Review The Company Burger - New Orleans

クリスティーナスミス
Our last lunch in New Orleans and we decided to get a burger at what's supposed to be considered the best burger joint in NOLA. I of course, am not the biggest fan of burgers but I am a big fan of chicken sandwiches, and this chicken sandwich I enjoyed thoroughly. I will say that the pickles tasted very ripe, like they didn't pickle enough. So they tasted quite odd to me. Not only that, but I do wish more sauce was also put on the sandwich as well. Granted, there was a mayo bar which I did enjoy. I was able to create my own spicy mayo(using mayo and siracha, I highly recommend t) and dip my fries into the sauce, and that was 10/10. My partner rated his burger a 7/10, so that's why food got 4 stars overall. However, I enjoyed the mayo bar a lot so that gives atmosphere 5 stars. Not only that, but both the cashiers and the cooks and the one server wrre very kind and respectful to their craft. Overall a good place to eat, but probably not the best burger in NOLA.

I have been twice and both times ordered the falafel burger. I'm the to lamb burger, and the hamburgers are amazing. I, however, can only speak on the falafel. My 1st time getting it, I got it as it came, considering it was my 1st time. The falafel was soft inside and slightly crispy on the outside, but the lemon mayo and harrissa made it too salty for my taste. My second time, I ordered it without the lemon mayo and harrisa and instead added fancy mayo. The taste was much better but I could not enjoy it because it was extremely hard. I will definitely be back, however, because I believe they have some of the absolute, best tater tots! The onion rings are good but the tater tots are a whole personality in your mouth. That, I highly recommend.

I enjoy any atmosphere that accepts and accompanies dogs, they were outside. The staff is friendly. They do not do well with substitutions. I got the Company Burger. It was delicious. I asked if I could switch out the toe of cheese, but was refused. Not that they didn’t have it but, “the cheese is rationed for burgers of that type only”. Unlimited soda fountain, milkshakes were awesome, and I don’t even like milkshakes. Their onion rings were crispy and fresh. The Mayo bar offered May flavors to add to your burger or sides if desired, included a chipotle mayo which paired fairly well with the onion rings.

The Lamb Burger is spectacular, and I paired this with tots. On Sundays there are drinks specials. I opted for an old favorite of mine, a Bloody Mary, and the bartender showed love. I wasn't disappointed at all in the beverage. I will continue to go here.

Got into town & all I wanted was a good burger. Took the family to try this place out & we were pleasantly surprised about everything. The staff were extremely helpful with choosing the right item & customizing it to your liking. Everything was made to order, but came out fast. I got mine with a runny egg & bacon & it was cooked perfectly! We thought we were gonna have to add seasoning, but we were wrong. It was nice just watching the staff & you can tell that they have a real relationship with each other & work well as a team. Great job guys.

Wish I could give 4.5 Stars only bc everything is priced separately and it can get a little pricey sometimes. Overall, the food is good, the staff is friendly and I absolutely love their vanilla rum shakes ! I don't eat beef, so their chicken sandwich and/or the lamb burger are my usual go-tos, along with their yummy fries and some ranch for dipping ! The self-serve "mayo bar" is very handy.

Went here for lunch on May 20, 2023 while visiting New Orleans. Menus are at the front of the restaurant where you order. They give you a number to take to your table and will bring your food when it's ready. I got a single burger and our table shared an order of tator tots. There is a condiment area with different flavors of mayo. I got the dill for my burger and liked it. Friendly staff and good food.

Loved this place! The burgers were so juicy and flavorful. I've never been a sweet pickle person but their sweet pickle and onion topping was delicious, not too sweet and just right. Comfortable environment and their bloody mary's are 🙌.

Company Burger is one of those places you go when you want a truly high quality Burger experience. Its one of those places you truly get what you pay for. While smashburgers have their place in my heart, a good medium rare thin patty stacked with more of itself, cheese and condiments, plus thick cut, real, salty bacon and a custom mayo bar? Be still my beating heart. Plus their fries are legendary and they offer malt vinegar at the bar, which you'd be surprised to learn how few places in nola offer that little detail. And they also spin up real malt milkshakes. And it astounds me every time how FAST they are. Seriously. Never waited more than 5 minutes after ordering. Love this place and try to go once or twice a month. Their lamb Burger is delicate and delicious. And their fried chicken sandwich is very unique to them, doing it in a more Carolina style? I think? Using a thick patty and house made slaw that dances on the bun extremely well with their garlic mayo. Was definitely impressed with it.

Two months late in posting my review. This is about an 10-15 minute drive away from Bourbon Street and it was soooo worth it!! We only came here for drinks and a snack (as we didn't want a big meal before dinner). The tots were delicious and the drinks were strong and good! We will definitely make the drive out here again when we visit NOLA next year.

The burger seemed to melt right into the bun. I was amazing. I'm not a condiment person. Ordered my burger plain with no cheese and that's the way I ate it. It was sheer perfection! For those of you that like sauces and stuff they have a condiments bar with some interesting looking choices. Myself, I just grabbed some salt for my onion rings. About those rings..... delicious crispy yummy. Plain Jane that I am I always go for the unsweetened tea too. This time the ice tea punch sounded to interesting to pass up. Poured a little to top off my tea and it was delicious as well. Just down the street from my dentist ( the amazing Dr Tolar). Between the two I'm looking forward to my next cleaning!

