I really enjoyed stopping here. The man who took our order was named DC, and the woman who cooked the food was Ms. Lee. The owner’s (Marilyn) son, James, was also there. I want to really commend this staff. They were so friendly and accommodating and knowledgeable of dietary restrictions. I was excited to get to enjoy gluten free gumbo. It was so well made, and I could tell they really care for their customers and ensuring that they are being well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy meal made by loving hands, and if you have dietary restrictions, I just want you to know that their gluten free gumbo pretty much tastes like the real deal. It was GREAT. (My boyfriend tasted mine for comparison.) Bless this staff and I hope your business absolutely flourishes and grows! PS - they have the most BOMB mimosas I’ve ever had. Just so y’all know. Deeeefinitely get a mimosa. I had the pineapple and my love had the class orange mimosa and they were both very tasty.

Absolutely amazing food. My wife and I have allergens to the best and most common food ingredients (egg, dairy, gluten and shellfish). As such, we tend to eat at vegan places as it usually caters to 3/4 if not all of our allergens.
We were a bit disappointed to not eat at Cafe Du Monde based on our allergies. We found Meals From the Heart which is right around the corner from Cafe Du Monde. And their Vegan & Gluten-Free Beignets were amazing and worth it.
We would eat here every day if we could.

This place is extraordinary! I've been in NOLA for a week and being vegan here has been haaaaard! I really wish I'd found this place sooner, I would've come every day! But I'm so glad I found it even if it's on my last day. I didn't think I'd get the opportunity to try classic Louisiana dishes like gumbo and beignets but meals from the heart have all that and so much more. The food was amazing and the service was excellent too, the man behind the counter was an absolutely joy. The French Market atmosphere just made it even better. If I'm ever back in NOLA this is where I'll come for sure. If the staff are reading this, thank you so much, you made my trip 🙏🌻🌈💛

Vegan beignets!!! So thankful for the chance to have beignets. I am dairy free, but not vegan. We were able to get everything we wanted on the menu, all dairy free. Sincerely, some of the best food we have ever had and eating is almost a full time job for us. We like to get something to eat while figuring out what we are going to eat next. Bloody Mary was phenomenal as well!

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat today. The French market is hot and feels pretty stuffy despite being open and having fans. But this place is DELICIOUS. There was only one person working the counter so there was a little wait for my order but it was well worth it. The guy at the counter was very nice as well. I got the vegan krab cake po'boy and some potatoes. It was so filling, and honestly hit the spot. I don't know too many places that serve vegan crab cakes but im glad to have found this one.

Visited New Orleans on our southern US road trip, and having a severe gluten intolerance I was kind of bummed out that I wouldn’t be able to try a lot of the local food. Came across from the heart cafe through a Google search and was already beyond excited. The gentlemen at the front suggested the shrimp and grits and OML it delivered. It’s as the best gluten free meal I have ever had, presentation was gorgeous, and it wasn’t service, it was hospitality. Planning on coming back to New Orleans asap, and will absolutely be stopping by again!!!

We ate here multiple times while in NOLA and the food was wonderful! Very food allergy friendly, separate menus depending on your allergy or preference. Coffee was great with dairy alternatives. Gluten-free beignets for the New Orleans experience. A must try. We will come back here when we are in NOLA again!

One a recent visit to New Orleans, Mr. Beet and I found a cozy little hotel right in the heart of the French Quarter. We were surrounded by an abundance of incredible restaurants but we found one place we at at a few times, simply because it was that amazing. I love when we find a place during our travels where we are made to feel at home, and Meals From The Heart Cafe was that place for us in New Orleans.

Amazing! After our first visit, my boys (eleven and seven) begged to go back for every meal. They even postponed breakfast for an hour on our last day so they could have blueberry pancakes from Meals from the Heart. The owner made the boys feel like old family friends. My family stopped at Meals From the Heart Cafe this Sunday for the first time. We unknowingly showed up right at closing, but when the lovely Miss Revia heard that I was gluten free, she said, "I don't want you eating anywhere else. Let us take care of you!" The wonderful staff started the kitchen back up, and made a gorgeous meal not just for me, but for my whole family too! We were absolutely blown away by the incredible kindness of the entire staff. And the food was delicious!!! I can't recommend these guys enough. If you want awesome food prepared by fantastic people, this is the place to go! These guys made our day, and we can't wait to go back!

This place is a lifesaver for those of us with celiac disease! And even better: they deliver. We stayed at a hotel in the French Quarter, and each morning, this wonderful food woke us up!<br/><br/>I highly recommend their gluten-free blueberry pancakes, cheddar grits, and morning sandwich. We ordered each morning, and every bite was delicious. They also called us to check-in and make sure we were satisfied. Highly recommend!

