Excellent food and great staff, owners always on sight but have a feeling if they weren't things would still be the same. You can't go wrong ordering off the regular menu or the great daily specials, portions are big and price is very reasonable and always good

This is the real deal lunch spot downtown. Great food in general, but the fiesta salad (served only on Wednesdays) is my favorite. The Welty's have a gem here!

Visiting a friend and he took us here for lunch. My fiesta salad was amazing and I couldn't resist the German chocolate brownie that melted in my mouth. I highly recommend getting lunch here, but come early as it gets busy during lunch time.

My first indication of what I was about to get into came with the first thing that was said to me. I asked if they had a roast beef poboy. The cashier knew what I wanted, and knew she didn't have it. I was told that she did have a French dip, but that if I was looking for a big messy poboy with gravy (exactly what I was looking for) that I should check out Commerce. This to me was great service. I ended up staying for lunch and had a muffuletta. It was excellent with a large side salad. Of course I had the strawberry lemonade, which was very good. And, unfortunately, I was tempted by all the good things in the dessert case. Great spot for a killer lunch.

Great experience and outstanding service for a sandwich shop. One of the best French Dip's I've ever had. Very crowded around lunchtime on weekdays.

Great lunch place! Service was incredible for us as we're tourists and needed a little help figuring out what was good and local. The pulled pork po' boy was excellent and the strawberry lemonade (homemade) was also very very good. Highly recommend.

Buzzing lunch spot - Claustrophobics beware!. I work in the Warehouse District, and Welty's is in a great walking distance for the CBD, Warehouse, and French Quarter.

Lots of buzz during lunch...and honestly I was a little overwhelmed my first time in for lunch. But the ladies behind the counter can handle it, and despit being super busy, they're on top of things in a timely manner.

I usually get 1/2 of the chicken salad sandwich, a delicious serving with curry included, and add lettuce and tomato. I also get a cup of soup...last time being Corn & Crab Bisque. Both were very good.

The sandwiches are great as they have all the fixin's across the room including veggies and sauces including Ancho Mayonaisse!!!

Definitely try it out.

Like back in NY. Founded in 2005, near Poydras, downtown.

This is a New York style deli, with very high marks for portion and quality, and lower marks for originality or variety.

My sandwich is billed as 1.5 pounds of meat on muffeletta bread and I believe it. I am a big eater and only ate half. Well worth the $10 --- it is two meals. Three kinds of cheese, choice of 4 out of 5 meats, and VERY good. The condiments bar is massive -- 10-15 kinds of dressing and sauces, fresh red onion, tomato, etc.

The curry chicken salad sandwich (beware of nuts) is also excellent. On an unsized coissant and beefy.

Cafe au Lait was very good.

Decor was pleasant enough -- 19th century building with original, worn bricks, evidencing several renovations over the years. Decent NOLA-themed art and wall hanging for sale. Lots fo seating, which it needs -- very popular spot.

Service was fairly quick.

I guess the only thing it lacks if a larger, more creative menu. But if you want a solid, large, fresh sandwich or salad, this is the place. visit 1/10.

We did an overnight in New Orleans before returning home to Illinois, specifically for the food. NOLA never disappoints on dining experiences ❤️ I had promised my husband (a chef) that I would return with the best muffaletta New Orleans had to offer. Welty's did not disappoint. After making a very disappointing stop at another deli, I knew I had to find something impressive for the hubby. So I went to Welty's. Google maps confused me a bit on the location as it is on the second story of a shopping center, not a street facing storefront. It was totally worth the ride up the escalator to get there, though, as the sandwich was killer! I explained that I would be traveling on I55 for a 12 hr trek, and they packaged me up for the road without missing a beat. The staff was phenomenal and super friendly. We will definitely be stopping in again next time we find ourselves in The Big Easy. I would have shared a better picture, but the hubby got right into it before I could take one🤣

Incredible. 10/10 portions, price, TASTE, good golly this place literally has EVERYTHING. The patio also looks amazing But it’s too hot for that today. If you are a sauce queen, love a salty bite, and enjoy some hospitality, you have to go. You just have to. I got the French dip with sweet tea and slaw. My baby got a the smoked salmon on an everything bagel.

Stayed at a nearby hotel off Canal and wanted to pick up some sandwiches. Found in an office building, second floor, so not visible, and atmosphere more like a food court, BUT WOW! The service was great the sandwiches were huge and delicious! Stacked high corned beef, tuna salad, mufalatta, fresh cut fruit and salads! They do a lot of catering too! Would go back next time in NOLA!

This deli was recommended by a coworker and it is everything he said. The chicken salad is as good as he said it would be! It’s not overly mayo’d and the multigrain bread stands up and makes this a great sandwich. This is a fantastic lunch spot. The lady’s at the counter are everything you want to experience while visiting New Orleans. All the southern hospitality you can want! Enjoy, honey!

We had the French Dip the best I've ever had. Wish I'd taken a picture. Portions are very generous, my husband and I split it. We're from Maine or we would be there often. The owner was so nice and so very pleasant. Can't wait to go back to NOLA⚜️👍👍

This place is great. It’s on the second floor of a plaza up the escalators. All sorts of sandwiches and salads. Chicken salad sandwich was amazing. Get a sandwich and hang out on the balcony. Don’t miss the pickle bar. Friendly and funny family run spot!

We both lapped up this southwest chicken tortilla soup. 😋 This has been our best Muffalette on this trip. The Roasted hardwood smoked salmon Ruben marble rye bread with Apple and cabinets sauerkraut, spicy thousand Island dressing, and baby Swiss cheese was a little too fishy for us so not to our taste, but salmon lovers would enjoy. Everyone was so friendly and took great care of us, especially Tina. Thanks

Awesome spot, call in your order ahead of time to save 20+ min. Muffuletta was spectacular as well as the pastrami. Loved all the sauces and condiments you can add. Salads nothing special stick to sandwiches. Great service.