Today was my first time going. I got the company burger. The burger isn’t bad at all. The problem I had was it tasted just like the burger from 5 guys. Their burgers are good but I was looking for somewhere with a unique taste. The workers were nice and polite and it was clean. It also had a nice crowd and while looking around at the other people’s trays I noticed they all had something different than what I had. When I come back I’m going to give a different type of burger a try.
Keith Laurent
Really was not good were is the lettuce and tomato how can you even say that was a Burger just meat and bread the waste that comes off the meat when cooking was served with my meal the worst I ever had
Bradley King
Third time coming to Company Burger, and I really believe this is the best burger in the city. It doesn't try too hard. It's just freaking delicious. And the employees are always courteous and happy. This makes the overall dining experience top notch. Keep doing what you're doing guys!
Doug Ellin
The best by far. And the best chicken sandwich anywhere.
Annie Collins
Food was ok but not good enough to justify the price tag. It tasted like Five Guys with less options for dressing the burger. With so many wonderful places to eat in NOLA it was a forgettable meal and one that doesn’t make me want to return.
Marshall Dantin
Good burgers. Tables are limited, but there is ample counter seating. My wife had the lamb burger and raved about it. I had the company burger with jalapeño slaw, really enjoyed it. A bit pricey but not ridiculous.
Evans Roberts III
My fave burger spot in Nola now that camellia grill is no longer the same.
Mitch Brown
Always a delicious treat! Get in me! Make sure to always add bacon and egg!!! And if you should go back for a second round... you're not alone. #fatfam
Teddi Carter Coleman
I loved the food and the atmosphere, the Cooks had great personalities but the lady at the counter and the waitress need to be trained on costumer service. (Feret location)
Lekita Robertson
This was not a good experience at all. The fries were awful. They gave us the bottom of the bag. It was all end pieces. Totally not worth the money.
Amy Francis
Burgers were great! I never had pork rinds I liked until my visit. So good!
Reece Freeman
The smells coming from this place reach down the block. I came here to eat and eat well I did. I got a single patty with cheese bacon and an egg. I ordered regular fries that I later jazzed up with this restaurants assortment of dips from Cajun to fancy sauce. I got garlic aioli and fancy sauce (ketchup mixed with mayo). The egg on my burger was cooked perfectly the bacon was still sizzling hot and my patty was well done but not dried out. I will be returning to this place very very soon hell I’ll probably go back tonight and get my same order with a milkshake.
Shahmeer Hashmat
A nice restaurant with an original style. Service was very fast, and the sauce options were plentiful and delicious. That being said, nothing was very special about the restaurant. The ambience was nice, but not extraordinary, and the prices were relatively high for a chain restaurant like that.
Getinmybelly
Very good spot. We went their two times in two days. The burger is excellent, French fries and onion rings were outstanding. The have crushed ice which is cool. They also have milkshakes, which I'm sure we're good. My only "beef" with this spot are the prices. $15-18 for a burger is out of my comfort zone. I got the bacon grilled cheese the second time. I would stick to the burger thought. Thanks
Houston Webb
Awesome burger! 20$ for drink/burger/fries. Cooked perfectly! Get bacon on your burger. The place is small but you get very fast service. Fire burger but pricey
Kevin Franklin
No lettuce. What kind of burger place says bring your own lettuce?!?!? Bullsh*t. Won't ever come back. Sloppy and sassy poop. Anyway. I recommend the other 100 burger joints that have popped up in the last 2 years. Much better than this and they have lettuce <br/>
Burgerbae
Company Burger finally went there about a month ago, very simple no frills kind of place. <br/>Walk up which is fine, but just be prepared for a line behind you! Small space so don't go during peak hours, You won't find a seat to eat!
Jamsnola1
Good fast burger, large, sloppy, well dressed, & many cold beers. Order at counter, they yell out for you when it's ready. Cooked perfectly, bun can get messy, but in a good way...just juicy burger.
Fly Boy Baron
Best burgers in the city! Blahhhhhh <br/>
Jack Owens
Not one of the best meals I have ever had. If you like extremely overpriced, salty, average burgers with poor parking and worse seating, this is the place. No substitutions and they still got my order wrong. Had two very nice people standing by my table waiting for me to leave. Will never be back. I give it a 1 because 0 was not an option.
Kaylan R
Solid burger joint on Freret. The small pans they place your burger on are a really unique touch. It's been a while since I've been here but I still remember the oozy cheese! I'd come again if in the area.
Madeleine Testa
Burgers here are pricey but WORTH IT. It was my first fried-egg burger, and having that option makes a huge difference. <br/>In addition, they have a SPECIALTY CONDIMENT BAR. This includes all manor of flavorful and stupendous sauces. Also, free and delicious refills on iced tea. <br/>Will return asap. <br/>(Half point off because I can't afford a ten dollar burger every damn day)
Vernon LeRoy Byrd
Awesome experience! Today was my first time visiting The Company Burger and it was well worth it! Reasonably priced and sensationally appetizing! This is a must visit burger joint!
Aldine Lockett IV
There's always a lot of hype around this place....and it is well worth it. Quite simply....it was a delicious eat and I plan on going back again.....and again.....and again..... It's a little pricey, but if you have it, spend it...great burgers.
PasquallyG
Great place for a burger. Always fresh and seasoned nicely. The fresh cut french fries are delicious too. Eat this meat! If I'm close by... I'll swing by!
Katie Elise
I was skeptical. The line was long...but moved incredibly fast.  The place was packed....but somehow tables just magically open up quickly and we received our food less than 5 minutes after ordering. I ordered the single which comes with red onions, bread & butter pickles and cheese.  I asked to add lettuce and tomato which, in my opinion, is a MUST HAVE on a cheeseburger.  I was informed that they don't offer lettuce or tomato.  I was instantly annoyed and prepared to be disappointed. Boy was I wrong. The burger is absolutely spot-on. It's possibly the most flavorful meat I've  had in a ground beef patty in my entire life. It's salty, but not overly so.  I still would probably have preferred it with lettuce and tomato, but it was so wonderful as-is that I have to let that slide and give this place a 5.  5/5 would recommend.
Lindsay Taylor
Wow. These burgers are on point. The meat is flavorful and juicy. The toppings are complimentary to the sandwich, not piled on in overkill. This is what a great burger tastes like. They know exactly where their beef is coming from, and their fries are hand-cut and DELICIOUS. They have a condiment station with house made mayo. The chipotle and the basil mayo are both good. They also have a good turkey burger. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by this place! Tip: if you want your burger done well, you better order it that way. They do not overcook their burgers (ew), and if you're into tire rubber on a bun, let them know so they can help you with that.
Michael Berra
