Visited for the first time, and he lady that took my order in the parking lot was really nice.
I was surprised that it's strictly a drive-thru in this small parking lot that needs a bigger area. The rear of my truck was literally hanging out in the street. Food was pretty good. Wish the catfish was hot and fresh. Coleslaw was not made on site. A lot of the items listed on the menu online were not

Amazing how the taste of a simple sandwich can transport you to a different time and space, of a North Nashville that was comprised of hard working folks, just seeking to provide for their families and not the Gentrification-Zone it has become! Locals may know this, but this visitor did not. Ed's Fish & Pizza House does not sell pizza 😂. It's all good because I went for the fish! I love some fried fish. Everyone has their preference, so give it a try for yourself. I was not a fan of the batter. I did enjoy the fries, the option of spaghetti as a side, and the strawberry lemonade. The gentleman who took our order in the line was the highlight. Very personable and funny.
A staple in the Nashville community that has stood the test of time!!! THE BEST WHITING FISH SANDWICH that you will ever put in your mouth!!! Always FRESH!!! There are cars waiting in line to be served at the drive-thru! A MUST HAVE!!!
Ed's is a super old school place, has been here before Nashville was a thing. Super personable staff, family run. It just feels good being here even before you get to eat. The whiting was fresh, clean fry oil, bread soft. Spot on. 10/10 will be back.

You can tell Ed's is an establishment when you roll up at lunchtime by the line of cars. The signage tells you they've been specializing in the whiting fish sandwich since the 1970s and you owe it to yourself to find out why.
The whiting fish sandwich is probably there best sandwich I've ever gotten from a drive thru, and it might be there best fried fish sandwich I've ever had. Between two white bread slices are a generous and perfectly fried four fillets slathered with spicy mustard, onions, and ketchup. It is big and has to be held together with a toothpick. It is also super simple and sometimes simplicity wins over all .
You should not leave Nashville without eating at Ed's!
Best fish sandwich in Nashville, period. Been coming here for decades. CASH ONLY and DRIVE THRU ONLY since covid I think so can't fault them too much for atmosphere. Be prepared to wait for a while, this place is popular because it's so damn good.
Most excellent! Had the whiting sandwich, sounds odd with onions mustard, pickles and white bread. However it all comes together and is super good. Will eat here again.
