Review Grand Isle Restaurant - New Orleans

Dined on Christmas Eve and we had a great experience, from the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place. If you're Italian (or speak Italian), you can chat with Giacomo too

Unbelievable eatery. Please put this high in your list anytime you come to town. They rock 5 stars on all metrics: environment, food quality, service, cocktail services, and location. We had a table of 7 and we all ordered something different. All of the items were incredible but my favorite was the blackened fish. Our server Mark was incredible. He made our experience unforgettable.

A must ! We came here on a Wednesday during happy hour (I believe it’s from 4-6pm) and had $1 oysters . We ordered a dozen , half raw and half char grilled . And the char grilled were AMAZING!!! We ordered shrimp and grits , gulf fish with crawfish tails , and my son ordered a burger . The shrimp and grits was honestly the best meal I had on our entire trip ! This entree was bursting with flavor . We finished with the white chocolate bread pudding . The only downfall was the portion was a bit on the smaller side .

First time in New Orleans and the food here did not disappoint, for an appetizer I had the smoke fried oysters which were out of this world. I usually do not like oysters but these were excellent. For my entree I had the crawfish tail pasta which was also very good. The service was also great, I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. I had the shrimp and grits, jambalaya, and my wife had the fried shrimp platter. The portion size was good, and the prices were a little steep but comparable to other restaurants in the downtown area. We got seated right away with 6 people on a Sunday night around 7 pm. Overall, I was happy with my meal and the dining experience.

Amazing experience from the beginning to the end. The manager Lynette was very helpful and our waitress was immaculate and on point with every recommendation. Loved the atmosphere and the food was spectacular.

Really like this place. Was one of our favorites before Covid. In fact I believe we had our last meal here the night before New Orleans shut the city down. Just recently returned to eat here again after some of the other places that are nearly connected to it seem to be run poorly. No complaints with Grand Isle restaurant. The hostess was friendly. The server was great with personality. The food was really good and someone came over to check how everything was. The manager I assume. Will definitely be returning since we make weekend trips to New Orleans pretty regular.

We had a large group and we emailed ahead of time and was able to schedule reservation for a group of 10. The service was superb. The food was delicious as well. Here’s our top recommendations: sticky ribs, Caesar salad, Blackened Baked Gulf Fish with Crawfish Sauce, shrimp juju and Chargrilled Oysters. Also they will validate your parking if you park in the garage.

If you're in the area, you need to try this place! Easy to find. Room enough for a large party and a bar with a decent selection of options, and excellent service. The waitress we had serve us was amazing. I do highly recommend The Grand Isle Restaurant. I had the Blackened Gulf Fish and Crawfish Tails.. it was off the hook! BAM!

No waiting, all the server was attentive. Food came out in a reasonable time, temperature was right and definitely delicious. The best crawfish I ever tasted it's fresh. But the star was dessert. Passion fruit cheesecake! I forgot to take picture coz it was devoured by my son very picky eater.

It was our first trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and went to Grand Isle for their happy hour, we were pleasantly surprised. We met the BEST server, Mark Damico, who didn't just help us with the menu but with the city's sites and culture. We returned 3 more times after that initial visit to see Mark, for their happy hour drinks/great menu, relaxing courtyard atmosphere and visit with their excellent oyster shuckers at the oyster bar (Eddie and Virgil). Excellent restaurant and staff, we highly recommend it!

In town for a conference and Grand Isle was a quick walk from the hotel. My server, Mark, was great. Helpful, answered all my questions and super nice. The shrimp and grits were delicious. The Awakening cocktail was divine. I highly recommend it! I would definitely come back the next time I'm in New Orleans.

Great bread pudding! Our waiter was professional! However, they were apparently NOT prepared for the 2018 Essence crowd. Half the table served 30 minutes before the rest of our table. Orders were not accurate. Waited to long to receive food.

Beautiful warehouse district. Great atmosphere. Fun waiter. Perfect food. Jalepeno oysters to die for. Had a wonderful experience

Great service by Eddy. We had to go twice because it was very good food and service. Our waiter was efficient, friendly, and fun. Definitely would recommend this restaurant and ask for Eddy.

Great place to eat. Also they have a great Happy Hour on Drinks and Oysters on the half shell best Oysters that I have had in a long time. Next time we are in New Orleans we will go back

Service was decent. Appetizer was amazing had the shrimp juju. Fiancé said shrimp poboy was great. I had the creole catfish and it wasn’t that great. Food is way over priced especially the kids menu. But overall the atmosphere was nice but service was a bit slow. Don’t think we will be back. On to the next one.

They have changed their menu and it as fab. Get the mussels. It is my new fave with saffron in the broth. I am in love. We shared a bowl of the shrimp carminada which is normally a poboy but we requested just the shrimp and slaw part of the poboy. The flavors were phenomenal. Also had the redfish on the halfshell with menuiere, it was also really really good. Grand Isle has stepped up their game

We loved our experience, our food and our awesome server, Beth Ann F.! Thanks for the Shrimp JuJu and your fabulous and refreshing drink, The Awakening!

We’ve eaten at a LOT of places around New Orleans, and Grand Isle has become one of our favorites. Food, service, and atmosphere are great. Was disappointed that they didn’t have the sheep head fillets on our recent visit, but the crab cakes with fried eggs and asparagus entre was delicious.

Best Shrimp PoBoy sandwich ever! Be sure to squeeze on extra lemon - makes it even better! :)

A little pricey for what we got. My sons food had lots crab shells in it that were not supposed to be there. The waitress was a little snooty. Probably our first and last visit there.