Great burgers. Everything is very flavorful and the staff is friendly. The house mayo selections are great, my favorite is the roasted garlic. It's a little pricey, but two can eat for about $30. Will definitely return.
Liz
Delicious burgers!!! The house made sauces are really good too. You can get either double or single burgers and they also have a full bar with some really tasty cocktails!
Katie
Thought it was a good burger, but found everything extremely salty! French fries had so much salt on them we could hardly eat them. Onion rings were good.
Orbit4
It's a good burger, but extremely over rated - nothing special that would even make it in the top ten any where but it's own zip code. Again, it's good but not Great or amazing - I think locals are way easily impressed.
Lauren D
Maybe I had higher expectations. I didn't mind the price of the lamb burger because I truly thought it would be worth it until I saw how little it was. It's probably worth mentioning that my boyfriend and I's eyes were burning the entire time in the restaurant probably from onions being cut.
Mele
Meh. I mean, you have feta for the lamb burger. Why not cheddar for the regular burger?<br/><br/><br/>-----27 Aug, 2014-----<br/><br/>So-so. There's a lot Company Burger does right. The mayo bar is my favorite thing about the place and the burgers are pretty good. BUT I can't hit the like button because of their refusal to have other cheese choices. I just can't get behind american cheese. I used to go here a lot but now if I crave a greasy burger Five Guys is a lot closer to my house so I just go there. Five Guys isn't better per say, but although I have to tolerate american cheese there too, I can also have the burger dressed more to my liking. If Company Burger had cheddar or swiss alternative and the option of lettuce/tomato/mushrooms then I might consider it the best burger in NOLA. But with american cheese....i'm still searching for the best burger in town... Sorry guys! I really do like what you're doing in so many ways, truly, but I can't eat a burger without cheese...and I really don't see why you won't offer better cheese...and I don't see why you have to be rude about it when I've asked. So I've jumped off the bandwagon.
Indigo Pearl
Darn Good Burgers. Great burgers! Had no trouble parking, but had a little trouble finding a table to sit and eat! High-energy atmosphere.
V
My fav place.. Friendly, unfussy service. Excellent burgers. I go between the turkey and the regular cheeseburger. The fries are always excellent. Oh, the flavored mayos are so good! They are super accommodating and put out a very consistent product. Great job to these guys for running a very cool burger joint.
Jane_music
Great burger, great service. I stopped by for the first time today. I had a cheese burger and fries. Everything was good and the service was fast.
Jed
Not very impressed. Burger is like Five Guys, but very salty. Need more choices than just american cheese. Fries were very good, but for $2.75 it was way to small.
Desmond 'dnaprioritybullies' Taylor
1st and foremost...., Five Guys who....? dem damn burgers melt in your mouth like a snowflake on your tongue.... and if you're not getting the fried egg on top of the burger..., you're sleep..!!!! do yourself a favor and head on over ASAP.., no disappointments whatsoever.... burger so damn gooooood, i had it for dinner 2 nights str8.., and shoulda bought anutha lol...!!! Bon Appetít..!!!!
Nolan
Best burger in town. I lived here ten years ago and liked port of call and poppy's grill but company b blows them out of the water. The magic is in the thin patties. Every bite is packed with flavor.
Buck
Best Burger in The City. If you are in the mood for a great classic burger and fries this spot can't be missed.
Aaron Mohler
Best burger your money can buy you, hands down! The buns are made special just for the company as well as all meat freshly ground in house. Don't forget to try a special drink from their mixed drinks as well to set it off!
NFTM
No Lettuce & Tomato and Never again !. This place is too hip to make a burger the way you might want it. Doesn't serve lettuce or tomato and even jokes about it. It's everything you weren't expecting and less ! More of a hipster burger cult than a proper restaurant. And, once again bad 80's classic rock playing inside. Restaurant owners beware if I have to listen to foreigner while I'm eating I'm leaving a negative review !
Rickey Bobby
Awesome burgers. Good fries. I like the condiment bar. Kinda pricy but what ain't these days. Definitely one of the best burgers in the city.
NillaWafer
Delicious. I consider myself a burger fanatic and I definitely put this one in the top 10 of my burger-loving-fiesta.<br/>Bacon and cheddar cheese, very good taste.<br/>TATOR TOTS! That probably won me over a tad bit right there because sometimes fries just won't cut it.
Littlematt
Awesomeness. Best burgers in NOLA. also, they are not known for their grilled cheese but it is very good. they have very good prices and a very friendly staff. everything about the place is welcoming. highly recommend
Cristia Square
Awesome burger! Best burger I've had a while, the service was awesome. It's a great place to stop by and eat or just get food togo. I will most definitely be going back again
Joey
Hands-down the best burger in the state. Every time I come across a list of the best burger places in the country, critics always list Judice Inn in Lafayette as the best in Louisiana. They must have never eaten at Company Burger. It's one of those places that simply has to be experienced. The prices are fair, the service is good, and the food is delicious. There's a reason they have a long line before opening every day.
Emmy Loop
This burger certainly performs equal to its reputation. It's delicious.
Jake
Hands down the best burger in the city, the meat is awesome, the buns are great, and the house-made bread & butter pickles really make the burger. The onion rings are outta this world, too.
Dab2699
Yum!. Great service, delicious burger, affordable. This is one of my favorite spots to get a burger.
Kimberly Robert
Excellent Burgers. Excellent turkey burger & I'm not even a huge fan of turkey burgers. Sides are good as well. I think overall it is a bit expensive & the biggest downside is how busy it is and the location being in the hood (I know they are trying to revive it but let's face it it's shady.
Ashley Evans
The most flavorful burger in NOLA, very fresh and crispy around the outside but juicy on the inside in a soft, crispy-edged bun. Their special sauce is awesome, along with their perfectly cooked and seasoned fries. We go whenever we have the opportunity.
K Howard
Fantastic Burger. One of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a few burgers in my time. Not many options for additions but that was ok with me, I like a simple bacon cheeseburger. I loved the mayo bar. The fries were great and they had malt vinegar which rocks on natural fires. Oh yeah, they serve Mexican Coke-a-Cola, yes yes yes! I will be back!
Steven Jesse
Nom nom nom. I love a good burger and company burger has that for sure. Gotta get the fried egg on the burger. Great nom noms
Monashi Mio
Great turkey burger!. The Company Burger makes THE best turkey burger in the <br/>Whole metro area. Their fries are also THE best. <br/>Very consistent on their excellence! I like how they have coca cola<br/>With cane sugar, not the high fructose corn syrup kind. <br/>I hope to see one in Metry soon!
Robert Dean
Minus the price, which I understand due to freshness, I love The Company Burger. The meat is fresh, not punished with over zealous toppings or trying to be something over reaching. It's a place, I enjoy visiting, but can only do infrequently due to the richness of the burger with an egg, bacon, pimento. Why eat it any other way?
Kacie
Nom Nom Nom!

