Maglieaux's

I have eaten in Paris, New York, New Orleans and SF. And all the other la de das. I have not been HAPPIER having a meal in any of those places than I was tonight at Maglieaux's. Fried oysters were astonishing. Gumbo was good. But the service was so.... loving. I felt like my sister and mom were in charge. When I left I was full of great food, yes, but also a renewed love of women who bless me and keep me and make their souls shine on me. Go here

Total disappointment. This is the “gumbo” that we sent back. As you can see the rouge isn’t rouge at all. It was the consistency and taste of chicken broth. It wasn’t warmed when brought out. The entire table was disappointed with their dishes. The medium rare steak was well done, the shrimp tasted like out of a bag, the portion sizes were small and the plates over priced. We left for $100 less and hungry. Save yourself and walk over to the Pioneer Pub next store.

Worse gumbo and food we have ever had in the state of Louisiana! Food was like at a hospital, gumbo was a horrible experience, steak could have been bought at Walmart and thrown on a fire on a tin roof and been better. Nothing about this place was good. Manager said gumbo had been off for a little while and no chef. It was absolutely a train wreck. Yuck.

Wow ! What a disappointment. We saw this place on Food Network and where so excited to visit. I guess that Chef is long gone or it was his day off. We sent the Chicken and Sausage gumbo back because it was soo flavorless. The rice tasted like minute rice that was not all the way cooked. The broth was water thin and my husband said tasted like dishwater. Mahi Mahi was bland and not even enough sauce for the pasta.Last half of my noodles I left because they where dry. No garlic bread either ! Now if you just want a nice view and a cocktail then yes visit.We really enjoyed the live music and our waitress was lovely. Very disappointing experience.

My husband and I had a delicious meal at Maglieaux's tonight. My entree was a chicken breast stuffed with crab meat and he had Italian Sausage Cannelloni. Both were tasty and filling. The cream sauce on both was spiced perfectly. The bread pudding was to die for. The bread texture was light and the cream sauce was perfect. It was light and creamy and did not overshadow the bread. The service was fast and attentive. Our server, Shelby, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable about menu items, she had a very pleasant personality, she checked on us several times during dinner to see if we needed anything and we had a nice brief conversation with her after dinner. The restaurant has an outside seating area overlooking Natchitoches's beautiful river. I highly recommend Maglieaux's Riverfront Restaurant.
