Review Bourbon House - New Orleans

The Frozen Bourbon Milk Punch is too good and meal itself. I could stop in just for that. Great vibe here and decor. This is superb dining for seated dining area and solo bar stool eats. Excellent servers and prompt service. I would like to see upstairs on next visit. The crab claws over garlic bread was heaven. I usually avoid bread at restaurants but the union of garlic, soft and crispy ratio with the sauce made it impossible to dismiss. This was divine.

Great service, beautiful venue, very big drink selection and highly recommend you go with the raw and charbroiled oysters and add crab meat to them. The shrimp and squash meal was a hit at our table. They squash was perfectly cooked, and the shrimp stuffing perfect. The fish was great on the half shelf but I recommend a choice to scale the skin for those that love it, because that skin was so crispy and had potential to be yummy but not scaled for consumption. Everyone raved about the Brussel sprouts. Add that to your order;) We had the bread pudding and Vanilla ice cream and I give it a 5/5. No improvements needed. Thanks for a nice experience.

This was my first visit to the Bourbon House Restaurant in several years. I was very impressed with my visit. The decor was very nice on the cafe and the restaurant sides. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was also good, with a nice variety. The chargrilled oysters were especially tasty and my shrimp Poboy was very good.

We had the Redfish - see picture. It came with a lemon sauce but I asked for an alternative and they accommodated me. The fish was so flavorful and cooked to perfection, the salad and the potatoes were excellent. The waiter Andrew was amazing and attentive. We were on vacation so we discovered NOLA a little each day. So lucky that we decided to have dinner at the Bourbon House. Glad to give them five stars - they deserved them.

Ate dinner here on a weekday night. Very attentive and helpful wait staff. Limited but great seafood menu. Ridiculous amount of bourbon to choose from. Only detraction was lack of hand towels in the restroom which was brought to door staffs attention not once but three times. We all ended up wiping our hands on our pants all night.

Enjoyed an evening at a private event and the staff was amazing. The food was perfect and the atmosphere was exquisite! I enjoyed a perfectly prepared redfish with boiled red potatoes that were amazingly seasoned. The evening was superb from the salad to the bread pudding. I was entranced by the decor and impressed by our single server that managed a room of at least 20 guests. I will say one thing - the air-conditioning works well!

The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Our wait staff, especially Renee was amazing she interacted with her granddaughter and made sure we were happy and everything was to our satisfaction. The food was great but Renee was amazing. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town.

Great service and food. We were trying to get into acme oyster bar next door and line was super long. Got right in here. Best oyster my boyfriend had. My ratatouille flat bread was good. Glad we did the switch up as we were on a time schedule.

We ate at the Bourbon House last night and the overall experience was outstanding! We had the clam and corn soup, and barbecue shrimp for starters and they were both delicious ! And then fried seafood platter, and the red fish with crab, and shrimp added" Oh my goodness it was amazing!!!" In addition, the service was excellent and quick , the food is plentifuI, and reasonablely priced for Nola. I highly recommend that you stop in and get a bite at this restaurant while in New Orleans. You will not be disappointed.

Waitress was very kind, food was great. We tried the fried oysters and the shrimp and gritt. The Red Californian Cabernet was delicious. Definitely too cold inside, for me was unacceptable.

Delicious food. Ordered the lobster claw appetizer, fried seafood sampler. So yummy. Best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable. The drinks were good, and strong. I highly recommend.

Everything was excellent. Patty was an awesome server, and the food was terrific. Hubby had pastalaya with pork chop rib eye and I had shrimp stuffed mirliton. We shared a cup og gumbo to start and ended with chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and creme brule. Everything was wonderful!

I never stayed at this hotel, however I did visit the hotel to experience a ghostly adventure. This is one of the most haunted hotels in New Orleons with several different ghostly characters including a wounded soldier who has been known to be appear in the ballroom. So I asked hotel staff if I could go in there for a minute. Luckily the middle door was open ever so slightly so I entered. I can report in my short time in the ballroom I never seen anything ghostly. It was a fun little adventure I highly recommend it.

Great place. Good food. Good service. Right in the heart of bourbon street. Experience class and fine dining. Serving Creole and seafood. Bourbon menu is massive!

Okay so I am big on a few things! Especially customer service! The customer service was everything, the individual that clears the table was very hospitable and could hold a conversation! We came here a few years ago and was destine to go back to get the Bourbon Milk Punch and the Brussel Sprouts! 5 years later and there was no disappointment!! I suggest the Bourbon Milk Punch, Brussel Sprouts and it was another appetizer that was filled with rice and seafood!

