A lively vibe with jazz, quality food n good drinks. The Friday night band with Kevin Louis is worth making a visit! The sweet owner dances as the band plays....I love her energy!
Had the best time with my Mom! Tonight they had 7 of the best Jazz musicians in The French Quarter on stage. I did the math and they had over 455 years of talent on stage. We will definitely be back for the wonderful food and music! Was very nice to meet Richard on Bass.
Absolutely incredible. A night full of incredible music, made very personal and we were able to interact with the band, give requests etc. The service was perfect, very friendly. Meals were timed well with the bands sets, and the food was just beautiful. Best meal in town. All round 10/10. If I’m ever back in New Orleans, I know where I’m going!
One of the highlights of our trip. Our family (all adults) enjoyed the music, atmosphere, and food. Food was delicious. The jazz was incredible. We had a great time! Even though my children are grown, i can say that Palm Court would be a great place to enjoy authentic jazz with younger children.
This experience was the best I had in New Orleans. The atmosphere and aesthetic was relaxing and amazing. The best food we had on our entire trip. The music was phenomenal along with the wait staff. If you’re looking for a Resturant with live music for the whole family highly recommend. This is great for the feel of New Orleans jazz music and food. If I could give it more stars I would. I will be sure to let anyone I know that comes to New Orleans to come this place.
We love the jazz band here. The service is always very attentive and friendly. The food could be better but we like it good enough to have gone multiple times.
One of the best kept secrets in NOLA. Chef Bobby puts out an impressive menu that never disappoints! If you can catch Tim Laughlin and Duke Heidiger, you will not regret it! Always a great time every trip to New Orleans!
I love the Palm Court. It is an upscale supper club, really. This concept is actually quite unique in the FQ. Most places offer either food OR music, and if it's combined it's in the form of a bar with music that also offers food. PC is not a bar per se. There is one important thing you should know before you go to this delightful establishment.
Most if not all the customers here have made reservations in advance. The PC opens at 7pm and most folks reserve their tables for 7 or 7:30. So, everyone is coming in at the same time. Whilst the menu is select (only around 8 mains to choose from), the kitchen seems to prepare everything from scratch and is overwhelmed with multiple orders all at the same time. People are not randomly wandering in off the street at various times, like most restaurants. All this to say... be ready to wait a while for your food. Quite a while! Get in the mindset that you are having a slow, leisurely, unhurried meal with a wonderful jazz band playing in a beautiful classic New Orleans setting, have a couple of beverages, kick back and relax. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. This is a place to savor and relish. It is worth the wait.
We didn't understand why the food was taking so long. I complained to the server, a lady who told us she'd just started working there. Her initial response was WAY off... she actually said, "well do you want to eat, or do you want to leave?" My, my. She evidently reconsidered her defensive and arguably belligerent response and came back from the kitchen with an apology, an explanation of "the system " and an offer of 2 free drinks. We lowered our raised eyebrows and sipped our free drinks. That was the only fly in the chardonnay.
Anyhow. I had the steak pie and mash. As a fellow Yorkshire-woman, I appreciated the owner Nina and her influence here on the menu. You never see steak pie on any menu in the States so I was tickled by this. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, I am still drooling over the memory of it! My husband got the filet and although it was a tad overcooked it was still very tender and flavorful. The band was Kevin Louis et al. They were really great, we were so entertained.
I hope the PC will be around for a long time to come. The FQ needs this place to stay!
A absolute must visit on a trip to New Orleans! The music was beautiful, the atmosphere and vibe is perfect.
Food was great too, traditional New Orleans cuisine with friendly hosts. Thank you!
This place is wonderful. The music 1st, owned by the darlingest woman on the planet, staff warm and welcoming, food is Delicious. We had crabcake, and steak pie, fried crawfish for app.... in love completely. Dinner and phenomenal Jazz. Like I felt a warm musical hug from NOLA🥰🥰🥰.
I highly recommend the Palm Court Jazz Cafe. The food has been great and the music wonderful. We actually came twice in the same week and both times we enjoyed it very much. I would keep coming back to try more items from the menu. We had the Cheese Goujons, the Gumbo, Crawfish Pie, Seasonal salad & Bread Pudding. All great! 🤩
We had such an amazing night here! This place is quintessential New Orleans Jazz, and if you want a relaxing evening of wonderful music to accompany a fabulous dinner, this is exactly what you're looking for.
We saw Mark Braud and his band here on a Sunday evening, and they were simply wonderful! They all clearly enjoy performing, and every one of them is immensely talented and yet down to earth. They put on a superb show that made our night.
Not to be outdone however, the kitchen here works miracles. My partner had an absolutely perfect plate of Cajun creole pasta, with just the right amount of everything. When we ordered, I told our server that I was having a hard time choosing between the chicken and the pork chop, and she steered me to the pork - I'm so grateful she did! The pork chop was perfectly cooked and super juicy, and the white wine and mushroom sauce it was served with was absolutely to die for. My partners favorite dish is Cajun Creole pasta, and when he tried the pork chop, he almost wished he'd ordered it instead!
Our server and the other wait staff were all friendly and helpful, and were nearby anytime we needed anything, and kept our drinks coming through the evening. Nina, the lovely owner of the Palm Court, was the perfect host, checking in with everyone and getting them involved, playing MC with the mic in between sets, and dancing around and generally enjoying herself with everyone. This lady is a gem!
The atmosphere here is exactly what we wanted from our visit. Thank you all for a wonderful New Orleans experience. We'll be back with friends and family on our next visit!
What a wonderful experience. Nina was an awesome host. John, our server was impeccable. The food was outstanding. Above all, Lars Edegran and The Palm Court Jazz Band were the reason we came to The Big Easy. Soulful Jazz at its best made dining an absolute pleasure. When next we return to New Orleans we will for sure return to The Palm Court Jazz Cafe.
A beautiful and old-fashioned restaurant where you can have delicious and traditional dinner while watching a live jazz band! The staff is really helpful and polite. It would be better to make a reservation (through e-mail) before you go there. Great place!
What a wonderful evening. Such a talented set of musicians playing old school jazz in a quiet setting with great service. As with so many amazing NO restaurants, the food was delicious, the staff was delightful and to hear the singer and band do "What a Wonderful World" will bring a tear to your eye. It was the best experience of our trip.
Went to the Palm Court Jazz Cafe on Decatur Street for my 70th birthday (flying from Chicago). I had previously visited the place when I put on a jazz convention in New Orleans in 2012.
The place is very elegant and the food is superb. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The service is both friendly and excellent. There is a nominal charge of $10 for the live New Orleans style jazz music. A real bargain, as we saw three sets by a wonderful group led by top NOLA trumpeter, Leroy Jones who had been playing at Preservation Hall earlier that day.
Great place with awesome service (all:hostess, waiters and musicians). Good for the whole family if you come early. Live music was excellent!
First time here and we had a first class experience. The proprietor is a very sweet woman and greets you at the door. Fabulous wait staff and they emphasize that there is no rush in ordering all your courses but to relax and enjoy the evening. True definition of a supper club atmosphere! Our starter was Cream of Zucchini soup. Main course I had the Creole Pasta and my wife had the Cake Cake. For dessert, it was liquid form with all of their signature cocktails. A true delight! Craig Klein and the Palm Court Jazz Band were outstanding and will leave you at the end of the night wanting more food, drink and music due to being in high spirits. You all set us up for a great weekend in NOLA and we will surely be back our next time in town. Cheers!
