Review Porta Via Ristorante E Bar - Nashville

Dont be put off by the looks of the building, awesome food and great service is waiting for you inside! Micheal took care of us and he is well worth asking for his section. We were seated by the kitchen and honestly, you could call this table and the one next to it a chef's table. It was great watching pizzas being made and everything expedited. Great way to see what you would want to order. The staff busted their behinds and were hustling. Hard to find that these days. The food was so awesome. Very flavorful, I love when a restaurant seasons everything the way it should be! No complaints here. We will be back again. My wife said she wanted to find a real Italian restaurant.....this was a guess if it would be good. It was way better than good!

I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was comfy yet slightly sophisticated. The dim lighting and piano music made for a wonderful ambiance. Our server, Ethan, was very professional and knowledgeable. We received our food in great timing, and the quality was superb. I enjoyed the four cheese gnocchi with walnuts, very creative! I implore that you save room for dessert. The dark chocolate gelato was phenomenal. I was shocked by how reasonable the pricing was for our meal, considering the quality and how “high end” the restaurant felt. I hope you give this place a try and enjoy it as much as I did!

Was looking for wood fired oven pizza but settled for the lobster ravioli instead. It was good, decent portion size.

The food and atmosphere are always top notch. The staff are beyond friendly and won't mind chatting with you if it isn't super busy! We're always taken care of when we come in. It's an awesome place!

The customer service was top tier. We had bread and drinks immediately when we sat down, the waiter was very helpful and extremely quick to refill our drinks, and the food came out quickly. We both got the Margherita pizza DOC which was maybe the best in town. Will definitely be going back!!!!

Bruschetta appetizer, Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parmesan were delicious! We will be back.

Took my mom to Porta Via for her birthday. My husband ordered veal saltimbocca, my mom had the lobster ravioli, and I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. We each tried all 3 dishes and were floored by how wonderful everything tasted. We usually go to Carrabba's for Italian but wanted to try something new and closer. Porta Via is a very sweet find off of White Bridge road. The ambiance invites you for a relaxed and intimate dinner and the service reflects the same. Our server was attentive to our needs and knowledge and the food did not disappoint. My husband's veal saltimbocca was bursting with flavor and the veal itself was incredibly tender. The sauce from the lobster ravioli was surprisingly wonderful and the chicken from the fettuccine Alfredo was the most tender chicken I have ever tasted. All pasta is hand made and you just can't beat that! At the end of the meal, my mom enjoyed some caramel gelato for her birthday.which was also wonderful. We will definitely be back!

What a cute spot tucked away in West Nashville! The strawberry bellini was delicious. We ordered the pesto crepes, shrimp scampi and a salad and it was all wonderful.

My daughter and I stopped in for a late lunch today and were pleasantly surprised. The exterior of the building gives no indication of the wonderful food served inside. We were greeted immediately upon entering and brought to our table. The live piano music was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. It was shortly after 1 and we inquired about Sunday brunch, but alas, it was not available. Our server was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations - you could tell by the look in his eye that his recommendations weren't rote but rather things he enjoyed eating. He also asked about dietary preferences or requirements. Well done. After careful consideration we ordered the Crepes Florentine and a margherita pizza. Again, we were asked how we would like the pizza cooked, that was a first and well worth it. The wait for the food was a bit long, but not interminable and knowing that every item was prepared from scratch, it was worth it. While waiting, we were able to enjoy some delicious bread and an olive oil dipping sauce. Portions were large, food was excellent. We had hoped to have some gelato for dessert but were full before we finished our meals. There's always next time.

I really dig the underground look to it on the outside. Its a much different world inside. The food is amazing. I had the Fettucine Pesto and it's amazing! Their homemade Gelato is incredible! But, don't go if you're on a budget!

I want to love Porta Via and will go back but last night we ordered the *same* meal that 6 months ago was absolutely fabulous and, sadly, it was disappointing. Six months ago the dishes were really understated and not so Americanized; sauces and cheese did not overwhelm the entire dish. The eggplant Parmesan was lightly breaded and delicate. The cannelloni were minimally covered in bechemel and cheese and you could actually taste the wonderful crepes and beef filling. Last night those same dishes were absolutely *blanketed* in thick mozzarella and the eggplant was like a one-inch thick eggplant steak and did not appear to be breaded or fried. You could not get away from the cheese!! What was all this cheese meant to hide? Remember the old commercials for Ragu marinara where the actor exclaimed “THAT’S Italian!”? Well last night’s entree were the antithesis of that sentiment. Dude. Seriously, enough with the cheese already. Italians do not eat like that. On the other hand the calamari remains absolute perfection, served on a bed of arugula with marinara that is really bright and tangy. And the coffee flavored gelato was wonderful. Our waiter, Ethan, was really the highlight of the entire meal. Personable, funny, attentive and efficient. (BIG shout out to Ethan!!) Yes, I will go back, in joyful hope of the return of Porta Via of yore.

Brandon did a terrific job from the greeting at the door to the check presentation. Food was well prepared and the portions generous.

Brandon was phenomenal. It was a busy night and Brandon greeted everyone with a smile, answered every phone call, and cashed out every To-Go order out! His customers service was top tier! He is definitely one of a kind! Whoever is the owner you have someone special keeping the doors open! 🤍 great customer service is hard to come by these days.