Makes Me Miss 5 Guys a Little Less. Fun, low key vibe. I loved watching them work the grill - they scoop the meat on the grill and form it right there. Burgers are juicy, they are very picky about toppings (the servers were wearing t-shirts that said BYOLT - meaning lettuce and tomato - they're not offered there), and the buns are great for holding everything together. If you're a mayo fanatic, they have different types. I've always just liked mine with ketchup so I'm perfectly happy. Tater tots and onion rings were great sides. After having 5 Guys at my disposal for years, this is a great substitute. Can't wait to go back and try the lamb burger.
Kind
Damn good burgers, though the flaver reminds me of Krystal burgers. I wouldn't go for the lamb as it is smothered in a sweet sauce. But one of the best burger joints in town....
Richard Bienvenu
Love this place. Burgers are great with lots of condiment choices. Great sweet potato fries. Like the big open kitchen-like atomosphere, homey, busy, relaxing. Easy on the wallet.
JEL
Big Surprise!. Last year I finally got to try a legendary Atlanta burger that people in the know were describing as "perfect", and totally worth the media hype.<br/><br/>A friend told me that she heard that company burger was created by the same people involved with the Atlanta burger, and was told that it is a must try before leaving town. The burger was the identical burger of my Atlanta favorite. Purely amazing, and technically perfect. Its probably a good thing for my weight that I don't live here.
Jessica Lacobee Barfield
Dude! Man! Bro! Greatest burger in NOLA, no question. The fries are heavenly, the menu is wonderful, and the establishment is eco-friendly. Company Burger is the Miss Universe to my burger-loving soul.
LoveGoodFood
Everything Company Burger makes is exceptionally great. You can tell they care about the food they make because it is consistent. Whatever they are doing I hope they keep it up. I can't imagine a better burger.
Cele Kelpsch
BEST BURGER. LOVE THESE BURGERS! THE MAYO BAR IS AWESOME. GREAT ATMOSPHERE ! GREAT PLACE!
Rachel
Absolutely, hands down, the best burger I've ever had! No other burger compares to the Company Burger! Get the onion rings instead if fries, they're to die for! AWESOME service and super cool atmosphere!
Megan
Love their burgers. One of the best in the city!!
Localyokel1976
I have tried all the new wave burger places in the city and the company burger is far & away the best. Flavor like no other burger I've tried. And the tater tots are spectacular.
Anthony Griffith
The lamb burger, OMG, OMG, OMG. The lamb burger OMG. If you haven't tried it, OMG. If you like feta or even if you don't, I don't, but on this burger OMG. Fantastic fan bleepingtastic. You will love this place.
Amber Griffith
Great turkey burger. I love the fried okra with spicy vinigar sauce. Cocktails are good also. Overall god eats. Only critique is it could be a little more budget friendly.
Smashingsparkles
Delicious burgers!. Went to The Company Burger last night after reading good and bad reviews. A lot of people said it was pricy and I was worried because there are no prices on the online menu (kind of irksome). But my single burger was $6.50 alone (totally reasonable for the size burger you get). I added a fried egg and some slices of heirloom tomato, plus an order of fries and a tea. With tip, my order was $14.08. I would have easily paid $10 for the burger I got. The mayo bar is awesome, the food was delicious (my friend got the lamb burger and I'll order that next time) and I'm excited about the wine bar coming up in the back. I wouldn't call this the best burger in New Orleans, but it's certainly very good and I will be back.
Patrick X
Great onion rings. Love their onion rings and their burgers. A little pricey but that's what you can expect at most places in uptown.
Urbanspoon Gimp
Good burger that is overpriced. I like the idea of this joint. I like the burgers. I love the pickles. But it's overpriced. With a drink, fries, and burger, expect to spend nearly $20 with tip. For what is essentially a gourment Wendy's burger, I think that's a bit much.
John M.
Burger and Beer. This is what I find amazing about the restaurants on Freret: <br/>1. Every one of them seems to sell quality beer<br/>2. Most are interesting takes on common, popular foods<br/>3. No video poker - I have no idea why, but that seems to be a common thread<br/><br/>The burgers seemed great to me. We've been frequenting Five Guys and love it. Company Burger is as good or better in many ways. Good onion rings, too.
Monica Williams
One of the best burgers I have had the pleasure of putting in my mouth . Was a little taking aback when I was told they don't do lettuce and tomatoes on their burgers but after 1 bite I really didn't care about lettuce and tomato. Tried their fancy sauce on my tater tots yummy. Tried their garlic mayo on my burger omg my mouth was in heaven.cant wait to return and try the lamb burger with the basil mayo
Jane
Love a place that doesn't complicate a burger! Great beef, perfect buns...best onion rings I've had....definitely will be back!
Mrb032
Excellent! I had the turkey burger and it was the juiciest, most amazing one I've ever had!
Tyler
Excellent food. I had the lamb burger, which was incredible. It is rather expensive, though. 2 burgers, 2 fries no drinks is $25. For the number of people at this place, the space is really narrow and kind of hard to navigate to find a seat. There is lots of outdoor seating.
Gorge
Are you kidding?. I think that people have to convince themselves they like this place because they've spent about $20 for an ok burger with no sides and a beer in a shot glass.<br/><br/>P.S. Don't get the "corn dog," whatever you do.
SHENA
AWESOME! I had a turkey burger & my hubby the double cheese burger. We left feeling satisfied & lucky to have find such a delicious burger joint in NOLA.
Kyle
Goodburger. One of the better burgers I've had. A bit pricey for an order-at-the-counter neighborhood place, but forgivable for the quality of food you get. Onion rings are great and the mayo bar in the back has some interesting (and delicious) concoctions as well. Overall, this is a nice place worth checking out.
