Review Seed - New Orleans

The food here is immaculate, although a limited selection (small menu). But we all found something amazing and none of it disappointed. The bao was epic and the beignets were everything my vegan heart dreamt of when arriving in Nola.

Food was so good!! I'm usually a pretty big carnivore but I didn't miss a thing eating here! Everything was delicious and SO flavorful. We came for the vegan beignets, but stayed for the Korean Fried Cauliflower and Mexican Spiced Waffle Fries. The queso on the fries is THE BEST vegan nacho cheese I've ever tried!

This place was alright, glad we got to visit this part of town but wish the portions were larger for the price. The 2 tacos def should’ve been 3. There was a lot of variety of flavor which can be alright sometimes but honestly it was a little over powering. Best tofu nuggets I’ve ever had! The artichoke balls were awesome in the falafel but over powered with red onions. So all in all, it was ok, probably would have preferred visiting another vegan location over this. Also I wish they had Bloody Mary’s or mimosas. The drink I got was way too sweet. Had to wait to eat my beignets til that night because of the sugar spike from their drink lol

This is the vegan spot in Louisiana! I traveled to New Orleans for a few days and needed to find somewhere to eat. After using Google, I found Seed and made my way there. Once I ordered my food, sat and ate, I had no desire to look for another vegan spot. Seed was going to be the place I went to eat for the reminder of my stay. The food is very good! The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was refreshing to find a vegan spot in Louisiana with good food. Especially since I live in a city that has plenty of them. They have good selections on their menu, so you should find something to your liking.

Seed was the first place I went to eat when I arrived in New Orleans, and it's going to be hard to beat! I actually don't know if I want to go anywhere else because it was THAT good. Seth greeted me when I walked in, and was so friendly. I asked him what his favorite menu item was, and he told me that it was the Tofu "Pork Belly" Bao. So, I ordered that, along with the Chips & Cashew Queso. Everything was so, so delicious. The tofu was the crispiest I've ever had, and the blend of the flavors was amazing. It's probably worth noting that I have COVID-19 Long Haul and my taste has been muted for over a year now. There are many things that I cannot taste well, but I could taste EVERYTHING I ordered at Seed, which was really just incredible and so exciting. For dessert, I ordered the Banana Sundae, which was a great way to cap off the meal. I will absolutely be back before I depart New Orleans, and I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Oh my goodness, all the food here is so amazing!! Definitely off the beaten path but it was worth the trek. The food is unique and delicious. Very good options that are healthy as well. We got the mushroom gumbo, tofu bao buns, cauliflower katsu, and the Japanese noodle salad. All of these dishes are amazing. The bao buns were some of the best I have had and the sauce was awesome. The cauliflower is a MUST try with great sauce and the bread (purple yam milk bread) is SO GOOD! Definitely would recommend those 2. We got the beignets for dessert which were also incredible. I would be here all the time if I lived closer!

My partner has been wanting to go here and tonight was the night we finally try it out. We both ate the waffle fries for starters. I had the mushroom tostadas, get prepared to get hands on and saucy. My partner had the noodle salad super good. You must try the lemonade if you enjoy the fresh ingredients. Our server Seth was cool. The vibe was right in the ambiance and the lighting was perfect gotta do it for the gram. Loved it I’m out.

Came here for dinner one night during my stay in New Orleans. I'm not vegan but I do enjoy eating vegan food from time to time. This place is highly rated in New Orleans and it did not disappoint! The staff first off, was very friendly and attentive but not overly attentive. We tried their vegan gumbo, Korean "pork belly" sliders, Korean fried cauliflower, and eggplant sandwich. Everything was really good but my faves were definitely the eggplant sandwich and the cauliflower. I ordered an avocado crema they serve with another dish on the side and it was the perfect combination to balance out the dish. I would recommend that they actually begin to serve dipping sauces with their cauliflower. My partner thought their korean sliders were the best. I have to say I was really impressed with how good these were as well despite not being real pork. The only con was I wasn't a fan of their Mint Julep... so much so that it actually turned me off from even wanting to give another drink there a try. But overall my experience there was great and I would highly recommend this place for vegan and meat lovers alike!

Located roughly halfway between the Garden District and Canal Street, my wife and I stopped in for dinner on our way back from a Garden District walking tour. The building itself is well marked with a huge wooden sign on the corner, and the interior is a wonderful shade of blue/green that is bright but not bland. Everything on the menu is vegan, but non-vegans will love their offerings, too. They have a "dartboard menu", in that you could throw a dart and it would always hit something delicious for you to choose. My wife and I shared the artichoke cakes, the tofu nuggets with honey mustard, and the cauliflower katsu. All of it was so well flavored that we found ourselves looking for more. Luckily, if you ask, they have rotating desserts that are not on the menu. We went with the frosted carrot cake. It was wonderfully moist and definitely worth getting (and I rarely get dessert). They also have a wide selection of house cocktails that looked delicious (we avoided them since we were a bit dehydrated from our walking). Overall, Seed is a top choice!

