Just happened upon this place while looking for a shoe store. We got Gizzards, chicken strips, and fried okra. It was all so good!! Probably some of the best chicken fingers we've ever had. The okra was reminiscent of the okra my Grandma used to make. (Mild was still a little spicy!) I would definitely recommend it!!

I got 2 combo wings mild sauce with cole slaw and baked beans. It was good but I had to wait 20 minutes for the wings to fully cooked, I spent $31.55 they charged me .98 cents for using my Debit card. 🙄 The reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star review is because they only have 1 cashier and tons of hungry customers. Kira the front cashier was super busy an did the best she could to be professional and fast but she seemed exhausted. Helen’s Hot Chicken needs to hire more staff members an add more cash-registers. I don’t like to wait 40+ minutes from placing a order to the time they handled me over the food.

Best chicken sandwich I've ever had! Hands down best! Flavorful, crispy, and good size chicken breast too! A little but of a wait but worth it. They also waffle the bun which is different and enjoyable. There's a ton of inside seats plus a few outdoor seats as well. There was 2 people that came in asking for food and money while we were eating so be aware of that.

This was my favorite hot chicken place in Nashville, almost entirely because of the hot chicken gizzards. They were amazingly delicious and crunchy, and really cheap. It's probably a good thing I don't live near this place because I would be here all the time for those gizzards. The chicken was good too. The people behind the counter were entertaining. Next time I'm in town, I'll be visiting here more than once.

One of my favorite places to get hot chicken and fish in Nashville. It’s Clean inside. When I visit Helen’s my go to meals are mild chicken tenders and fried fish. The leg quarter is really good as well. The chicken tenders and catfish was cooked to perfection, juicy, lovely crisp, in every bite. I didn’t want to stop eating. I love the food here. It always satisfies my appetite.

I'm not from Nashville. I visited my niece at Fisk and she recommended Helen's. That was almost a month ago. I'm still thinking about how good that chicken was! I had hot lemon pepper wings and regular lemon pepper wings. 10 out of 10!

Very good chicken!! The spice was not overpowering but tasty. The cashier was so cool and I like how she remembered my name. My family really enjoyed the music videos and food.