CJW
Over-Hyped. I was disappointed in the burger, in general. Not a terrible burger, but not something I would go back for.
Miss Melanie
Nostalgia on a bun. The burger at this place is the quintessential american diner-style cheese burger. If you have any fond memories of eating cheeseburgers as a kid (whether made on your stove at home or from a local diner) THIS is that burger..but better. I would suggest using their tasty condiments AND **DEFINITELY** order the onion rings.
Coco Zilla
Good Company. Recently had the Company Burger and Fries. I thought it was good. No complaints. But Ive had better in this city and for the price it would be hard for me to switch from about 5 other burger joints in the city to put this on the rotation.
Llcaguilar
The Company Burger. Great burgers however the chef/owner was rather rude.
Chip
Expected better. Burgers were good but not outstanding. Two burgers, two soft drinks (served in a can) and a small onion ring will set you back $28 which was a bit of a surprise for someplace that you place you order at the counter. Its a clean place, has off street parking and minimalist decor. Burger menu thinks outside the box....things like lamb burgers etc.
Morely Casual
Pricey but soooooo worth it. Food was hot, quick, and cooked to perfection. Cowbell has been a disappointment from the beginning and Juicy Lucy's always has bad service and the food is hit or miss...... Company burger is the port o call of uptown....
Nola Kathy
Nom nom nom. Can't decide whether it's the mayo bar, the fresh baked buns, the juicy beef or the combination of all of the above but this could very well be the best tasting hamburger I've ever noshed.
Jon Gilbuny
Good stuff. So tasty and the sides dont disappoint!
Jennifer Anderson
Really Good!. Perhaps not THE best burger in town, but definitely ONE of the best burgers in town. I love the bread and butter pickles on the burger, and all the different types of mayo! Garlic-mayo? Yes please! I would definitely go here again.
Katie
So good, what a great place to get a burger. Love the mayo bar, I only tried the plain, but it was homemade and deliciousand the other flavors sounded really good.
Jm
Great time. Congrats to this great burger joint. Ate there twice last week. Double w/ bacon & cheese...outstanding. Side of grits w/ roasted garlic & bacon creamy and the best ever had. Went back to try lamb burger, juicy, flavorful w/out overpowering, & best onion rings around. Def. will be back when in NO. Read they made best burger restaurant of the year...well deserved!
Jennifer
YUMSTOFFERSON!. I don't like bread and butter pickles and I was a bit put off by the fact that only American cheese is offered, but I went ahead and ordered the single burger, as it was intended. It was juicy, not over done, fantastic bun, pickles provided a nice zang. My friend and I grabbed the last seat in the place - at 1:30 on Wed. The music was Top 40 80's which was a bit odd but sometimes hilarious. Freret Street has come a long way. Bonus: there is ample parking in the lot!
John
Griddle burger. Not a good burger. Same burger can be had at Lee's Hamburgers for a much better price. Sure it's trendy and cool looking but the food is bad! no amount of facial piercings and tattoos can make up for that. I'm sure you can go there and pretend it's good cause for the price you are going to pay for a meal, you want it to be good but it's just not. I'm sorry. Much better places to eat, don't waste your time.
Josh Wexler
If you're not really ino burgers, you might like this place. I'm pretty sure this place is meant to be a prank and not a real restaurant. I imagine the conversation between the owner and his nerdy, sycophantic consultant went something like this: <br/><br/>Owner: I want to get into da restaurant business.<br/><br/>Sycophant: Yes, sir. A fabulous idea for a rich, evil genius like yourself even though you don't know anything about food. What will you serve? The finest langoustine in New Orleans perhaps? Or all manner of foie gras- seared, terrine with truffles, au torchon?!<br/><br/>Owner: No. Burgers.<br/><br/>Sycophant: Burgers?<br/><br/>Owner: Yeah. Fast food burgers.<br/><br/>Sycophant: Um, so you mean you'll do fast food-STYLE burgers, right? But with nice buns?<br/><br/>Owner: Oh yeah. The buns'll be pretty good.<br/><br/>Sycophant: And fresh onions and yummy pickles?!<br/><br/>Owner: Uh-huh. Gonna make my own pickles with the recipe I just bought on the Lower East Side offa some Shoah survivors.<br/><br/>Sycophant: ...Sitting atop a thick, juicy, mid-rare burger patty generously seasoned with sea salt and fresh-ground pepper??!!!<br/><br/>Owner: Nope. That's the twist! Imma take thin little unseasoned patties that are too lean for anyone to sensibly use for a burger, and we're gonna cook the eff outta dem til they're dry, tasteless, mealy pieces of meat indistinguishable from dog food!<br/><br/>Sycophant: But, sir...what if when you ask someone how they want their burger cooked, and they actually like good burgers so they say they want it medium rare?<br/><br/>Owner: Not even gonna ask em. Just take the order, get the money, and grill the living hell outta dem.<br/><br/>Sycophant: And if they want cheese?<br/><br/>Owner: Oh they can have their cheese. But I'm only going to offer one kind.<br/><br/>Sycophant: Gruyere? Emmenthaler? Manchego?...<br/><br/>Owner. American! Good old American cheese. none-a-dat pinko crap.<br/><br/>Sycophant: So you're going to spend over a hundred thousand dollars to create a chic restaurant in an up and coming part of town, and serve people a $9 version of a Mickey D's burger?<br/><br/>Owner: More like Wendy's. Nobody will be expecting it. I'll film them and edit their confused reactions into a youtube video. And I'll include a blooper reel of idiots who pretend to know what they're talking about saying the burger is delish. It'll be one of those viral things.<br/><br/>Sycophant: The video or the burgers? Ha! Brilliant, sir- I'll get right on it.

