The best in New Orleans, no question. The owner is a great, the staff is as well, nice dining room, and the menu is varied and great. Come for the best sushi in town (menu as well as their specialty rolls) and stay to explore the rest of the menu. Don't qualify its place in New Orleans as the best sushi place; it's one of New Orleans' best restaurants, period.
Tried and trusted. One of the the best sushi places in town, if not the best. Excellent sushi, value and they are fast also. My go to feel good place!
Love this place. They offer a wide arrange of choices for your palate, paired with affordable prices and a drive thru option on top. This place is located around the corner from my place, so it's always an obvious choice.
Friendly staff. Clean. Good food.
Have been going there for years and will keep going back.
My daughter, Grandson and myself decided on sushi, my niece and the hotel concierge recommended Mikimoto Japanese Restaurant. We enjoyed the food and the Saki very much..it's a very small place and you may have to wait, but it's worth it.
All the food is delicious but I particularly like the tuna carpaccio, caviar brothers, and avocado deluxe salad.
Turner maki is one of my favorite rolls. I've been patronizing this place for 12yrs and I still love the service
Extensive menu, delicious food, friendly prompt service.
Sushi is fresh, Jackie Chan, the owner, is extremely friendly and runs an amazing restaurant!!!
Eat here a lot. Great food and great service. Love it!
The Best Sushi in the City.(period) I have no hesitation in saying so.
BEST SUSHI PLACE IN THE WORLD
Joined some friends this evening for a new (to me) sushi spot. After checking some of the reviews I’ve come to realize this is a very popular place. When I saw the “poyboy” roll, I knew I had to try it. Guess what....tastes just like a poboy. Not sure if that is a good thing or not! But it was tasty- shrimp, crab, crawfish and lettuce. Yum! Had an order of vegetable fried rice which was not great. Huge chucks of veggies (think stir fry). Not my thing. Overall, solid meal and I will definitely be back soon.
The one constant about my travels in and out of New Orleans is that Mikimotos is the first place I ate when I return and the last place I ate before I leave the city. Jackie and his staff have kept me coming back for over 16 years...even after Hurricane Katrina, he and his wonderful staff are back there preparing the best combinations of sushi rolls I've had - from the Crunchy Rolls to the Chef Special Rolls. You name it, they'll make it! Miki's is the "only" place I've had Noodle Salad in the US and the Box Rolls are awesome. Nice and homely place and I would definately recommend a sit in. I've been trying to get Guy Feirre from the Food Channels "Diner, Dive-ins, and Dives" to visit.....Love the place, it's a staple for me. Jackie - I'll be there this weekend!!!!!
Love it! Sushi is great. My son loves the teriyaki chicken. He also enjoys the "Japanese Sprite" thanks to the waiter who suggested it. It can be loud if it's crowded but when it's slow or half full it's one of my favorite places to go.
I always utilize their drive thru window option but recently dined inside. Not as big as it looks from the outside but definitely has an intimate feel to it. I tried some new rolls for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I usually get the volcano rolls but highly recommend the Metairie and Spicy Shrimp rolls. The eel sauce is what really sets it off!! I love that they start you off with a warm towel for your hands. I think I'm going to start dining in from now on. Sylvia was my waitress and she was awesome!!!!
Amazing to dine-in but be careful when ordering to go. I eat here a lot because the food is generally well prepared and yummy and the service is good. To go orders can be inconsistent though. Sometimes fish in sushi is kind of warm? And last time I ordered a cucumber roll there were pieces of mystery fish and roe squished in with the rice which gave it an awful 'bad fish' flavour.
Love the drive thru!. I'm a big fan of Mikimoto! The food is consistently excellent and the service is superior. The sushi is really good, I have tried several different rolls and have never been disappointed. I love the Spicy Beef with Vegetables and the salads and tempura are always a great choice. You can't go wrong here.
Great food, great price. Excellent choice for dinner.
My boyfriend and I ate here last night. The food was good and our waitress was really nice and attentive. I ordered a large sake and I was surprised at how big it was it was huge. My only issue with the place was there was a group of really loud obnoxious girls that were clearly getting on everyone in the restaurants nerves. One of the girls had a really high pitched voice and kept yelling really loud and it turns out they were friends with the manager. He should have told them to keep it down or something they were causing people to leave. We rushed through our meal so we could get out of there.
