Outstanding! Perfect French onion soup...no really! A lovely french Chardonnay, crawfish crepes, the most tender escargot ever! all of the wonderful French bistro style food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The place has been around for almost 35 years our waiter had been there for 25 years. So charming inside and service works like a well oiled machine. Quite a gem

New Orleans has some of the best food in the world, but I always have to visit La Crepe Nanou! I have been eating and celebrating here for 30+ years, and I have never been disappointed. Crepe Marrons with chestnut cream is a must! Love a dessert on fire! The mussels, lamb, au gratin seafood, and so many more options are fab. And all house wines are amazing, especially the champagne. What a lovely, little spot!

I’ve loved Crepe Nanou since forever. It’s always been one our favorite uptown neighborhood restaurants. Along with the atmosphere, the food is always consistent and always delicious. Our favorites are salad tropical, escargot, and muscles and frites along with our choice of crepe desserts. I always look forward to our next visit.

Crepe Lorraine (emmenthal cheese, ham and a fried egg with mushrooms and roasted potato) is simply divine and the restaurant is charming. It's two blocks from the street car, so it's easy to get to even if you stay in the French Quarter.

My favorite restaurant for mussels, frites, French bread and of course a bottle of Muscadet. Love the ambiance as well. Usually, too full for dessert. My husband and I try to go often when mussels are in season as you can see in my post picture.

La Crepe Nanou is definitely a go to spot for me and my besties! Absolutely love the cuteness of the restaurant from the little white lights, colorful decor, and casual vibes it gives off as soon as you walk in.  The cocktails are something I look forward to as well as the food.  I cant pass up the French 75 and Muscles and pomme frites!  The food is consistently good!

Great. One of the best places in Nola to wine and dine. We started with the mussels and the broth was delicious. For the Entree, I had the lamb chops which were perfectly cooked and seasoned (definitely the highlight of the night). The service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Great food & atmosphere. I love this place. its really cute...but not in overly annoying way, but a nice atmosphere way. its not super loud or super quiet. but no matter how a place looks, the way the food tastes is more important to me. i love the savory crepes they have for dinner... my favorite is the crepe onion & fromage.. its basically a crepe filled with sweet red onions and cheese. and it is very, very good. its not a place to have a huge group go eat, its more of a date place or small inimate dinner place. the servers were really helpful and nice.

Love the atmosphere. This is the perfect restaurant for a date night, very romantic. The waits can be pretty long, but the food is consistently good. I usually order the Crêpe aux Ecrevisse (crawfish in lobster sauce). Pretty tasty! Also, the french onion soup is good. The Moules Marinières are delicious and there are bread and fries for dipping in the buttery goodness. To sum it up, you will enjoy your meal, but the menu items don't stray much from French standards.

Taste of France. Uptown neighborhood cafe. I'd describe it as sort of a "feminine" atmosphere. Very French feel to it. Nice place with a bit of a casual feel. The whole grilled redfish that I had was fantastic. Presentation was really cool. And taste was great. Crepes of all kinds, both as entrees and as desserts. Great restaurant for a date, with prices that are a little more on the reasonable side as compared to other restaurants in this class.

La Crepe Nanou is one of my favorite places to go when I'm craving a super cute atmosphere. Last time I was here, I had the mussels and was a bit disappointed but it could be simply because my friend's plate of cheesy crepe would instill jealously and food-envy in anyone. Our waitress was adorable and actually recommended a great, inexpensive wine. Always save room for dessert here! Their dessert crepes are unbelievably decadent!

Tuesday at 8:30p is the time to go the Nanou...no wait. My group of 3 had a wonderful dinner. We shared 4 items: mussels, lobster and crawfish crepe, steak au poivre and and crepe morran. The mussels were in a shallot, white wine and cream sauce. They were good but could use a little punch of fresh herbs or andouille. The lobster crepe was rich an delicious...I would definitely order again. My companions enjoyed the steak . The real show stopper was the dessert crepe. The Morran is a crepe filled with chestnut paste, with a scoop of coffee ice cream on top and a flambé of rum. Fabulous ending to the meal along with a very good pull of espresso. I would definitely return.

Je ne sais quoi. My family's regular request, and a personal favorite.

I'm always torn about what to eat here. Whatever I decide I walk away full and content and planning my next visit.
Wonderful seafood, lamb, steak, savory creeps and more; simple, well done sides; delightful deserts...Service has always been on point (having been a server for 5 years, I notice a lot).