Amazingly yum!

I had the single and it was great full of flavor and you could tell it was fresh ground

Good, but overpriced. Went there today for lunch and it was good but expensive. A friend and I shared the Company Burger with Nueske's Bacon, fries, onion rings and drinks for 20 dollars. I found the side portions and the the patty size to be on the small side (guess that's why they don't take temperature on their burgers). Fries are hand cut and good but the onion rings are a little too thin for me. I would put Company Burger in the top 5 or 6 best burgers in the city but Port of Call is still at the top.
Sarah
So Amazing. I literally cannot fathom the reviews that say Tru Burger or Port o Call are better. Would I eat at those places? Sure. A better burger? No friggin way. None. The Company Burger has the best burger I have ever eaten in my life, consistently. What is the issue, do people prefer a giant patty that then doesn't get cooked properly in the middle? <br/><br/>Eat this burger. You'll never look back.
Amy
Basil mayo goodness. Really good burger. I ordered the single with bacon. Perfectly cooked. Bun was soft, but not soggy. Sweet potato fries were piping hot and nice and crispy, but not burnt. The basil mayo...ooooh I think I am in love! Chipotle mayo was great as well. I think every restaurant needs a condiment bar. Although there was a line, service was very fast and friendly. Husband was equally as happy with his food (we ordered the same thing)

Best in town. I am very picky and I have to say this place is great!! Best ever...I will go be going back!!

"awesome burgers, even for someone that is not a burger person". Our family went for Sunday lunch. Busy, but they are very efficient and could tell they were working hard to het orders out fast (you see everything they are doing at an open grill, prep area). We had single hamburger and the turkey burger. They were both amazing, and I don't really even like burgers that much. The mayo choices were great --all homemade, such as bacon-naise, basil mayo etc. We had both regular and sweetpotato fries, which are handcut-- yummy. Will definitely go back. Great place. Drinks were only ok (canned soda and not the best tea ever), but the burgers made up for it.

Fantastic burgers. I was very impressed with The Company Burger. The burger itself was perfectly cooked and their buns, wherever they get them from, take the burger to a higher level. The condiments -basil mayo, chipotle mayo, et al- are fresh and well thought out. It is nice to have condiments outside of the Heinz ketchup and yellow mustard sphere. Juicy. On our way out the chef stopped us to ask what we thought. If I lived close by I would eat here all the time, at least once a week.

Yum. I went one Saturday for lunch with my boyfriend and a friend. There is plenty of parking. You order at the counter. I got the single burger and they got company burgers (doubles). There is a condiment corner where you can stock up on different types of mayo / mustard while waiting. I tried the basil mayo and garlic mayo and went with the garlic. The burgers were ready quickly. They were juicy and delicious. The buttered bun was soft and wonderful. We will definitely go back when we are in the mood for a burger. This is one of the best if not the best burger I have had in New Orleans. The chef / owner was also very nice. He hands out the orders and thanks every customer for coming in.

