Wow! Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, not one single complaint from any of my group ( even my 8year old tore the fried catfish up). It's quite fancy and a little pricey but so worth it. There was barely anyone in there on Sunday night, but that place should have been packed. And our waiter was amazing! He gave real recommendations and guided us all to the perfect meal. Will definitely be back whenever I'm in New Orleans.
This place was top notch. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable about menu and offered selections based off our preferences. Tried several different selections from the menu. They all were amazing. Sat next to the kitchen window and could see our food being prepared, which was great. Went for early dinner, which meant it was quiet and not crowded.
Oh, Briquette. From our enthusiastic waiter Darryl, to the delectable courses, to the owner, AJ “Papi”, treating us to complimentary dessert wine to close out our meal, it was such a wonderful experience.
I can’t speak highly enough of the food. I’ve gotten the snapper pontchartrain twice and it seems to get better each time. As I write this a week later, I still crave the fresh fried fish, lump crab, and hollandaise all in one bite. It’s savory and perfectly complimentary.
The seared scallops nestled atop a lightly fried goat cheese grit cake are even better. Few bites of food have made me close my eyes to thoroughly cherish every note and flavor. This is one of those dishes. I felt like Remy the rat from Ratatouille when he tried cheese for the first time.
Briquette is certainly worthy of dinner plans next time you’re in New Orleans. We hope to be back soon. Until then, we dream of the buttery bites of goodness.

Overall great experience. I visited here for my birthday. I'm from Massachusetts and this was one of the few spots that sells scallops. I really wanted scallops. Highly recommend going here if you like seafood and want to try a higher quality side of New Orleans. Typically you'll pay around $60-$90 which isn't bad for a more eloquent experience.
The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the lack of butter on the steak. The steak was well seasoned however, it needed butter on top to keep it juicy and flavorful. I paired my meal with a nice light mas la chevalière chardonnay. I hope this review helps. Let me know what you think!
The service and food was impeccable. I wanted something light and the Seafood Salad was perfect. A bed of greens with Fried Green Tomatoes, shrimp and fresh crab. Heavenly! My server was attentive and answered any questions that I had about the menu. Would highly recommend.
Up there as of the best meals we've had here which is saying a lot. Casual. We shared the luscious crawfish crepe and ordered the Visiting whole fish - Snapper, Redfish Ponchartrain, and Blackened Redfish. We made room for dessert with their homemade King cake with Creole cream cheese ice cream which was heavenly. Great selection of wines and cocktails. Even reading their drinks menu was fun. Overall, great dinner!
First I walked in and thought I might’ve been underdressed. Beautiful place. The lady seating us later found out was the owner. She was polite and smiled when we walked in. Assured me we were welcomed. Rishnell our server made our whole experience. Smiled the whole time, was very sweet even offered us a to take a picture to document our moment here, served the food fast with exact requests, we even talked a little about our last names. He made this place home. He even separated our gumbo between two people. Just the extra mile!! Such a a sweet server. I’d like to talk all about the food but I’d be returning for the service more so!!
Food is good! Im from Lafayette though so I really would like a little more seasoning in the crusts of the fried foods (but I’m Cajun) lol.. gumbo was 10/10 and I recommend!!
The last time a moment brought tears to my eyes, I was looking at my first born....then I ate at Briquette and it happened again... no the food didn't make me pregnant, but almost. The seared sea scallop with goat cheese grit cake was one of the most amazing dishes I've had in my business travels. Staff was perfection. Wine selection, amazing. Do try for yourself!
The food was fresh and delicious. Ordered the redfish and it was prepared very well. The scallops were also great. For dessert, we had the bread pudding beignets and this is a must have because they were scrumptious.
The atmosphere here is really welcoming. The decor is Upscale, but in a very relaxed way. The service and employees were all excellent. The food was good. The steak was undersalted, the potatoes and Brussel sprouts were okay. The crispy skinned salmon was...well, it wasn't crispy. The salad on top of the salmon had really great and had a unique flavor that was really refreshing. The creme brulee was also good. The scallop appetizer was amazing though!
Briquette is a nice restaurant for sure. The server we had, Patrick, was amazing and was very polite while dealing with my parents and myself while we were slightly intoxicated.
The food was AMAZING.
For apps we got the-
Scallops
Oyster Bienville
Crayfish and goat cheese crepes
All of which were absolutely delicious and very decadent.
For entrees
My parents got the catfish and fries
And I got the pork porterhouse.
The catfish was absolutely to die for...
the pork porterhouse...was a pork porterhouse lol.
The decor in this place was very nice and I loved the artwork all around.

I have only two things to critique...
When arriving 25mins after our 7pm reservation on a wednesday the short manager guy that had a puffy pompador hair style said to me, "we have a 15min grace period on reservations..."
I looked at him...smiled...took a nice long pause and very obviously scanned the entire restaurant and replied back to him..."oh I'm so sorry about that, I guess it's a good thing you guys aren't too busy being at roughly 1/4th capacity".
And the 2nd thing that I just find to be kind of funny since I'm from the north...
The soup of the evening is..."market price"...and it's just chicken and sausage...that was a head scratcher for me haha.(it was only $13).
I can understand maybe king crab legs being market price...but when a "visiting whole fish" was the only other market priced item on the menu with SOUP....that's just kind of odd...it's soup for crying out loud hahahah. Come on....
I was very impressed with the food here. I regret not tasting the jumbo, the Rockefeller oysters were def a must. It was rather hard to get a beer there though. Lots of wines and cocktails. Waiter was very kind and worked very hard. Only thing is they can’t itemize a bill and a huge party will have to put in on 2-3 card max
Had a 7 PM reservation on the Thursday night. We showed up at 6:30 and they were able to seat us right away. Patrick was an excellent server! The food was very butter heavy but tasted delicious. We couldn’t quite figure out how to casual of a vibe they were going for as there were people in jeans and a T-shirt sitting near other patrons in evening gowns. Overall I would say it was good but nothingI’d be jumping at the gun to come back to
Most amazing meal we had in New Orleans, this trip. Local red snapper beat all expectations. We only wished we had more room for desserts.
This place was a total treat! The server was so kind, friendly, and on top of everything! The meal itself was delightful and I was very impressed with the amount of flavor they packed in! The crispy skin salmon? To die for! I also was gifted a little chocolate cake slice for my birthday and it was so rich and decadent! I 100% recommend stopping in here!
Everything about this place was great…the ambiance, the service, the food A+
Will definitely return whenever I get back
Coming from a Miami foodie and guru of fine dining, this place is a 10 out if 10 !!
The staff was VERY friendly and helpful.. the owners there and visited our table to assure their service and food was to perfection and it was... I highly recommend eating here!!! Thank you..
