Great old school New Orleans dive bar. Cheap eats and live music. What more do you want?

Great jam band bar. Good bar food!

Best place to enjoy a Fabulous Blues Jam. Danny Alexander, the Jam host and great musician in his own right, really attracts wonderful musicians from all over the world. Bar food is not so great and don't expect fancy cocktails. Friendly and fun dive bar with a cast of characters.

Showed up hungry as one of our last stops before leaving Mardi Gras. Came here on the persistent recommendation that they had the best burgers in town. This no fuss bar, music venue and restaurant didn't disappoint. Rolled through on an early Sunday evening to get a final bite and drink before we headed back home. Upon walking in I noticed we were getting side eye and unpleasant vibes from some of the customers. Living in Mississippi I've gotten kind of used to it so sat down at the bar and started chatting with the bartender. In true Mardi Gras fashion, our bartender was incredibly cool and attentive, but horse from all the yelling and screaming during celebrations. We ordered a couple beers while deciding our burgers, which ended up being a bacon cheeseburger and the breakfast burger. While I won't wade into a 'best of the city' debate, these were the best burgers I've had since I moved from my other favorite spot. Nice thick cut and crispy bacon, and the burgers were juicy and cooked to order and doneness. We didn't order mixed drinks as we were hitting the highway soon. So more to the weird vibes, during our meal. It became apparent that the band was very Christian and so the small crowd followed suit. So when we walked in, still dressed in our sacrilegious nun/pastor outfits from the Box of Wine parade we were in, we probably drew the ire of a few patrons. No worries, had a good laugh with the bartender and moved on with our night. It's a little longer walk from where I usually stay in midtown, but I'll definitely add this place to my regular rotation when in town.

My wife and I were searching for a nice blues venue in the New Orleans area. We found a few, but chose this one. Boy am I glad we did. The burger we had was the best, and the live music was great.

What a special little place!! We went in and sat at the bar, not super busy. Great time to go I guess! There was music on the screens, and clips from different movies! I guess the bartender switches things up and keeps things fresh, it was 007 on Sat!! They do have live music, but we were in earlier so didn't catch it. But here's what was fantastic, we ordered burgers! Hahahaha!! These burgers were hand made, really fresh meat, beautifully put together, mouth watering good!! While we were really enjoying these amazing burgers, the cook came out and asked how our food was, then sat at the bar and talked with us! We had an enjoyable time there between the great conversation with the cook, the bartender was just as fun and friendly! We discussed older movies and music! I cannot wait to go back next time I make it back to New Orleans!! You really need to experience this for yourself!! Go eat, or drink and listen to the band or hang out earlier and visit with the staff!! Or do all three!! No matter what you do there, you will have a great time!!

We were invited to DMac by Danny Alexander, who was playing that night. We had a great night. Drinks were great, music was outstanding, the crowd was friendly and we won the costume contest. This will definitely be a stop next time we come back to New Orleans.

What a great place! Our airbnb was only a couple blocks away, and dmac’s quickly became our favorite bar. Bartenders and kitchen staff were all very friendly! Fox (one of the bartenders) shared stories and experiences with my husband & I. We attended a jazz jam sessiin on a Monday night, which was amazing! The owner was there and made sure he stopped by our table (and others) to introduce himself. We actually got married while in NOLA, and we headed here that evening after for celebratory beers. The bartender that night was incredibly sweet and even came around the bar to take a few pics for us. Highly recommend! Next time we visit, we will definitely stop back in!

i came here twice, and it’s small but it’s really friendly inside. the food was fresh, I ordered a burger and fries. It tasted fresh, and you can see the ladies in the kitchen making fresh food. The server was really sweet, and continued to make sure I was ok! I would return.

We want to support our friends Mickie James, she played that country and it was great. The venue was really cool, a good place to go any weekend.
