Review Steadfast Commons - Nashville

After trying their coffee in the gulch area i was pretty excited about this event as what they had to offer in terms of coffee/bar/food. The location is perfect for the tourist crowd around downtown and also for the locals as the speed with which downtown and surrounding east Nashville area is growing. Walking in the inside feels fresh, nicely setup and gives it a good hip vibe. Everyone seemed welcoming and pretty excited for the event taking place. We started off with a short history about the business and how they ended up at the location right here. Yes parking is a pain but then again this is downtown and is as expected. Talking to Denny the GM while eating you could tell how passionate he was about the place and how is co-workers were all into the way things were presented and how the customer service was to be handled. Chef Megan did a hell of a job to give us a good overview of what is cooked in the kitchen they have and how much effort is put into it. We had a small taste of everything for us to decide and base our reviews on what this place could be. In the end a great job and will be back here for the Sunday brunch to try the remaining menu and flavorful food. Our menu was below Peoples Cobbler which is Tequila, lime and some fresh berries. The color of the drink looked really berrylike and seemed like a hit with everyone as the flavors were perfectly balanced. Celeriac Salad - this one was a perfect starter and nicely balanced with all flavors nothing was over done and matched the cobbler perfect. Revised Brooklyn - Rye drink which just looked awesome when presented nice. \ Beet Tartare - oh this was my favorite as it matched the drink provided nicely with the 2 flavors blending in Mussels - these were the biggest hit in the crowd due to the coconut curry sauce and the nice spicy kick it had. Trout - this was cooked to perfection and the sauce with it felt like mashed potatoes but was something totally explosive on the tongue and made eating the trout more enjoyable. Ice cream - White choclate lavendar - made in house and you could tell how fresh and balanced it was , not over sweet or over done but just perfect.

A concise menu and collection of just the best stuff. Ramos gin fizz, Laird's apple brandy old fashioned, maitai with orgeat, corpse reviver, pisco sour, and excellent espresso. No fluff, no pretentiousness. The liquor collection too is all delicious things that one would want, not cluttered with mediocre stuff. The bartenders are friendly and helpful. It's a relaxed atmosphere fitting for a calm good time away from the noisy street.

Sit at the bar to interact and chat with the bartenders. They let us try different types of alcohol, made a custom drink off the menu and ensured a kick ass time. Also the pumpkin hummus is amaaaaaazing.