An oasis on the "Carrolton Corridor". Better yet, an oasis in the ghetto rather than on the "Carrolton Corridor". Get the spicy tuna salad... the best $7 or so sushi dish in the city. Hands down.
New Fav Sushi Spot!. My best buddy and I went to dinner here last week after a long weekend of parties and parades.. We needed attentive service, good food, and fast Sake. They surpassed my needs or expectations.. very rare these days!
I ordered the Sashimi plate with steamed rice. I was so impressed with their fish! The pieces were massive and SO fresh!! I told the waiter I was gluten free and he was so accommodating.. Brought me GF soy sauce with a huge smile. The salmon was the best I've had in years- it was crazy good. I've been dreaming about my meal ever since. My friend ordered the Wasabi mussels (and a landslide of other food)- they were to die for.
I will be back here for sure!! Nice people and good prices too. I have paid over $20 (only $16 here) for the same thing in other sushi places where the fish was subpar. I was blown away and left feeling nourished and satisfied. A big Kampai to these folks!!!!
Pink sauce!!!!!!!! Don't listen to anyone who says this isn't the best sushi in New Orleans.
This is our favorite sushi place in the city. Great for dine in, take out, or delivery. Fish is very fresh and everything is delicious plus the staff is amazing. We go almost every other week and will continue. So, so good!!
Granted, not my favorite sushi in the city, but still better than a lot of places. The restaurant phone was broken the last time I called for delivery, and the waitress called me back on her personal cell to take my order...going beyond what I expected for service!
Some of the best Sushi in Nola hands down. Come back again and again.
Love this place, and they deliver. But of course most fresh if dining in. Spicy tuna salad, sex in your mouth
They deliver. Pretty good sushi and I like even better that they deliver.
Favorite Sushi. Very friendly staff. Good service and good food.
Great option for sushi delivery
FAVORITE SUSHI!!!. Hands down my favorite sushi place in NOLA!!!!
its not a dinner event (date/dinner out with friends) kinda place like Rock n Sake, or anything like that.... at least i wouldn't recommend it for that... but if you just wanna go somewhere that's not crazy expensive and get some good sushi... its PERFECT!!!
Its small and cozy, I love the drive-thru and 25cent sushi, they always have good specials, the service is great and fast and friendly, its affordable and the sushi is delicious!!! What's not to love?!?!
Excellent value. Fast, friendly service and good food at a good price.
a repeat customer for many years.
Quick and clean!! They have amazing sushi! I love their specialty rolls!
The sushi is just OK but, in their defense, it is cheaper than most other places. On the merits alone, though, I'd def rate Mikimoto behind Sushi Brothers, Shogun, Ninja, Rock-n-Sake, and probably even Sake Cafe.
They get a like from me because they deliver. I have only eaten in the house once. But I've gotten delivery many times.....
Awesome. This is a staple - do NOT miss it!!!!
Steve is the man!. Ask for Steve. He is one of the best sushi guys in town. He can make unique rolls that no one else in NOLA can reproduce.
Like it. Love the sushi there =)
close to school
though parking is a little tight but its ok
food is great
At here when at Tulane. Good price, always have it delivered to campus.
Favorite Little Sushi Place. Sushi is my comfort food. In every city I've lived in, I've always had a favorite little sushi place. It's never the edgy sushi restaurant with juxtaposed oriental paintings and clean modern furniture. Neither is it the most "authentic" place. You know, the restaurant where the staff to wear kimono reproductions. (Not that there's anything wrong with either.
In uptown, Mikimoto is my favorite little sushi place. It's a good mix of everything. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but like so many things, it is what's on the inside that counts. AND… it delivers.
The sushi is always good. I start with miso soup and the complimentary noodle salad. Then, I get my standards (a philly roll and a special crunchy roll) and whichever other two rolls seems to tickle my taste buds. The service is great, even when busy. I can be in and out in about 45 minutes. The dress code is flexible. I can put my hand on the bible as swear I've gone to Mikimoto for dinner dates, and I've headed there directly from the gym. I can usually get a full meal for two for about 35$ to boot!
