I love afternoon teas, and the afternoon tea at Le Salon ranks in the top 2 as compared to afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton in Virginia or teas in France, the UK, and Canada, or other places in the United States.
Make sure you book reservations at the Afternoon Tea in the lobby (on the right as you enter). It is available on Friday - Sunday 11 am - 2 pm. We made reservations for 1:00 pm to give us some time after the delicious breakfast at the Grill Room at Windsor Court and before we left to catch our plane.
There was live harp music (or piano music), and a wonderful genteel setting with comfortable couches and chairs. The harp music was very special and elevating, since it has been quite a while since I have heard it. I thought the strawberry pattern china and lace placemats were a perfect setting for the tea.
Tea includes a drink (wine, champagne, poinsettia - champagne plus cranberry juice), a pot of tea (menu in the pictures), lovely finger sandwiches (chicken curry, smoked salmon, crab on cucumber, egg salad) and two scones and desserts plus the normal lemon curd, Devonshire cream, whipped cream, and raspberry jam.
The waitress poured refills on the tea.
After all the sightseeing and walking around in the French Quarter and the museums, ending the trip to NOLA with a relaxing, soothing, elegant, and delicious afternoon tea was very memorable.

Lovely teatime with a great selection of teas and finger foods. They were very accommodating of a nut allergy I have. Lovely harpist played while we were there, setting the mood!

Having afternoon tea at Le Salon is an absolute must try experience especially if your staying at the Windsor Court. The room is beautifully filled with a nice mix of couches and tables, it is very elegant. The service was fantastic and the tea, sandwiches, and desserts were to die for! I couldn't recommend Le Salon highly enough. I am sure little girls and their mothers would love this place as well for special occasions.

Had the best time at le salon! Make sure to sit in Lisa’s section. She knows how to recommend tea and is so welcoming and lovely. Had tea with a friend and we were able to catch up and enjoy delicious sandwiches and pastries. Harp was playing the whole time and it was so cozy.

Always a treat! Le Salon is fabulous for gracious family gatherings and celebratory business meetings alike. The surroundings are comfortable and plush, the live harp or piano music lends a lovely backdrop to the conversation, and the service is impeccable.

My friends and I attended high tea while on vacation. One of us had never done so before so we had a first timer with us. I like to do high tea whenever I travel to get new experiences and this one was top notch. The elegance of the environment, the level of class the server had, the elevated flavors of the food, the selection of amazing tea, and even the cocktail that came with the purchase of the tea was amazing. Our server heard me talking about how I always get Earl Grey even though something else might look good and she let us try her favorite tea on the menu. I ended up liking it even more than my own selection and my friend even bought a few bags of it to take home. The food offerings were amazing with good variety and quality ingredients. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a nice afternoon snack.

Started off with a glass of champagne, then our choice of tea along with finger sandwiches. We then enjoyed 2 more courses of scones then desserts while enjoying a pianist playing in the background. Our waitresses were extremely helpful and attentive. Do not fear if this is your first time, they were very helpful in walking us through options, etc. Cannot wait to come back again!

Catalina was our very able server and our party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our tea experience. The pastries and small bites were delicious and the tea wonderful. It was such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, with soothing live piano music and comfortable surroundings. 10/10 would recommend.

It's back on, Y'all, and today, 10.18, my birthday! Tea service had been cancelled for a while due to virus matter. Was so disappointed as wanted to come today for my birthday as this was our family tradition. I made a reservation for lunch at fabulous Grill Room in the hotel instead. When I arrived an hour ago, the Le Salon hostess was at the entrance and said...we're open again for tea service as of today! Ask, and you shall receive! So here I am enjoying my British afternoon tea service, a tradition here in New Orleans for my family and so happy. Birthday wish comes true!

Save your money. Overpriced and utterly disappointing. The tea was at first too weak and then sat long enough to be bitter and over-brewed. The sandwiches were stale, one worse than the next and the scones were dried out. When I asked the waitress for hot milk with the tea, I was regaled with a litany of the difficulties involved. Warm milk was ultimately provided, which as good because the tea was cold. But no matter, the Salon was crowded and sweltering, who would have wanted hot tea anyway, right? Shame on a hotel that pretends to be a luxury hotel guided by British traditions. You can get a better cuppa in London at any fish and chips stand, and at those prices, I could soon save up to fly there.

The perfection of a tradition.. Upon arriving, my wife and I are seated in exquisitely comfortable chairs at the beautiful and luxurious Le Salon at Windsor Court. A harpist begins playing a melody... and the ambiance is heavenly.<br/><br/>Our server welcomes us to our seating and displays notable professionalism and well-versed competency. The table is prepared neatly and with careful attention to detail.<br/><br/>The tea sandwiches are masterfully done and beautifully presented. From the caviar, to the smoked salmon, to the egg salad, to the lobster cucumber, and to the traditional cucumber, all are delicious.<br/><br/>We chose the Jasmine Tea, steeped perfectly and with a lovely perfume from the floral nature of this tea. <br/><br/>The scones were exceptionally well done and of perfect size, with excellent lemon curd, clotted cream, vanilla cream and jam as accoutrements. Delicious.<br/><br/>The dainty sweets were a beautiful final note to a fantastic tea service.<br/><br/>For the most exceptional tea experience in the New Orleans metropolitan area, Le Salon is known by locals as the definitive place to visit for such an occasion. Highly recommended!

Horns, screaming and lookey-loos, oh my!. Perhaps my expectations were too high but with descriptions on their website that include the words 'elegant', 'salon' and 'grill room' I thought that implied a room with a door...like a restaurant. I was not expecting to be seated in the open lobby by the front door at checkout time. Do not attend the 11am tea unless you don't mind listening to the yelling of families exiting and the honking horns of the turnaround....and with the horrible traffic pattern in the turnaround the honking is constant and your arrival and departure are far less than elegant. For me the atmosphere ruined the entire experience and took it way below the $50 after tax and tip price per person. Le Salon is not for an intimate, relaxing, pampering moment with girlfriends, as I had assumed...it's a snack in a busy hotel lobby. <br/><br/>As for the tea service itself, the cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and tea were lovely. The sandwich course was very pretty but a bit bland. The scones and jams were great. The petit fours and chocolates were underwhelming..the flavor of fat and sugar but not much else though my neice enjoyed the chocolate covered strawberries.<br/><br/>I will not return or bring any more of my out of town guests. I was looking for a elegant feeling that is not found at Le Salon.
