Since it was our first time, we had a lot of questions about the food. Our server was very warm and accommodating. He answered all our questions and made recommendations. Hummus with soujuk was the best I've ever had! We enjoyed the Mixed Grill (Filet Mignon cubed, Chicken Taouk, Kafta & Baby Lamb Chops) cooked to perfection. Their baklava was legit! For coffee lovers, I recommend trying Armenian coffee. It's very rich and bold. Overall it was a great Armenian dining experience!
Fantastic restaurant.
They have delicious Armenian/Lebanese food.
Highly professional staff.
You should definitely order Baklava, it is the best in the world.
If you wanna feel at home (In Armenia) it is must place in NY.
I had dinner here with some friends as part of Restaurant Week, and I was not disappointed. The service was superb and the food was even better! The staff took the time to explain and recommend menu items for us. The drinks were delicious too!
We are visiting from Manila, Philippines. Went to Almayass on a Sunday night with mom. It was actually our first time to eat Armenian food. First thing I noticed was the ambiance of the restaurant. It was fancy and cozy.
We ordered mixed grilled meat. The server will also ask you beforehand how do you like your meat: rare, medium-rare or well-done. The servers are nice and attentive. Btw, we chose well-done. It has chicken, beef, lamb and etc.. we find the grilled beef as the best in the selection.
For appetizers we had an Armenian Salad. I am not a fan of cucumbers but the vinegar made it flavorful. So yup, was able to eat it. Also, we had Hummus with beef and pine nuts paired with crackers and pita bread. It was so good.
We also had Mantee traditional (beef). I dunno but it kind of reminds me of siomai and lasagna at the same time but in a good way. Haha!
Overall, I would give 5 stars for service, ambiance and taste. Will recommend and come back again whenever I go yo NY to visit my brother.

Finally an awesome Lebanese restaurant in NYC. The starters were so great we had to try them all and couldn't even order an entree, because we were full. We have to come back another day for them. Great food, service and atmosphere. Definitively on the pricier side but worth every penny.
Delicious middle eastern food! The front of the house was very welcoming and helpful. The dessert is a must try...
The people working here were super nice. They had to accommodate a large surprise party and did a great job. Everything they offered in their courses tastes incredible. I'm not sure about the prices because it was covered by the other guests, but I would love to go to this restaurant again.
Great experience. Excellent service with good selection of food. Hummus was awesome. Just the right amount of garlic! Every course was served promptly and all 13 in our party enjoyed the evening. Quite the accomplishment to keep that many happy at a single table!
Excellent Mediterranean food restaurant. The cuisine is Lebanese-Armenian. You can come here as a vegetarian, but really the meat is incredible here. Splitting the mixed grill with someone is a great idea for dinner. The staff were all very nice, and the prices were worth it for how delicious the meat was!

This Mediterranean (Lebanese/Armenian) restaurant is a gem in New York City. Had gone here to celebrate a very special occasion. It was a memorable evening. Right from the time we entered the restaurant till the time we left, which was about 2-3 hours, it felt walking in the clouds. The decor of the restaurant is simple and subtly beautiful that it is a joy to be there. The hostess was extremely courteous and polite. Our main server was absolutely wonderful. Right through the evening, his approach to the table was timed so perfectly that it never felt like an interruption or an intrusion. The way the order was taken, to the way the drinks and then the food was served was perfectly smooth flow. Had ordered a bottle of Armenian wine - Karas. It was excellent. For the food to be perfectly cooked and so delicious, I feel the chef must really enjoy cooking the food. The presentation was amazingly good. The 5 stars are just not enough for this restaurant as it was not just about good and delicious food. It was an overall experience of the place, of all the people involved in not only making the food, but the presentation and service and their attitude towards the guests. This satisfying and memorable experience makes this my absolute favorite restaurant in NYC.