Great food and great experience overall. The waitress was so sweet and attentive! I had the nuggets with buffalo dip, cup of gumbo, and etoufee. I was pleased with everything, and the etoufee had a nice little kick to it. Very glad I was able to stop by, and will definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans.

Wow, just wow! The whole experience here, even during covid times, was so so good! A friend and I dined in and ordered the waffle fries, katsu cauliflower sandwich, butternut squash soup and beignets for dessert, and a couple cocktails. It was the perfect amount of food, the dishes were expertly prepared and inventive. Everything was incredibly delicious. Standouts were definitely the waffle fries and the cauliflower sandwich. YUM! The waiter was kind and attentive, but very respectful in giving plenty of space. It felt very safe even eating inside, we made a reservation about 30min before arriving. The indoor seating area is pretty large and there were only 1-2 other parties besides us. We weren’t sure if they would have the vegan beignets based on past reviews, but they had them on the menu when we went and were also delicious!

This was the first time I ever had vegan food and having lunch at this beautiful spot was awesome! The food was delicious; I had mushrooms tostadas while my friend had tofu bao. Portions were small but it was full of flavor and very filling. We then wrapped our bomb lunch with amazing desserts. The carrot cake and vegan beignets were heavinly. I definitely recommend this spot :)

Nice quaint spot with excellent vegan choices. The Korean fried cauliflower was to die for. The cashew cheese sauce on the waffle fries makes me want to sweet from dairy. The staff was excellent and took a lot of care with my wife's nut allergies. A must try for locals and visitors!

The service was exceptional. We ordered the artichoke appetizer which was so good. I was a bit let down by the Po'boys however. Not because they were bad but bc the bun would have been better flat pressed. The beignets were old, cold and stale tasting. But the over all vibe and service made up for that double fold.

That was extraordinary. We crushed about six dishes; full, but wanted to keep exploring the varied menu. Loved the cauliflower “steak” sandwich, the artichoke cakes, the roasted veggies on grits, the mushroom rolls. Cute decor, sweet staff, and even had the opportunity to speak with Daniel the chef about his excitement with developing plant-based dishes.

Fantastic food, cool vibe, and excellent service. Portions are generous and presentation is lovely. We went for lunch and had Korean cauliflower appetizer, Tai noodles and mushroom tostadas. It was so good we came back for dinner, but they were already booked up with reservations, so we came back for lunch again the following day to try the mushroom gumbo, artichoke falafel, tofu “pork belly” bánh mì, and a second helping of the Korean cauliflower . Cauliflower was everything we hoped for: crispy, tender all the way through, sweet, a little spicy and savory. Mushroom tostadas were thoughtfully assembled and delicious. Mushroom gumbo was made with a dark, rich roux and was complex and satisfying. Tai noodles were fresh, cool and perfect for summer. Artichoke falafel came on an awesome piece of freshly-made flat bread that was on par with the delicious contents. The bánh mì came with two in the order and was great. The buns were made from scratch, and were light and fluffy. Thank you, Seed, for providing quality that can showcases vegan cuisine and comfort food at its best.

What a relief to find good tasty vegan food on vacation. We're staying in the French Quarter so Ubered over. The food was sooooo delish! Our waitress was wonderful and we had a great time. Took the trolley back to the Quarter for a $1.25. Soooo worth it!

We got the mushroom gumbo and chips w cashew queso. Also got the vegan beignets w espresso and coconut creme sauce. These were all absolutely delicious. This place is a must-visit.

Responding to my mound of luggage, my wonderful server, Seth, asked if I was arriving or departing. I shared I had just arrived and Seth replied “welcome home.” This level of care, hospitality, and sense of community spans the entire Seed experience. The plant based retreat boasts a menu of colorful and enticing appetizers, entrées, sides, and desserts, a modern and cozy atmosphere, and friendly team! Shortly after arriving in NOLA, I was conflicted on what to do - too early to check in to my Airbnb yet too eager to venture out to wait around at the airport. I searched for vegan restaurants in the city of gumbo and was delighted to see Seed was just a few blocks from the place I would call home for the week. I booked a table to ensure I would have a place to be after hopping out of my ride but the reservation really was not necessary at 2:00 PM on a rainy Sunday. I lugged in my suitcases and quickly got my table in the turquoise space adorned with ample windows which both welcomed great natural light and served as a lovely view of the moody drizzle outside. Seth, my server, was compassionate, patient, and affirming of my choices. And I concurred the cheesy waffle fries, shockingly smooth yet crispy cauliflower sandwich with purple buttery bread, and fluffy beignets dipped in a sweet caramel drizzle made for a glorious first meal in the Big Easy!