20 minutes for a two egg omelet. I waited twenty minutes for an omelet. I was even told up front that it would be twenty minutes, so I assume that this is a typical wait time, and well-known to staff. Yet, there was only one order ahead of mine. That means each order averaged ten minutes each. Then, once the food arrived, it was bland. No seasoning: not even salt or pepper. And, there was only one vegetable, spinach, in the omelet. I expected more, such as bell peppers, carrots, and celery. The final straw: plastic plates and cutlery. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience.

Amazing. We just got back from a 4 day trip to New Orleans. We ended up eating at Meals from the Heart Café 3 of the four days. If we would have found them sooner we would have gone 4-4. The food was fantastic but more importantly the service and people were incredible. We felt like we were back home with our families and it was something we wont forget.

Pork Free Deliciousness. In the city New Orleans it is difficult to find a place that offers turkey sausage but Meals from the Heart does! I discovered this gem shortly after they opened and was thrilled to find them again on this trip. The turkey-apple sausage is incredible and by far my favorite item on the menu. We stopped by for a quick breakfast. The veggie and egg omelet on an English muffin was perfect. I can't wait to head back to try the okra gumbo!

Wonderful! My husband and I ate here for brunch. He got the crab cake with a poached egg and loved it. He isn't as picky as I am...he loves a lot of things. I got the okra gumbo and ohhhh man, it was awesome! Loved the flavors. And the people working here were kind, funny, and gave us a lesson on okra and gumbo. Would totally come here again!

Made with a whole lotta soul. Service was friendly without constant interaction, considering the walk-up-and-sit cafe setup. The tasty gumbo's temperature was perfect for a very chilly day. Attn. Celiacs!. I know how difficult it is to find a safe place to eat. Because MFTH describe themselves as Gluten Friendly I asked a lot of questions when I arrived. The gentleman who worked the counter was very knowledgeable about Celiac Disease, including issues regarding cross contamination and was happy to answer all my questions. Based on his answers I felt that MFTH was as safe a place as any to eat. My crab cake and egg breakfast was so good I had to go back the next day for the GF blueberry pancakes. They were fantastic. I was thrilled to find GF crab cakes and asked if they shipped them. Sadly they don't. As always Celiacs must use their own judgement when eating out, but MFTH worked for me.

My special treat.. Love the Crabcake Passion!! My treat to myself on a nice day when I take an afternoon walk in the Quarter. Everyone is real nice. The food is fresh and the sauces and salad dressing are home-made and delicious.

Supreme Quality. This place is great! It was a little hard to find (I think we walked by it 3 times) but once we did, it was on! My girlfriend and I specifically picked this place because they offered vegan / vegetarian meals and it was pretty close to our hotel. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially the owner. I went with the crab cake po boy with potatoes - excellent! The bread was crispy, the veg were fresh and crisp, and the crab cake was very moist. My girlfriend went with the black bean slider. Man, it was so good! I was surprised on how moist the patty was. Normally bean burgers are pretty dry. This place definitely gets my stamp of approval.

Yummy AND healthy!. This cafe was lovely. The service was friendly and fast. The food was yummy and healthy. It is a definite place to stop for either a healthy late afternoon snack or a full meal. Did I mention it was delicious? Usually health food tastes like bird seed, but this food was amazing!

For those claustrophobic, you can grab their food and sit across the walkway at the outdoor tables area. NOSE Meals from the heart cafe is not a place we would have walked in by ourselves. There was a lot of clutter from advertising and photos on the stand facade. Their logo is also a bit odd - a red heart with a fork through it. Looks a bit violent, but we got the message behind it. SWIRL The menu had colour coding to help those looking for gluten-free and vegan meal options. Once we placed our order we were given local satsumas as a snack. This is a seedless citrus fruit - a mix between an orange and a tangerine. PALATE We got their Freshly Squeezed Juice Combo - orange and carrot juice. It was a great combo, adding ginger would have made it even better. We also tried their Crab Cake Passion and Poached Egg. It came with lots of greens and two sauces on the side. One was a zesty sauce for crab cakes - lemon, garlic, remoulade sauce. Slightly spicy it was perfect for the crabcake. Oatmeal we ordered was dense and just the right texture. It came with a side of walnuts, raisins, sugar and cream. We also had a side of their Vegan Apple Patty to try. It was unique and spicy. FINISH We enjoyed our breakfast looking at a blue sky background, behind granite countertop. This spot is definitely worth coming back to for lunch. Their Black Bean Soup and Okra Gumbo looked irresistible.