R U F'in kidding me? Wait 30 minutes and pay $9.60 for a dry double that I paid for fixing that were not on there. If it was just about the burger I would be upset with paying $10 for that quality (I'm assuming I went on a day with a bad cook and crappy grind)... but with the experience added on I left irate.
Kristin
Great burger!. Excellent, quality burger (I got the Company Burger a double cheeseburger, and added bacon). The fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings were very good. I saw someone with a special sauce on their fries and I would have ordered that had I known it was an option. I wish that they had larger glasses for drinks and fountain drinks. It was a pain to keep getting up for drinks. Otherwise, the place was phenomenal and the staff was incredibly friendly. Absolutely spotless in there which is a huge plus.

Outstanding burgers, great seasoning and excellent condiments. The fried pickles rock! Only thing, lunch for 2 was $31 before tip. Ouch. Still, we'll be back.

Want a Cornhog? Good luck.. I want to like this place, yet they're making it very difficult. First, the burgers are pretty good (the standard bearer for a burger here in NOLA is at Lilette). But the quality of the food only goes so far. A few experiences with Company Burger have prompted this negative review.<br/><br/>I've now been to Company Burger twice, each time motivated by the desire to order a Cornhog. On the first visit? Ran out. On the second visit right upon opening? Ran out. You'd think keeping a supply of Cornhogs on hand would not be all that difficult considering there are only like 5 things on the menu. Apparently it's very difficult.<br/><br/>To make matters worse, while waiting in the parking lot for the place to open for the evening, I saw through the front window an employee stick his entire arm in the Iced Tea fountain machine to fiddle with the bottom of it (yes, entire arm immersed in the liquid). Upon fixing whatever he fixed, he pulled his arm right out and put the top back on the fountain. Truly disgusting.

Food ok, drinks no!. Had the single burger and sweet potato fries. Burger was fine, best sweet potato fries I've had!!!<br/><br/>But, ordered Rum and Coke Old Fashioned. As we watched the "mixologist" take 5 minutes to prepare this drink, my husband and I laughed. He brought us 2 fingers of drink over ice. My first sip made me gag because it was pure alcohol!!! I can't drink straight booze like that! However when my husband went to buy a coke for mixer, he was informed that it wasn't straight rum but had a "reduced Mexican coke" in it. In my opinion this just added another level of thick sweetness to it with no coke at all! "Mixologist" was insulted, we sat and watched him be mad. My thoughts are this is a burger joint in a strip mall. Seems that the "mixologist" spent the last months at Tales of the Cocktail seminars and has got a little too fancy for where he's working. Hubby and I would probably have had two rounds but were put off by the drinks. If I want an urban cool fancy drink I'll head to a dark bar where I can sit and enjoy it with some music. Not a burger joint where I have to order at the counter and pick my food up when my name is called.

This place is really clean and nice! I love that they serve your food on a brand new shiny quarter sheet pan. I had the burger, pork belly corn dog, fries, sweet fries, and onion rings. All were great. I don't think it's tue best burger in town but they defedently got something good going on. I will be eating here more...

Bad Company. The Good: <br/><br/>The burger bun is grilled so you get that little toasty crunchy thing when you bite. The parking sitch is very good. Nice rustic/modern interior. <br/><br/>The bad and the ugly:<br/><br/>No lettuce and tomato here . To me, the essence of the burger experience (and the reason you don't go to Micky D's and the like) is the contrast of the hot meat and the cold salady stuff , and the merging of the flavors with the condiments -- that is what it is all about, but not here<br/><br/>I got two explanations (for no tomato and lettuce) -- market conditions made it hard to get good produce -- oh, and that they sell the classic cheeseburger, with only pickles and onions. I appreciate that they are grilled, but you don't get enough of them to really notice. <br/><br/>A nice selection of condiments, but unlabled, so I can't say what they were. <br/><br/>6.50 for a single? <br/><br/>At 2 bucks. I had to order the O rings -- and they were really big thick rings with the batter barely holding on the red (?) onion slices, not salted timely and I did not finish the order.<br/><br/>Next time I want that good burger experience, I am going back to Tru Burger.

Good burger. I was very impressed with the "single." The bun really makes the burger - it is slightly spongy and holds up well. They have a condiment bar with several different my-nezs (aiolis?). The burger itself is not massive, but it was filling. Do not expect Port of Call - this is definitely a $5 burger, but it is a quality $5 burger. The onion rings were good but would have been better had they been right out of the fryer. Fries were tasty. No liquor license until 8/24. Recommended.

Just ok. Not the worst burger place in town, but there's a few others I'd prefer

Stupendous!. We had the double-stacked Company Burger fully decked out. It almost melts in your mouth! We also got the onion rings and the (homemade) pimento cheese and garlic toast. Seriously, it was to die for. Can't wait to go back. Great vibe and friendly staff.
Kate Burke
YUMMY!. We went there tonight for their first day. The group ahead of us snatched the last of the burger buns.. They must be good because they ran out... We had a grilled cheese, onion rings, a corn dog and a hot dog... ALL VERY GOOD. Quality ingredients, reasonable prices and friendly staff... Owner was very nice.. They were very busy and wait was not bad at all... I am in love with their bread. I will be back this weekend for that burger.

