Best sushi in Nashville hands down. I took my family here for my son's 14th birthday. He loved the sushi so much that he ate stole some of my sushi and my best friend's in addition to his own. My brother's lasted about 23 seconds and my sister's not much longer! I didn't think the price was unreasonable either. I ordered a jalapeno bomb (AMAZING by the way), 3 excellent premium sushi rolls, chicken Yaki soba, and some sort of amazing ice cream dish for $64. Not bad at all! The service was great and our waitress was the sweetest! I love that they have this restaurant here. I love coming to this area and we'll definitely be visiting Maru's again soon.
This place is AWESOME! My girlfriend and I have been dying to get a good sushi place on the east side. This place is a 5-star for us. Not only do they have delicious fresh sushi but they have a couple different Korean dishes!! We tried the Bulgogi and it was fabulous! Rita was amazing too, she introduced herself and I was able to chat a bit with her. We will definitely be back!
Very cute place great for smaller parties. The sushi was the best I've had so far! It was fresh with well balanced flavors and it looked fantastic. They are very welcoming and pleasant. Some may think its pricey but you pay for what you get which is quality.
Little expensive but fish was high quality and portions were above average.
Really awesome sushi place in East Nashville, all the rolls are really delicious and the prices are great. The staff are also so kind. Definitely stop by if you’re looking for quality sushi somewhere.
Great food for a good price. Their lunch bento box is really a great deal. The sushi is high quality and really packed with filling, not just a bunch of rice. Definitely recommend.
Came in for dinner one night and it was the best idea. The appetizers were delicious and the rolls were amazing, the tuna nigiri just melted in my mouth.
Popped in for chirashi after the gym. It comes with fake crab salad and seaweed salad, which was a nice change from just the fish and rice. Both tasted great! The fish was very fresh and flavorful.
The general atmosphere is ok, but could use a bit more design. Bathrooms being public and outside is a bit weird.
I’ll be back to try the bibimbap in the stone bowl!
We've been coming to Maru East Nashville since it opened. Overall, it's a wonderful spot. Staff is always friendly and smiling. The only thing we've noticed is that certain dishes keep getting smaller over the years and we sometimes leave disappointed. For instance, the salad had gotten smaller and with very little dressing. The edamame is half the size it used to be and it seems to microwaved rather than steamed. The katsu used to come with apples or oranges and beets on the side. Now it comes with one carrot slice. The chicken is not only a smaller portion but also the rice is about half what it used to be. But the food is still amazing and we love the staff.
Perfectly crisped, soft tofu! I'm not a tofu fan but keep coming back for THIS tofu!
Great portions, quality and price!
Bento box also came with miso soup and sushi!
Bibimbap served in hot pot!
Loooooooove this place
Really great sushi spot in East Nashville. The food seemed fresh and was really tasty, the vibe is minimalist and modern— perfect for casual date night or friends. They were very busy when we went on a Tuesday night (a sigh of good business imo!) so the service was slightly slower than normal but all together they made sure we were taken care of. We live down the street and will definitely be back.
First off, I was a little concerned about picking this sushi place out of all the other ones available around Nashville. I am glad we went here as the food and sushi rolls were fantastic! We had the Avocado Ball (but got the Bomb), Green Roll, Albacore Special and Tuna Lover rolls. They were all delicious! My major complaint here is the service. It took some time for them to come around and take our order. When we ordered, we ordered the Avocado "Ball" as the "Bomb" had crab in it which I am allergic too. When they brought it over we dove into it and started enjoying but then my friend said I think the crab is in this one so we asked the server and she said we got the Bomb not the ball one. So I immediately asked if it was the imitation crab not real crab and thank god it was. She was not very apologetic and we were also missing our apps and veggie tempura. Again, was not very apologetic and we got our tempura about 20-25 mins later. So all in all we thoroughly enjoyed the food but the service was disappointing. Hopefully next time we come here they bring the service up to their food level.
