Review Cherry Coffee Roasters - New Orleans

Gary Kao
Awesome coffee shop. Loved the vibe and assortment of seating options. Got an espresso flight and was gifted a free mini ceramic sculpture of an espresso flight that one of their employees made. It was very cute.

Living in Virginia… my first time to Cherry Coffee Roasters. Decided on the avocado toast. It was absolutely phenomenal. I wanted to lick the plate… it was THAT GOOD! Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again!

We loved Cherry Coffee Roasters so much that we went twice on our little weekend trip! The espresso martini was amazing and their ham & cheese croissant and sausage, egg, & cheese biscuit were also delicious. Would definitely recommend!

I love the ambience, especially early in the morning as the sun is rising. The place has a great neighborhood vibe. The baristas are kind and always seem happy to see you. Love the coffee - it’s never bitter. But their sausage biscuit is definitely the thing to get for breakfast

Great spot, always delivers. The tasting card with the espresso was a nice touch and helped to appreciate the flavors more. When it’s warm out it’s like the cold brew and chai scone were just meant to be!

Solid espresso - but everything is about 10% more than as-good options on the east side of the city. Definitely aiming for a more traditional coffee house feel rather than anything unique to NO. Espresso (which I had by itself) was good but not remarkable - well brewed but not extraordinary beans. (The machine is gorgeous, though.) Employees were nice.

Really nice place to have coffee and breakfast! And it’s only one ☝️ place which was open by 6:30 for a good reach coffee around us! They even had my simple and healthy out meal, which for some reason is really hard to find here in New Orleans. Looks really new and clean, like modern New Orleans’ style Starbucks.

Excellent espresso drinks, some of the best I had in New Orleans. Great iced tea. Less sure about the food options as I didn't try much. Very cool spot as well.

One of the best cortados I’ve had. Vegan cookie options. Open, airy, down to earth atmosphere. It’s got the quality medium roasts of a third wave coffee place without the overly modern austerity.

I love Cherry Coffee Roasters (formally Cherry Espresso). They have been one of my favorite shops for years. I can always count on getting a good cup of coffee, usually drip or seasonal pour over options. It’s also a great place to remote work if you need a place that has some energy to it, isn’t too quiet, and has good coffee/food and Wi-Fi!

Perfect coffee shop with excellent espresso and delicious healthy food. The music, atmosphere, and layout makes Cherry a perfect work/study spot. Good wifi and plenty of outlets. 🍒

Such an adorable hidden gem. Had the pumpkin latte with oat milk. It was light with a pleasant flavor that didn’t mask the coffee with too much sweetness if you know what I mean

I could not write this review fast enough. I had such a lovely experience at this coffee shop, even before they went above and beyond for me while I was on vacation. The barista (Katie) from the moment we walked in the door was a breath of fresh (or cool in this heat) air. She was welcoming and so charismatic, the drinks were perfect and delicious. The coffeeshop itself has a charm and its nice, quiet and residential. Now the above and beyond part, during my time at the coffee shop I misplaced my keys and multiple people spent time helping me search for them. We eventually gave up, but Katie took down our information. Turns out someone walked away with them by accident, we returned to collect the keys and Katie hosted us kindly after closing. Truly such an amazing display of southern hospitality and goodwill. I am not sure I could ever express my gratitude fully in a google review.

This coffee shop has a lot going for it--cool vibe, trendy decor, delicious food (tried the lox bagel... Yum!) and tasty coffee. Plenty of indoor and even some outdoor seating! It was within walking distance of our BnB and we were able to stop in after taking the dogs to the dog park across the street. We will be back for our next visit!

The staff here is so friendly! Always welcome you with a smile. Super cool vibe. I love getting iced americanos especially since the espresso shots are doubles!!! 🥳

Amazing craft coffee shop with perfect espresso shots.

Cute hip lad back vibe...if your in a hurry this place may not be you,,,The iced coffee seemed a bit mellow for me as I like it strong and bold but it was good for this morning...The espresso was heaven and the shot of soda water on the side was a nice refresher. Would definitely go again on a lazy Sunday when I have time to burn...

One of the best coffee spots in the city! Lattes are always delicious & the staff is always so kind and actually care about how you're doing. :)

I go here almost every day. The coffee and espresso are all high quality, the people are so friendly and knowledgeable, and the new food is amazing. Get yourself an iced latte and the quinoa bowl with avocado creme & cotillijo, you will not be disappointed. It's a chill work environment or good for work meetings, and you have the option of taking a break on the adorable little patio. I live in the neighborhood and can vouch for both Cherry and their patrons as excellent neighbors. Awesome addition to the neighborhood :)

Cherry Espresso Bar is without a doubt the very best coffee in New Orleans. In my opinion, nothing even comes close. Every cup has been perfect and delicious. I consider it a treat, on the mornings that I have time, to stop by on my way to work, and enjoy a cup of this wonderful coffee.

Had the brisket hash - OMG, soooooooooo good! Great atmosphere! And vegan selections for my vegan friend!

The shop is so bright and happy! The service from the staff is great as well as the coffee served. Great selection of food items in a friendly environment.

Best coffee in New Orleans. A small but tasty food menu and a comfy atmosphere inside a restored garage.

Beautiful and inside and out; what a plumb spot! (And plumb building.) New but so New Orleans. An example if the best of the groovification of post-Katrina New Orleans. The young woman barrista took special care of my 5-yr-old, bringing him fresh whipped cream for his hot chocolate. 😊☕️

One of the best places to get coffee in New Orleans.

Very knowledgable barista (owner?) Lauren. Busy but also quiet and serious atmosphere. Great to pop into and get a bit of remote work done for an hour or so.

As a former batista, if you make someone the wrong beverage, offer to remake the correct one. Just spent $4 on a drink I didn't order possible because barista was chatting to coworker while making it. Could've pressed the point and asked him to make me the correct beverage but decided not to bother.

Epically high-quality coffee. Competent, quirky, friendly baristas, from owner Lauren on down. The food (prepared til 1pm by Wayne, formerly of Lilette and other fine places) is ridiculously good for a coffee shop. The southwest salad (baby greens, black beans, quinoa, cheese) was big but light, tasty, fresh. This coming weekend they are rolling out a whole bunch of new food items that sound utterly amazing (Wayne gave me a preview): toasted quinoa salad, aged cheddar gooey grilled sandwich, all kinds of really original mixes of ingredients. I love how Cherry is noticeably generating more community and foot traffic in that part of our Uptown hood. It is Laurel a couple blocks riverside of Magazine. The recently refreshed park in front of Cherry's is awesome, and anchoring the other end is Grits (fantastic, historic dive bar). Your kids or dogs run around, you meet some neighbors, catch up on gossip, bitch about how terrible Mayor Mao Landrieu is, grab some coffee on one side, or a beer on the other. Or both. Very different in feel from the other awesome coffee shops within about 10 blocks (Hey Cafe downriver on Magazine, and upriver Cafe Luna, Hi Volt, District, plus regional chains CCs and PJs). Frankly, I wish Cherry were less Portland and more New Orleans. Displaying a vintage pic of the old firehouse before it was Cherry, play WWOZ instead). And wish it were open later than 5. It has solid wi-fi, a variety of seating (a couple couches, and plenty of hard chairs and tables). And sunny patio. Overall, I really love this place.

In a corner of Stein's Deli I discovered the Cherry Espresso Bar, an expert and very friendly barista, Alex, and a free refill for a delicious cup of coffee, a perfect start to this visit to New Orleans.

Literally nothing wrong. This place is pretty dope on all levels.