Try it. No gimmicks. Good prices! Good service! Good sushi!
Best value for the price. Great service. I go every week.
Great service. I'd never really noticed the kind of service I got in a restaurant until eating at Mikimoto. Here, the wait staff is impeccable: attentive, accurate, fast, friendly. The sushi here is pretty standard - it's good, don't get me wrong - but I come here over Sushi Brothers or Kyoto because of the service.
Not the best but it has a drive-thru. The drive through is convenient and the sushi is adequate. Not as good as Wasabi in the Marigny or Little Tokyo, but it's still good.
For a full menu go to mikimotosushi.com. I am used to west coast sushi and this is the closest I've found. I eat here at least every week. I've tried literally EVERY sushi rest in new Orleans. Others are good, yes, but I choose Mikimoto 8 times out of 11.
Passable sushi with the benefit of delivery. Mikimoto's is average at best in regards to sushi, with the South Carrolton roll being one of their bright spots. The quality of the fish varies wildly but never reaches the highs. The are fairly inexpensive (as far as sushi goes), but sometimes you simply get what you pay for. They do deliver and without this option, I probably would rarely, if ever, eat there--if I'm going to have to drive there, there are other better options. From top to bottom, it's okay but not much better than that.
Decent. Takeout window. 7 Days: 11am-11pm. Unimaginative setting. On a 'freeway'-like spot. Large, interesting selection. Solid. Good service. We liked the rock-n-roll and lobster roll.
All in all, Mikimoto is a great sushi restaurant that is relatively cheap and quick. They're focused on customer service, and great for grabbing a quick meal on the go, or sitting down and eating for a few hours. Did I mention it had a drive-through?
I ordered via UberEats and it came very expeditiously. I had 2 “special” requests: low sodium soy sauce and extra wasabi. I received neither. This has happened before and it’s disappointing because the sushi is tasty. It’ll be awhile before I order again since other sushi restaurants don’t get these details wrong. (Noodle salad; crunchy roll/soy paper; rocknroll/soy paper)
It was super tasty and fast. The roles were very filling could have probably asked to be light on the rice. Our client recommended the place and order for us all so not sure what we ordered but I liked the sashimi, and the one with crab ontop. All was great.

Had a post Saints game victory dinner on October 30th, 2022.
We decided to get the:
TITANIC DELUXE DINNER (FOR TWO)
Sushi, sashimi, rolls, tempura, chicken teriyaki and fresh fruit.
Was so so delicious and perfect for a Saints victory dinner!!
Thanks Mikimoto!!

With a friendly staff and great food you can't go wrong! Absolutely the freshest fish available! The place is second to none. Top of the line sushi rolls and fresh sashimi. Weather eating out alone or on a date this place is great! You got to try it! You won't be disappointed with dozens and dozens of items to choose from!
The sushi is really good, I loved everything there. The staff are also really nice, I’d recommend calling before going to see of its busy. Might have to wait inside to find seats cause the place has around 10-11 tables (varying number of seats)
We are staying at a hotel and all of the restaurants in the hotel were closed so we ordered from here and it was AMAZING!! This restaurant might be a staple every time I come to New Orleans! The food was hot when it got here, it tasted delicious, and was exactly what we ordered.
What's not to love about this place? Service was prompt and friendly. The only complaint I would have is the parking. Because the lot is small, there is limited parking around the building. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded, but there was nearly no parking available. The only sushi restaurant I know that has a drive thru to pick up to go order.
Didn’t eat much on time at work. Orders and it arrived pretty quickly. Fresh and simple ingredients and not to heavy for me so late in the day! This works. And it takes great.
I love this food 🍱 so much , everything it’s great to me… it’s small place but that’s a plus you feel like in a private place lol less noise, less everything, i can tell they keep consistent… love it

Atmosphere isn't all that. The place is clean and tidy. The service feels home town and small even though its in the big city. Waitress, like a classic southern woman, called everyone baby 😇. Waitress was attentive and kind. Food quality is EXCELLENT.
The Sashimi Roll wrapped in cucumber is outstanding! I don't live in NOLA, but I'll be back as I travel through.
I love Mikimoto! Affordable and good. Some rolls are better than others but, once you find what you like, you’ll be set!