In the right weather, sitting on the sidewalk near the tall heaters is a treat. Inside is charming, if a bit crowded.

Great neighborhood to take a stroll in if you're waiting for a table or need to let your stomach settel.

Something Different. If you get tired of the same old menu options at some of Nola's restaurants, La Crepe Nanou provides a nice alternative. Not only do they have both savory and sweet crepes, but they have the best lamb chops I've ever had. I know if you go here you probably expect to order crepes, but I followed the advice of a friend and tried the lamb one night. I can't wait to go back and experience it again. It was that good. There are plenty of options to please any palate. It has a lively atmosphere and good wine selection, too.

French Bistro in Nola. La Crepe Nanou is a small casual french bistro right off of St. Charles Street in New Orleans. From the outside it's quaint, small and very welcoming. The wait is about an hour long and worst part about it, they do not take reservations!

When I open La Crepe's menu and the first thing that caught my eye? Mussels in White Wine & Butter.. What a coincidence! Of course I ordered it and I'll tell you it was quite pleasing. The mussels were cooked perfectly in the white wine, butter, garlic, & onions. Crusty french baguettes were readily available for dipping with the sauce. mMm.. If you go, this is an appetizer you must order.

For the entree I ordered the Sweetbreads and my date had the Quail. I was disappointed with my dish. The Sweetbreads (veal thymus glands) were a bit overcooked. When you order sweetbreads you're aiming for a tender, moist piece of meat.. mine was rather dry, but the seasoning was good. The roasted potatoes were bland and the Vegetables weren't much better.

As for the Quail dish, it was cooked perfectly.. moist and flavorful! But the pasta wasn't really seasoned or tossed in any butter/oil and you already know about the Veg. The service was good, the waitress was friendly and efficient.. I liked the overall ambiance of the place. It kinda gives you that "I'm in a Paris bistro" feel. Wasn't the best but it was pretty solid overall..

Delicious and fairly romantic. Last night I went to dinner at La Crepe Nanou. It was a last minute decision, we were actually planning to go to La Thai for dinner, but it was closed. Actually every Thai restaurant we tried to stop at uptown was closed on Mondays. I have heard good things about La Crepe Nanou and its right next to La Thai so we went there. It's cute and quaint in a bohemian/Parisian sort of way. I imagine I would have been very happy sitting in the front room (where the bar is located) the seating seemed much more comfortable. The other two rooms were pleasant and still romantic seeming, but had metal cafe chairs that I would have expected out-of-doors.

We started with Les Moules Marinières the mussels steamed in garlic, cream and white wine. They were quite delicious. My date soaked almost all of the loaf of bread we got in the cream sauce (as you can see below). I am; however, still a favorite to the Mussels Josephine at Bonefish grill.

I had a champagne cocktail which was quite bitter, but I enjoyed it. I had the Crêpe Provençale (without Mushrooms) it was a ratatouille filled crepe and it was… perfection. I'm typically a carnivore but I was completely satisfied with this vegetarian dish. It came with a side of potatoes and french green beans. Everything was delicious, my date was even a little jealous.

My date had the smoke salmon crepe which was filled with capers and cream cheese and topped with asparagus. We stared off saying it was okay, but finished his whole plate! I'm not very partial to salmon OR capers and I found it pleasant, rich and creamy. Unfortunately there was no room for dessert.

Authentic. If you have eaten French food in France, you will appreciate La Crêpe Nanou for being truly à la Française. I find the atmosphere to be a little cramped (as brasseries in France often are) but charming. I like Café Degas, too, but I find Nanou to be more authentic. Bon appétit!

Delicious sweet crepes AND savory crepes. The crepes, or any food for that matter, are always delicious. The hot seafood appetizer is particularly tasty, and there is no better way to end a meal than with the crepe lucie. The service, however, leaves something to be desired. They can be slow to tend to you, and the waitresses can be a bit pretentious - correcting your pronunciations of the dishes, even though she knows perfectly well that 1) we are not actually in France, and 2) exactly what you are trying to order. For the occasional snootiness, though, it's totally worth it, especially when accompanied by good food, people, and a glass of wine.

Wish this was in my neighborhood. Great neighborhood bistro. Ironically, while we've eaten there at least a dozen times, I've never ordered crepes. I'm sure they're wonderful, but I can't seem to get past the mussels (best in the city), fondue (ditto), roast chicken options, or the salads. Great cheap wine list, fun atmosphere, and extremely reasonably priced.

