special. On my last day to roam NYC, despite having a rather large brunch a few hours earlier, it wasn't about to stop me from making a trip to the last place on my list, Taim, home of the best falafels. Located in the West Village, we arrived the small and humble space to find a long line up of patrons (mostly in their 20's - 30's) spilling from inside the shop. Although it wasn't so much a sit-down spot, and more like a get in and get out kinda deal with techno m

Pictured here is the Falafal Platter which consisted of falafal balls, hummus, quinoa salad, israeli salad, pita, and sauces. Delicious! Especially when washed down with a nice cold beverage.

I HAVE TO MAKE a concerted effort—especially over a summer of barbecue and other grilled meats—to round out my diet with some healthier fare. Remembering this, after eating grilled Italian sausage sandwiches in my friend’s bar’s backyard yesterday evening
