A truly exceptional meal—perhaps the first true two-star Michelin experience we’ve had in Manhattan (surpassing other 3* in NYC earned through celebrity and not substance). All around an absolute pleasure for all the senses. There were several twists that worked very well like bringing the bread after the third course. Another was the diversity of the servers presenting the dishes while still maintaining our head server’s role prominently—it felt very appropriate in a city like NYC. This paired well with the flawless composition and execution of the dishes and the serene yet sensory rich atmosphere. Two stars fully earned!!!

Hands down, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I waited tables all through college and the service here was next level. They didn't miss a thing. And the food...just magnificent. We did the chef's tasting menu and the wine pairing and it was expensive, but well worth it. Not sure that we'll be making a return trip because of the price but it was something that everyone should splurge on at least once.

The Modern is a great dining experience and a fantastic way to break up the day when visiting MOMA. I went for lunch in the dining room and had the 4 course menu. It included the 4 courses plus the bread. Each course was delicious in its own way, but the famous eggs on eggs on eggs really stood out. The extra brioche is a nice tough too cause you'll certainly want more. They have an extensive wine and cocktail list, and I was very happy with the affordability of the whole experience given how they have 2 stars. Service was attentive and never felt rushed. I was dining solo, so the extra little chit chat with me from the staff is always welcome (but never expected). My only disappointment was when leaving, I didn't want to subtract a star from this since it was outside the dining experience, but I wasn't let back into the museum. I called a few days earlier and asked if I could reenter from the restaurant and they said yes as long as you show your ticket. I had my ticket out but was told I need to go outside and reenter through the main entrance. Well unfortunately it was pouring and the line was quite long. Just be aware that if you're dining you probably won't be let back into the museum.

I like to enjoy a meal while viewing museums garden. Meals are perfect if I don't have any allergies. Gluten-free bread is fried bread and has a lot of oil. It use avocado as a substitute for shrimp.

Stunning location within MoMa. Had the 4-course menu over lunch. Produce was top notch, however dishes lacked the final refinement I know and expect from a 2-star venue. Eggs amuse was fantastic. Scallop starter was well designed but way too salt forward in execution. Same goes for the lobster, I also found some residual shell pieces on the tail. Cheese selection was fantastic again. Service was professional, not overly personal but on par. I'm tempted to give 3 stars because, in my opinion, food was borderline oversalted, and execution was not on par. But I'll go with 4 for the benefit of the doubt since wine selection and cocktail also were to a high standard. Maybe the kitchen just had a bad day.

BEST meal of my life!!!! I wish I could give this 6 stars because I truly fell in love with every dish. I am shocked why this 2 star Michelin restaurant doesn't have its third but I'm rooting for it. When you first walk in, the restaurant is split into an energetic, lively, casual dining area and then further back there's a more upscale, quieter area with a gorgeous view of the MoMa. My husband and I did the tasting menu and honestly every dish was fantastic and it's so hard to pick a favorite. I'd have to say the lobster and steak dishes were my favorites and then the chocolate dessert was incredible. Do not forget to have the whole grain sourdough bread that is crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside with the most incredible butter. We each got 3 pieces because it was the best. And with that, our service was so perfect. Our waiter chatted with us after every entree and got genuinely excited for us after each dish. My waitress also recommended the amazing Guajillo cocktail- it had a great kick and it’s a little creamy! I've already told my friends it's the best fancy restaurant we've been to so we cannot wait to come back.

The restaurant was sort of hidden in the corner and the security had to open the door for us. Once inside, we saw that it was an excellent environment, looking out to the courtyard of MoMA. We came for lunch, and there was the option of 4 course prix fixe vs 5 course tasting menu. The appetizer "eggs on eggs on eggs", is a signature dish, and tastes as good as it looks. The next course we picked lobster salad and scallop, the ingredients were top notch but the sauce really added another dimension. Our entree choices were duck and beef, and while the beef was very good, the duck was unparalleled in that the meat was tender (not chewy) while the skin was crispy, through and through flavorful. Finally we had the chocolate tart and lemon froyo. Putting lemon together with sesame is an inspired decision, wouldn't have thought of it myself. Great meal, worth the accolades.

The Modern is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Everything was flawless from A-Z and it has honestly become one of the most special memories in my lifetime now. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 2-year anniversary during lunch time and we decided on the Prix Fixe (150 per person) option, which comes with 4 courses. For the first course, they bless you with a dish called the "eggs on eggs on eggs", which is a nicely presented dish with a poached egg yolk with egg custard, caviar, and a perfectly toasted brioche garnished with pickled onion and dill. It was an AMAZING start to the meal and they give you additional brioche to ensure that you appropriately scoop as much of the dish as you can. For the second and third course, we got the hiramasa with yuzu, radish and frozen olive oil and the scallop with celeriac ravioli, aged parmesan and spinach, as well as the grilled lobster, romaine lettuce and spicy chorizo and the venison glazed in cognac with turnips and black truffle. Everything was wonderful, but we especially loved the hiramasa and the venison dishes. The hiramasa and yuzu concoction is extremely refreshing and the venison is the best I've ever had / basically melted in your mouth. I would highly recommend picking these two together. Lastly, for the fourth/dessert course, we chose the chocolate tart with buckwheat and milk ice cream and the lemon frozen yogurt with black sesame. We were both in awe, and for me, I was especially in awe at the lemon frozen yogurt dessert dish. It was so aesthetically beautiful and I loved the crunchy texture that was added. It felt like a deconstructed lemon bar, but on steroids. Since it was our anniversary, the chef kindly sent over an additional dessert that was influenced by the classic dole whip, which was a pleasant surprise and was absolutely delicious too (especially because there was a candle included. So cute!). Also, the classic cocktails are so well-made here! I highly recommend the espresso martini, the dirty martini, and the manhattan. Overall, we loved this restaurant SO much, but what greatly stood out to us was the service and the kitchen. Our server, Ulysses, was easily one of the best servers we have ever been graced with. He is literally the epitome of a perfect server - personable, funny, charming, genuine, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and professional. During our trip, he surprised us with a kitchen tour where we got to meet the head chef, Tom Allen, as well as the kitchen staff, and I swear, I am still thinking about all the emotions I felt there. My boyfriend and I had never been to a true Michelin star restaurant and we are always watching YouTube videos about how a successful NYC restaurant runs, and to be immersed into it, be given the chance to take photos, and to meet the head chef (who is SUCH a cool, talented, welcoming, and friendly guy too by the way) and hardworking team, I couldn't help but get teary eyed in there. This is a very long review, but I wanted to tell our story as best as I could, so that you can vividly understand how phenomenal this restaurant is. I absolutely encourage everyone to visit this restaurant at least once because it is an experience of a lifetime! Thank you so much again to Ulysses and the Modern for everything :)

Came here for a dinner and a conversation with an economist, the food was quite good although very small portions on the appetozer bites. They had a sommelier talk about different Pinot noirs, he was funny but I'm not that much of a Pinot noir person. They have a room in the side back for larger parties to be isolated. I've also had food here in the kitchen like their truffle pasta and that was very good. Steak was a little on the dry side and they didn't ask how I wanted the steak which was a little weird.