Get the mussels!! And the cheese!. La Crepe Nanou is great and exactly what I'd like to imagine all french bistros are like. Be prepared, it is popular and pretty small inside, so there will probably be a wait and your seat may be crowded. The service is always pretty good, though not overly attentive, but the food is the star here. The mussels are so good! Plump and juicy, cooked in a wine broth with chopped parsley and shallots--even the appetizer size is a nice portion. The steaks are usually quite tasty, as is the drum fish. The cheese plate is another great choice. I'm not a huge fan of the savory crepes on the menu, though they occasionally have a special crepe filled with cheese and smoked salmon and capers that is great. As a side benefit, you can meet the adorable orange cat that hangs outside the entrance (just don't feed him scraps, I've heard he's on a diet and has to avoid fatty foods).

Been here around 5 or 6 times and.... Amazing. I'm not the greatest connoisseur of French food, but I just love this place. It's romantic, and it has not failed to impress every single time I've gone. I've tried their Escargots, Pate, Fondue, Sweetbread, Veal, 2 or 3 different crepes, Fillet, a few desserts that I can't recall, but everything tastes great, everything arrives hot, and even though it might take a while (since it's always full), the busy atmosphere makes you forget about time and lets you enjoy. One of my favorite places to go out here in New Orleans, and if i was forced to make a complain it'd be about having to wait just to get in (usually worth it).

I've always loved this restaurant... I just forget HOW MUCH until I dine there. Ok, you will probably have to wait, but just grab a delicious French 75 or a glass of wine & chill out. I love the atmosphere... Fun art on all of the walks, pretty glass, great (old?) building filled with charm & romance. The wine list is good (especially if you like French wine) & my waiter seemed knowledgable about the wines. I can't stay away from the muscles! I think it would be rude to drink the broth from the bowl, but I was really tempted. Entree was crabmeat & spinach crepe... Totally creamy & yummy! I actually order this every time that I dine there. If you aren't trying to set the land speed record for being seated, then please try this place! Parking can be difficult, so I think my next visit will involve a cab.

Delicious and adorable!! 5 Stars!. La Crepe Nanou is one of the best treasures I have found in New Orleans. The atmosphere is so cool and romantic -- enjoyable for all. I went with my best friend and we ordered the cheese fondue which surpassed all expectations. Large portion of cheese, bread and fruit, which were all delicious and could easily be an appetizer for 4. The bread and fruit was fresh -- bananas, kiwis, apples, strawberries, oranges. The wine selection was well chosen, especially the bordeaux. For dessert we ordered two delicious crepes. We got the crepe Lucie and crepe Marron. The service was good and our experience was worth every penny. I would recommend this to everyone and can't wait to go again.

Worth trying out. Overall, I like La Crepe Nanou. First of all, the problems.

- Some items aren't fully disclosed on the menu. For example, if you order the french onion crepe, be prepared for it to be stuffed with sour cream (surprise!)
- Some of the seating is cramped

Now for the good!

- The desert crepes are the best in town and possibly the best I've had. However, they aren't extremely crepe-esque. They are more like big banana splits or sundaes that happen to have a crepe wrapped around them. The crepe is very thin and hard to taste through the chocolate sauce all over them... but who am I to complain about an abundance of chocolate sauce?
- The crepe with ratatouille in it is perfect. The potatoes on the side are a nice touch, and their sauteed mushrooms are delicious... and I'm a 'shroom hater.
- The filet here is the least expensive in town. It's not the best in town but it sure isn't the worst either. It's a great value overall.
- If you like avocados, get the avocado salad. You'll be surprised and you'll get to load up on monounsaturated fats (the good fats) simultaneously
- They always have some good bougoulais, chianti, or sangiovese - perfect to go with crepes
- Good french baguette accompanies the meal (now if they only had room temperature butter...)

Overall summary - it's worth trying, especially if you're new to crepes! The beef tips crepe is great, as well as the ratatouille crepe and the filet.