Maybe Best Burger in NOLA. It is opening day, and it usually a bad idea to try a place before they work out the bugs. But I get so jazzed about anything new coming to Freret St. that I had to go. Took the whole family.<br/><br/>2011 has been the year of the burger for New Orleans. Just a short time before there weren't more than a handful of places with great burgers (Beachcorner, Snug Harbor), and none were especially creative. But a revolution is happening (MV Burger, Tru Burger, and best of all, Cowbell). The Company Burger is maybe the best of the bunch. <br/><br/>I got the Company Single. For $6.50 it is fairly thick, and comes with cheese, onion, lettuce, pickles, etc. By itself it is excellent, but you can have them add a fried egg for just $1 (or bacon) and it becomes transformational. I got mine with the egg. Perfect in every way, including the bun. I really want to try the lamb burger next (pricier at $12, but comes with crazy Middle Eastern flourishes).<br/><br/>The fries, onion rings, and sweet potato fries (all $2.50 - $3.50) are solid. But the condiment bar is extraordinary: basil mayo, chipolte, creole mustard and more == all homemade.<br/><br/>The setting was minimalist hip; the service excellent and smart.<br/><br/>I hate the suburban-style setback of this bland strip-mallish building, especially in the most urban of streets -- Freret. But I guess that's good for parking or something.<br/><br/>Another huge bonus (both for late night eaters and for the life and safety of this street) is that they are open til 11pm on weekdays and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The restaurant describes it as “The Classic American Cheeseburger” and it certainly makes me proud to be an American.
Chefsgirl
All in all, great service and pretty tasty burgers. The Lamb Burger is a must try! I really enjoyed the toasty buttery buns…What can I say? I enjoy the fine details. =)
ChewClue
Right off the bat, what I liked about Company Burger is that they have their own parking lot (no searching for parking yay!!!). Decor-wise, it is pretty similar to most "gourmet" burger chains.
Kim Ranjbar
We ordered at the counter and sat down to share a large bench with a couple of other diners already digging in. I really love the sparse decor of Company Burger, though what little accent there was (wood benches and detailing, heavy iron table legs, metal food trays) tasted a bit like a country & western theme. Keep those doggies rollin'!

... after a ridiculously long time of promising them a visit, and hearing nothing but great things about the burgers, it was a local that finally shuttled me to their Freret St location. Well, shame on me. My own stubbornness had prevented me from trying one of the finest examples of the burger arts I’ve come across in my burger travels. I went for a single, with housemade bread & butter pickles, American cheese and red onions. The patty gets full points of perfect size ratio, and bonus points for hitting the mark on tender with a great char to the outside. The toughest decision you’re gunna need to make will relate to the sides.  Onion rings, fries, sweet potato fries, tater tots or crispy pork rinds. It’s a cruel choice to have to make.
BackBayouVintage
Their onion rings can convert even the most hard core dieter into a fried food lover. After taking one bite of these sweet crunchy red onions I decided to never have a white onion-onion ring again. Whoever thought of using red onions is a straight up genius.

"The Company Burger" - two patties, cheese, onions, hold the pickles, add bacon. Greasy and tasty! One of my big gripes is that the quality of burger buns is often horrid. The Company Burger's bread is excellent

There are many places in New Orleans where you can get your hamburger fix. Ranging from the peanut butter burger at Yo Mama's bar to wet and sloppy at Buffa's or Port of Call. However, one of the newest additions to the New Orleans burger family, the Company Burger, offers a more refined American burger. The owner, Adam Biderman seems to take a lot of pride in his restaurant. I was lucky enough to have met him the day I went in. I got a brief lesson on his approach to the American burger and restaurant history. His beef patties are all hormone and antibiotic free, with the patties made in house from scratch. The buns for the burgers are baked on the Northshore using his own personal recipe. There is also a condiment station offering a wide array of sauces ranging from garlic mayo to basil mayo. Who can resist their carrot and chocolate cake stand? I have of course heard about their tasty burgers but whats more I have been told repeatedly about how they have the best carrot cake in

I came here on the second day that this place opened for business! I'm glad to see that Freret St. is really trying to clean up its act and invite more businesses into its area. There's been a recent boom in the restaurants that have opened their doors on this street. ambiance I like the ambiance. it's minimal (maybe cuz it just opened) and simple. Now some people may think simple is a bad thing, but I like simple! If it's simple in design, then it's simple to clean, if it's simple to clean it probably gets cleaned more often and therefore is more hygienic. get my drift? the menu here's their menu, i saw the lamb burger on the menu and was intrigued but I really wanted to try their Company burger. the company burger the company burger has 2 patties (freshly ground Harris Ranch beef), bread and butter pickles, American cheese, and red onions and for an extra $1 you can get bacon. The nice thing about the bread and butter pickl
Angela Woodall Shepard
The burger was delish. Juicy beef, a fresh bun and housemate bread an butter pickles, yes please. A single was big for me, but Patrick pigged out on a double.

When the owners of The Company Burger were choosing suppliers, they spared no effort to find the best, and ended up with Creekstone Farms from Kansas for the beef, and Wisconsin’s Nueske’s for the hot dogs.   They make some condiments in-house, and the meticulous preparation shows. Company set out to offer the consummate American cheeseburger, and succeeds on every count.  The classic comes with American cheese, house made bread and butter pickles, and red onions.  Note to Company?  Add a dill option.  Thank you. The onion ring stack was superb, but I’d like a larger order. The beef blend that the owners devised with the Creekstone is absolutely perfect, very flavorful, probably a brisket, chuck, short rib blend, with just the righ amount of fat. They have tots, sweet potato fries and pork rinds, with a large compliment of local craft beers along side some national brands and cocktails. Switch it up if you’re in the mood with a lamb or turkey patty;  eschew meat?  Try the grilled cheese. The Company Burger is located uptown, and open every day at 11 AM, except Tuesday when they take a break.