I always love Bourbon House! The food is so fantastic and the vibe is great. Unfortunately this time it took almost 45 minutes to get our drinks. Something was definitely wrong because this has never been my experience here before. But the staff apologized and was very nice. The flatbread is always a good choice here and the cocktails are great.

Generally, I like to write only reviews that are 4 or 5 stars because I do not like saying negative comments but there was something not quite correct about this place. Perhaps there is an undeserving sense of greatness that has led to arrogance—don’t know and cannot put my finger on it. However, after my experience at this French Quarter restaurant I decided to go eat in the business district the next night and had not only better food but a level of service that was a quantum leap better. Let’s start with the restaurant’s idea of service that involves a hostess who seats you, a dedicated beverage person, and the food person. This is a great idea if executed effectively, but there was no chemistry between the folks. They knew each other’s name, but they did not “dance” so good together. My bad vibes started almost immediately. The lack of eye contact and banter between the staff and customer borders on offensive and nearly robot like. Maybe I should say artificial or soulless instead. I never saw so many folks with unapproachable faces and poor demeanors. Of the 7 different folks who floated to our table, only one person was a delight to interact with. Though the food was decent, we as customers go out and sit in restaurants at this price point for both the food and the experience. The GM has a lot more work on his hands to get consistency in this staff. When our food came out, the folks just put burning hot plates on the table without alerting us that the plates where really hot. Should we automatically know that fact? No, because generally food should be hot not the entire plate. We did not order sizzling hot fajitas, or did we? In my experience, this restaurant does not live by the mantra that the customer is always right and should be accommodated. For example, I attempted to order a $138 bottle of champagne and they were unable to find it for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we are halfway finished with the appetizer. The GM final located the bottle and I was informed that the bottle was in a box and not in the refrigerator so it will be chilled and ready in an additional 15-20 mins. By this time, our entrees are arriving. I inform our beverage person that is too long I need to make another choice. I pick a bottle that listed for $150 and ask if I can get the bottle for $138. The same price as the bottle they can’t get me in a reasonable timeframe. I get a NO response. I ask to speak with the GM and he goes on to tell me NO and I will have wait or pick a less expensive champagne if I don’t want to pay $150 because “IT” is actually a $200 bottle that they marked down because it’s the last bottle and they want to sale it. I just looked at him like he was crazy, because all these restaurant wines are marked up 2.5 to 3 times the store retail. And store retail is marked up from wholesale. As a matter of fact, the retail price of the “$150” champagne is approximately $55. This was never a $200 wine on the restaurant list—so the GM lied to me. I basically said forget the beverages all together and just drank my tap water and at that point I just wanted out of that place. The waitress tried to make it up to us at the end of the meal by giving us a free desert drink—I was neither game for that nor amused. I will never go back. This was my first and last time in this place.

Great, professional service! Food was certainly five star. Waitresses and managers were also five star! Every dish we had was five star... Manager on duty was the very best as well as the staff, especially Tiffany and Semaya (my sincerest apologies if I misspelled)! Go there... It was hands-down one of the best birthday dinners I've had in 36 years! You can NOT and will NOT be disappointed!!! Just go there and enjoy... You're welcome. : ) AAA+++

We love this place. As a local, I can say, don’t let the massive amount of tourists fool you. They somehow manage to handle a huge crowd and still get a great plate out and treat everyone with personal service.

Crab fingers were amazing bread included with this appetizer were STALE. Waiters weren’t genuine. Paid for 1/2 dozen oysters cold, didn’t like them so I ordered 1/2 dozen cooked ones, they still made me pay full price for the three cold I didn’t eat, they could of thought of a better way to handle it other than saying I have to pay full price for the uneaten food THEY TOOK BACK (compliments of manager on duty that day) 6/20/18 My cousins burger buns were soggy, she didn’t like it. Over all apart from crab fingers. Everything was mediocre and service was poor. We don’t recommend this place.

Was attached to our hotel so we had breakfast there every morning and it was wonderful.....I wouldn’t suggest any meal after that. Portions are EXTREMELY SMALL and I didn’t like anything I had besides the trio sausage plate. Went back the next day and was even more disappointed. I suggest this being a place you just stop at for a bourbon milk or cocktail.

Nice restaurant with delicious food and of course a wonderful selection of Bourbon. Whitney and Mitch were also great and provided us with top notch service. Located on Bourbon right below Canal St. so the location is good as well.

Our favorite place in the Quarter. People go to Acme or Felix for oysters but it’s hard to beat the variety at Bourbon House. Plus they carry my favorite bourbon, Noah’s Mill.