Great romantic spot.. Minus the fact that it is extremely popular (rightly so) and there is inevitably a wait for a table, this place is possibly one of the best spots in uptown for outstanding food that's kind to your wallet. Long pours of good wines and Goslings dark rum will keep you company as you wait for a bistro table to feast. The mussels are supposedly to die for, although I'm going to have to wait until the next time I'm there, as I couldn't say no to the savory onion soup. Thick cut onions make this more onion than cheese. Followed by breaded veal with a sweet and tempting cream sauce that was never overpowering. Finished off by Crepe Marron for desert.. anything that comes flaming to the table is bound to be good. The rum was intense, yet was settled as the coffee ice cream melted into it. Im headed back again (and again) for the mussels, the ambiance, the decor, and to try everything else on the menu. 01/2010

Yeah.... confirmed. The mussels are great. Be sure to keep enough bread around to use as a tasty sponge in the mussel, cream, and butter sauce. 10/2010.

Good Things.... This is an old standby for my wife and I...
Whenever we want to go out to a romantic meal with an intimate setting, we usually default to here. Rather than attempt other fine dining restaurants that charge extreme amounts, the food here is of the highest quality at a very reasonable rate. We love the mussels, of course, but the filet mignon here is greatly overlooked. It's one of my favorite steaks in the city for the price....$18 for an 8 oz...
The crepes are fabulous as well...

Wow. What a pleasant surprise. The restaurant looks small from the outside but can sit quite a lot. Reservations are needed. Casual dress. Got there at 5:15pm and by 6p it was packed Adequate parking at businesses across the street that are close in evening. Entrance is on corner of building and not the 2 large doors that I tried to use. We had the salmon and shrimp dishes and saved the crepes for dessert. Food was excellent. Server was pleasant and seemed to enjoy her job…very attentive. Loved the colors and different decor areas you could sit. Definitely recommend. Also had French onion soup, escargots, salad and a few drinks…around $70 per person.

Always a go-to whenever I’m in town. Our server was a sweetie, our food was delish, and I wanted my dessert so badly I forgot to take a photo! We had the crawfish crepe and the lamb chops. Both were perfect. (Sad they no longer have the aioli sauce though!), followed by the chocolate mousse. Note: The fondue IS yummy but we had that last year and ended up having no room for dessert!

I’ve probably eaten here 50 times in the 20+ years I’ve lived in the area. It’s one of my favorite French restaurants not just in New Orleans but the world—including France. The Art Nouveau style fused with local art makes the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner. Service is always impeccable and the food is top notch—I’ve tried most of the menu items. All are good but the escargot and bread are especially *chef’s kiss*. Oh and the steak and the seafood and the soups and the drinks and the crêpes. Seriously, you can’t go wrong—they have everything from light to heavier fare and I’ve always gone away happy.

Usually a go to for a nice dinner but our last time I went was ok at best. Usually, it would be all 5 stars but that one time really stuck with me because the mussels were good but my entree, fish, was bad. Our salad was not brought out to us and was charged for it. But hopefully the next time I go it is amazing like most times.

I have been dining at La Crepe Nanou for over 30 years. One of my menu go to items read always the mussels, some of the best ever. However, this visit's mussels were quite lackluster. They packed the flavor and depth that I am used to. They were good but not great or even exceptional, in fact they were disappointing. However, everything else was great to fantastic. Please fix the mussels or I will have to go to Cafe Degas.

Crepe perfection. We popped by for apps and desert, specifically. I haven't had fondue in a while... this one was pretty good. The fondue was tasty enough although I feel like it could've been creamier. We decided to try one of each crepe. The chocolate was definitely the best. Paired it all with a lovely French Chardonnay. Our server was really awesome. We enjoyed everything on the patio - it made for a great Sunday afternoon stop. **Get the Escargot, they were fantastic.

We had a great experience at dinner here on a Saturday night. We had the mussels, escargot, cheese board, and crab and avocado salad. I’m looking forward to our next trip and trying more from the menu!

Phenomenal restaurant. Would give it more stars if I could. Pate is the best in NOLA. Mussels are sublime. Order extra bread or fries to soak up the goodness at the bottom of the bowl. Crepe Bourguignon is the best I've tasted in the states. Outstanding service. Just a fantastic dining experience.

Just marvelous. Intimate, authentic, magnifique! From apritifs, each course, to dessert crepes. A perfect slow & quiet romantic escape for us, during a long week-end on loud & boisterous Bourbon Street

Small place, but we had a great table. The food wad 5/5. The escargot was excellent, the crepes were good and the french bread was very nice. The mussels were good, but could have been more flavorful. Our waitress was not the friendliest.
